Description of Work: My AC unit in Largo Florida was not working. I contracted ACS for a repair visit due to their outstanding Angie's List rating. Their tech Eric arrived on time and diagnosed that there was a blown fuse in the air handler. It would be a simple repair. After correcting the defects Eric also took the time to inspect the compressor located on the roof to ensure that it was in proper working condition. He also inspected the condo thermostat to ensure that it was also working properly. I totally recommend ACS for any HVAC needs. They are professional as well as competent and reasonably priced.

Description of Work: Our air conditioner went out at @:2:30 PM two days after Christmas when our out of town company party of six were still here and we were having a birthday party at 6:00 pm for 12 more people. I called Advanced Air conditioning that I got off Angie's list after reviewing several. They arrived at 4:00 PM and confirmed what we feared the air conditioner had finally had enough after 13 years, the last two on life support. Our new air conditioner was installed the next day, they worked out a nice price, told us about rebates on electric and taxes. Service man was knowledgable about all the air conditioners and helped us pick out the right one for our home and explained everything. The installers were professional, but friendly. They really had a hard time getting the bigger unit in our attic, but didn't make a big fuss about it. I can't say enough about this company. The secretary called in the morning to say they were on their way and gave me the phone number to do the energy check on the phone for the rebate from Duke Energy. Thank you

Description of Work: Installed new AC, Trane XV20 in an appropriate amount of time. Explained the system well and cleaned up after. I am very pleased with the quality of the system and the $800 credit from Duke Energy is a bonus. My monthly bill went down considerably. There is also a tax credit for this 21 seer AC system. I will have the system checked annually by Advanced Cooling Systems. I highly recommend them! | |

+ -1 moreTeam came out to do the repair. It was a successful repair. However, a couple days later it broke again. They came out and redid the repair and advised us that we had a rodent chewing through the repaired wiring. They were right as confirmed by an Angie's list pest control company!

Eric arrived and checked the electrical side of things and determined the compressor was receiving only 97 volts, apparently insufficient to start the compressor. After recycling the breakers (which were previously not tripped), the compressor received sufficient power and began to work. Total time spent about 15 minutes and problem was solved. A loss of power several days before apparently partially tripped one of two breakers associated with the compressor.

They took the time to research problem, offered various solutions, and gave options. The tech was a very clean cut young man who represented the company very well. Courteous and new his job. + -1 moreGot three estimates (all from companies on Angie's List), which included the existing company I have a service contract with (they were the highest). Jim Osiel, the owner, came to our house on April 13th and gave a written estimate, which was lower than the first one. I told him I had one more estimate to get, and he said he would beat any other estimate I got. A third company came out two days later and gave us the lowest estimate of the three. I called Jim back and he was true to his word and dropped his price. The work was set up for April 21st, one week later. Jeff & Brendon, the technicians, arrived on time and finished the job in 3 hours. They cleaned up after themselves and even had to cut back a plant because the new condenser was bigger than the one that they replaced. Financing was also offered and we decided on 6-months same as cash.
Description of Work: Installed new Trane XR 13, three ton, 13 seer, heat pump condenser, hurricane pad with tie downs, electrical whip, change circuit breaker to match new unit, removal & disposal of old equipment, one year maintenance agreement. Warranty 10 year compressor & outdoor coil, 5 year parts, 1 year labor.

+ -1 moreIn replacing the two ton system recently, Jim redesigned the attic ductwork to provide greater airflow which has resulted in much better cooling with the same size system. I highly recommend Advanced Cooling Systems.
Description of Work: I initially chose this company to service my two aging A/C systems, a 4 ton and a 2 ton, in early 2003 because they where one of only two local companies recommended on the equipment manufactures WEB page. I have never been disappointed. Over the past 5+ years, Jim and his folks have done what I asked to keep the systems going as long as possible. Of course, eventually they had to be replaced, which Jim and co. have done over the past two years.

He walked me through problems that could lead to the thermostat not functioning and the problem was solved without a service call. Now I call that service!!!!!!! He was very kind in that I figured since I was a woman I would be treated like I had no clue, but Jim is a real man!!! Did not become critical or of the stuff guys do when a woman is asked to do something mechanical. He was a God send and I will definitely use this service for my air conditioning checks and so forth from now on. My name is Nora Kantor and I am very happy now I have cool air.
