This job was supposed to completed in 1 day, 4 hours. The job could not be finished because there was not enough material ordered so they had to order another box of planks. I had to work that day so I left my husband a check to give them. He gave them the check without the project being completed and signed what he thought was a work order. I was the one that hired Tropic Floor and I was the one that knew what needed to be done so he basically had no authority to sign plus they should not have given him anything to sign without the job being completed. They still needed to finish the floor and the entryway. When I got home, I noticed that one half side of the room’s border was cut shorter than the others and left a gap. I texted Mario, the rep and sent pics of the border and he when they come out again they would fix it. I also sent him a picture of the entry way which was not completed because lack of planks and he said they would fix that also. They came back the next week and “finished” the floor and entryway. They left a 2 inch gap on both sides of the entryway which looks horrible. I pointed it out to the workers when they were here and they said they would fix it. By the time, i came back in the room, they had left and there was still a gap in the entryway on both sides. I texted Mario with pictures of the entryway and he said that is what it is supposed to look. I sent the pics to friends, one of which is a contractor and all said NO do not accept this work and all agreed that it looked bad. I again texted Mario to have his manager/owner call me. The owner, Mike called me and said he was coming out to look at it. He came and said the same thing Mario said that it is supposed like that. I told him that It looked horrible and I was very dissatisfied. He basically blamed it on the tile being installed improperly (20 years ago). I took pictures and went to other 2 flooring companies after he left and both companies said the work should have been done differently and the tile should have been cut and the plank extended. One company told me it would cost me $250 to fix the entryway. I contacted Mike at Tropic Floors to tell him that I had talked to the other flooring companies and then he told me he could fix his mistake for another $250. I basically told him that I would work with the other company before I every hire him again. He should have done the job! I have pictures of the job which I would love to share with anyone interested.

Do not use this company! 2 weeks after floor done a plank started to crack and raised area(maybe nail head or debris) under another plank appeared. Mario sent rep who agreed replacement needed. After several calls, certified mail requesting to remedy this situation, Mario refuses to take care of it. No extra flooring product was left with us.

I love their products, but the two installers sent to my place were not the best trim guys. We even offered up our own tools for perfect angle measurements & cuts, they didn't want them. My neighbor had two different installers, and her trim work is beautiful

Time was a critical factor. We moved cross country to live on our new boat/home and needed to get the flooring installed before the movers brought our furniture a few days before Thanksgiving 2013. There was a delay from one of Tropic Floors' suppliers, making it look like the flooring for the main deck would not arrive in time. Mike went above and beyond to make a 6 hour round trip to personally pick up the (very heavy) flooring and bring it to our boat for a timely installation. The installation itself was impeccable and the flooring beyond our expectations. Maintenance is simple and satisfying ~ Swiffer dust, followed by Swiffer wet mop and the floors are gorgeous!
Description of Work: Prepped filthy, bumpy, cracked concrete flooring on a 60 year old retired tugboat and replaced with 2500 square feet of beautiful, high quality vinyl planking. At first we wanted to have Mike and his team remove the ancient carpeting that was glued to the concrete floors but, with some extremely valuable and useful advice on how we could do it ourselves, my husband and I were thrilled that we were able to remove the carpeting ourselves, leaving Tropic Floors with plenty of other work to do!

Description of Work: well they were extremely prompt, courteous , etc. until installation happened. They installed bamboo wood flooring on a concrete foundation. The floors immediately squeaked so bad when they were walked on that I called them and they said they would contact the supplier. ????? Which made no sense to me. I spent another $3,000.00 having the flooring taken up and reinstalled by competent floor men. As soon as removal started it was obvious that the installation was incorrect. Did anyone call from their company to see if there was anything they needed to do ? No. Nor did I ever hear from the 'supplier' that they supposedly called about the squeak Here is the clicker for me, they never mentioned that wood flooring on contrete is vulnerable to the humidity. The beauty of my home is that 3 large doors open to the lanai and I want the doors open. Now the flooring is coming apart. It would seem to me that a company who specializes in flooring would tell a client what is not a good idea.

floor looked wonderful after completion but 4 months later the grout started to come out of the joints. Contacted the company and they agreed to repair as needed. Because we were going back north we didn't have time for the company to do the repairs before we left. Upon our return in December of 2014 we again contacted Tropic floors and they said they would come when they got time! After waiting a month contacted the company again and they said they would come in a week or two. After waiting 3 more weeks and company is no show contacted them again and got same run around , but they were rude this time!, so now is mid May and no contact from tropic floors. So it looks as we will have to find someone else to do the repairs! Also have filed a complaint with the Better business bureau. .

Tropic Floors was notified of this situation last minute before the [member name removed] were to return home, when they came back to Florida during "season" they contacted us & we did schedule for the repair, it just so happened it was the day they were leaving... They returned again to Florida contacted us & we resolved this issue immediately. In closing it was nothing Tropic Floors did wrong, it was a new style of stain resistant grout that did not perform.

First I am in a quandary (spelling?) here. Review and ratings are all and quot;Aand quot; (I disregard the one poor rating - we experienced dishwasher flooding and would not put costly flowing underneath). There were some problems: insufficient amount of flooring, delayed molding delivery and matching issues, communication (phone calls) could have been better Having said that, In the end installation turned out well and and quot; She Who Must Be Obeyedand quot; (commonly referred to as and quot;wifeand quot; was satisfied. Contact with the installers was very good - they professional work. Any issues were addressed. Two neighbors, one on either side, have had Tropic install flooring and both rate Tropic an and quot;Aand quot; and although I have made some and quot;-and quot;comments I also award an and quot;Aand quot;.

First of all, we felt so lucky to have Mario help us with tile choices. We looked at six tile stores and Mario was the most informative. He certainly went out of his way to make suggestions and was very patient with us when we could not make up our minds. His expertise was invaluable with several out of the ordinary things about our rooms blending one into the other on different levels. Mario was wonderful to deal with. Tropic Floors has several top-notch installers that are highly recommended. Our tile installer was FANTASTIC! His name is Ed and what a gem he is! Ed is extremely polite, desires to make the customer happy, and installs tile with perfection. I have never had a workman of any kind in my home with his caliber of professionalism. He dealt with the above mentioned abnormalities of our rooms with ease. The finished product is outstanding--beautiful. I just can't say enough positive things about Ed--he is the best. The price was right in line with other quotes and we got the tile we wanted. I will call them in the future when needed.

Tropic Floors Inc. came in and they damaged a little. They didn't really clean it up and the flooring just wasn't right. We weren't satisfied. It was a shame because I liked the way the floor looked when we bought it. But once we got it in, we didn't like it. It's spotted. He didn't want to put it under the dishwasher. He was going to go right at the front of the dishwasher. We would never recommend them. I needed to watch them because they don't clean up. They said they would but they didn't. They mark the walls. It wasn't an excellent price but it wasn't a bad one.

We saw an add for Tropic Floors and went to there showroom. The salesman was very helpful in explaining the different types of flooring and grades of under cushions for sound. We ordered our flooring and it came in the next week. Within a week and a half we had all the flooring done and we love it.
Description of Work: We had old carpet removed from out living room and two bedrooms and it was replaced with lament flooring. The installer was very good and even had to level one of the bedrooms before he in stalled the flooring. He was very good and fast. The installer cleaned up after himself and he removed all the old carpet.

I talked to the salesman and said that I couldn't do anything right now because our accountant charges so much to do annual income taxes. He gave me the name of a different tax guy who saved us hundreds of dollars! I'm probably going to use this company for the floors after we get some other things done thanks to this great service.

We went to Tropic Floors because we had used them before to have carpet installed into the same house when it was a rental, we are now going to move into this house ourselves and decided to remodel the kitchen and bathrooms. Some of the Carpet needed to be stretched but we decided to have the dining room area cut out and tiled along with the kitchen and laundry rooms (They are all connected) We went on vacation during this install (previously planned it just was crappy timing that it all fell into the same week) and when we came home Tropic Floors had finished all of the floors...everything was finished and looked fabulous like it was installed with the house! There were no surprises and we are very happy with the floors - we recommend them! They do great work and will help you find something you will love that will also work in your budget. **I'd like to add - once we returned home there was one place where the grout didn't stick for some reason - they fixed it within 24 hours of me telling them about it.

Tropic Tile always responded to my calls and they always called ahead when they were coming and they were always on time for appointments. The material was delivered far enough ahead to allow it to acclimate to conditions in our house. Terrance, Tropic Floors's installer, came on a Thursday and spent a lot of time getting the carpet and nailing strip out, determining that the concrete was flat enough to glue the flooring to, cleaning up, re-confirming my requirements and doing his layout calculations. After all that planning he went to work and was he ever fast. However when he reached the point where each piece of flooring had to be cut at an unique angle to match the old tile he slowed down and really did a precise job of maintaining the spacing for the grout joint. In the end the new flooring matched up perfectly to the old tile. That day he finished up by cleaning up the new floor, to get rid of any excess glue, he also installed the quarter round molding every place the flooring met a baseboard. On Friday he returned finished cleaning the floor and put in the grout. OOPS not a god color match. On Monday he was back with some magic color stuff and poof the new grout blended very very well with the old grout. Both my wife and I are very satisfied with the materiall and workmanship. I had serious concerns that I could find someone to do this install to my satisfaction but Tropic Floors came through with a needs no excuses job, First rate!
Description of Work: Our living floor was carpet over concert and bordered in two places by ceramic tile. We hired Tropic Floors to remove the carpet and replace it with 3/8 inch stranded bamboo flooring. My requirement was that the new flooring be glued down, installed surface flush with the tile, and cut to provide a 1/8" space for a grout joint between the flooring and existing tile. I also required the grout be tinted to match the existing tile grout. I was very fussy about the installation requirements. No transition strips for me. Before we hired them the installer from Tropic Floors came in and took up the carpet and carpet nailing strip everyplace the carpet bordered the tile. The depth of the tile was checked everyplace along the tile line to determine that the new flooring could be laid in flush with the tile and that the tile was installed with a straight enough edge that a good grout line could be created. We negotiated the variations in the tile and what the final result would be. It was determined that one piece of tile needed to be removed and replaced. Once we had agreed on what would be done all my specs were written into the sales agreement and we proceeded with the order.

Made an appointment to come to my home with samples of ceramic tile. He measured the entire area I wanted redone, picked out my tile and he told me the tile would have to be ordered and it would be in there store in about a week. Sure enough the tile arrived and the installers showed up to remove the carpet and linolium. They did a nice clean job of it and removed all the debris in 1 day. They came the next day and began the installation of the new tile and did a fantastic job. There was some real fine cutting to do but they did a beautiful job of cutting and installing such small pieces. I should also mention that the new material was installed at an angle and not just square which required the fine cutting. I'm really happy with the way the intallers worked with us as we were living in the house while the project was being done. That meant we could not walk in certain areas until the material was dry in 24 hours. They clearly marked where we could step and where we couldn't so as to not ruin the job.I would surely use them again if I had to. i

The cost of the project included the tile and other materials. The workers arrived at the scheduled time each day, worked diligently the entire day and were very professional at all times. The tiling job they did was excellent - I was very pleased and highly recommend this company. The owner of Tropic Floors visited the job site several times which says to me they are concerned that everything is done right.
Description of Work: The house was built in 1972 and there was lineoleum in a sunroom, the laundry room and a large closet which had probably been there since the house was built. They removed the old lineoleum and tiled the entire house, approximately 2200 square feet.
