Not sure where to start. These folks are more slippery than a pocketful of pudding. Needed to get a new system last summer, reached out to 5 contractors. All of them quoted us a 4 ton system, Acree came in and told us they'd save us money and do a 3 ton and that it'll outperform the bigger one. They presented well, are non-commissioned, and very personable. I asked that they do a calculation first to make sure and they told me that it wouldn't be needed thanks to their "comfort guarantee" which promises to make any new install right, no matter what. Acree seemed like the logical choice, especially since they are "family owned", as they told us. Spoiler alert: they are not. We went with Acree. They were back within a day or two to do the install which went smoothly. Friendly crew, cleaned up after themselves. This is about where the "great" wore off. This system has never been able to keep up. The house is always hot. When I say hot, most days it's 80 degrees in the house while the thermostat is set to 73, and its 92 outside. The comfort guarantee states if there is more than a 5 degree variance, they'll figure it out and fix it. We average 8-10 degree variances daily. We've had Acree out easily 6-8 times since last summer to figure this out, and every time they come its a different theory. Every theory costs a lot of money to fix. When I mention the comfort guarantee, they make a face like i made this up. The last service tech that was out recommended i reach out to management to escalate the issue which i thought was a great idea. I'm fairly certain, however, management or leadership doesn't exist. I've been trying, since the first of June, to get a manager on the phone or to return an email. The gatekeepers who answer the phone won't answer any questions, or help you in any way in order to protect these so called ghost managers. They're always busy, always ready to take a message. These calls never get returned. I started emailing 2 or so weeks later after getting beyond irritated. Those emails never get replied to. I've gone up to the president and CEO. I've emailed service manager, sales manager, HVAC division manager, quality assurance manager, the sales rep, and the vice president. Never once a single reply. I've left messages for all of these folks. Never once a return phone call. I've given deadlines, i've begged for just a phone call. Never any return engagement. Making a mistake about the system size is one thing - but MAKE IT RIGHT. Do what you need to do to fix it. The lack of response, or empathy, or even just HEARING us is unacceptable. We're miserable in our house. We're sweating. Acree will sell the heck out of some systems, and their service team is friendly but i'd question their knowledge outside of "normal" concerns. However, if you REALLY need them, forget it. They will leave you scrambling after taking your thousands upon thousands of dollars, left with a crappy system and no resolutions. You have SO many choices in the Tampa area for a HVAC/plumbing/electrical partner. I implore you to NOT spend money with this company. It is NOT family owned (owned by a private equity firm out of CT called L Catterton), and management does NOT care about you. They don't care about your investment, they don't care about what you think, and they don't even care if you leave a bad review. They won't make it right, they won't stand behind their install, and worst of all of it: they don't keep their word. Do yourself a favor and find another company, preferably one that IS family owned where your money DOES support the local economy, and they DO care about how you feel about the investment.

Acree is a SCAM! Do not use this company! Acree came to do my first tuneup on my one year old brand new HVAC system. They told me my system was brand new, and that my Freon was totally full to the brim. Approximately six weeks later I have no cold air. I call Acree they come out and tell me that my HVAC, brand new coil is leaking. They try to upsell me a brand new coil that is under warranty but the labor cost is $1200. I called another company for a second opinion and they told me I have NO LEAKS. Acree then comes back out to investigate, makes sure that I have enough Freon and then sabotages my Freon caps so that no one else can take them off. I had to have the other HVAC company come out and inspect and forcibly remove my Locking. Freon caps. While doing this, they broke two of their own tools. Acree is a SCAM. Do Not use this company!

I had an excellent experience with this company. Their technicians were professional on time and conducted themselves well, they do great work! They guarantee your finishes and their management will always go above and beyond! I will be using them for the life of my system, And then I'll have them install another.

Scam artist. Tech/salesman con you into agreeing for services you don’t need. Ended up charging me $589 to find a leak and couldn’t even fix it. $209 to remove ice. Run for the hills

It was a sales pitch and I ended paying over $300 just for a yearly maintenance. The technician appeared to be more of a salesman than a technician. I had to research my unit on the internet to show him that it uses R410a refrigerant. This company is a scam! I thought they would have been much more professional when I saw their commercials on Fox, but unfortunately they need to scam you for their commercials. Not happy at all.

Our landlord is an older single woman who has a maintenance contract with Acree Air for her air conditioner. Recently the ac stopped working and we called for repair. They were able to come out the same day. They arrived an hour early. There were two employees. The one had been to this location before the other had not. Our residence is a two-story condo in St. Pete. They inspected the unit and told us that the dual capacitor was no longer working and had to be replaced. They said the part, NOT covered by the maintenance plan, would be over $300. They "generously" agreed to waive the $79 service call fee because, to install the part would be an ADDITIONAL $300. When we questioned the markup on the price of the capacitor, which I found on Amazon for $15, one employee quipped, "people pay it." When my partner spoke with a manager, the manager explained that a high markup is required to "cover their costs." We refused to pay the exorbitant fees and we refused to let them put the damaged capacitor back into the unit. So the employees went back up on the roof, disabled the unit and wrote "CONDEMNED" in permanent marker on the unit. We have pictures of this. We called a manager, as I stated above, but they were firm on their pricing. They did indicate there was a $50 coupon on the website. As a result we called another company that completed the work in 30 minutes with a capacitor they had in their truck. Final charge from the new company was $167. AC has been working very well.

Not very well. the girl on the phone told me they can't come out until Tuesday afternoon. It's 95 outside with a heat index of 102! And they advertise "no additional charge for nights or weekends". No kidding, that's because they don't have enough people working for them. answering service is no service!

Didn't use them and won't be calling again
Description of Work: Paid a $79 service call and told I needed a whole new unit. Quoted between $6000 and $11,000 for both inside and outside units. Turns out only was a fan motor $485. Unit runnning fine. Don't let Acree scare you into wasting you money when it's not necessary.

Description of Work: Frustrating. Bought a complete system from them in 2010 and ever since they have to keep coming back to fix leak up by the handler. Finally today the service tech diagnosed the problem...the system blows too much air. So the system they recommended in 2010 blows too much air and continues to break another part of the system they also installed. Their suggestion...pay us $500 and we can fix it with a new part. Then Matthew(wouldn't tell me his last name) said he reports directly to the owner and I have to deal with just him...says the owner won't help. The owner won't take my call or listen to my story. I just can't bring myself to pay them to fix their initial issue that has continued for 7 years now. Frustrating. All I can do now is warn others.

I think the cost of installation was overpriced. Their employees could have had more knowledge in what they were doing.
