Emergency Services Offered
Services we offer
Residential and commercial wildlife control, pest & animal removal.
This company has the best attitude and desire to help. They arrived daily at the appointed time -- and several times a day when necessary -- to check the traps. I recommend them without hesitation.
Description of Work: The Skunk Whisperer also has services in central Oklahoma. I hired this company to handle a large number of feral cats in my neighborhood and to handle it in a humane way. They worked for several weeks to trap the cats. The cats went to vets for neutering or spaying, then into adoption programs or barn cat programs.

Description of Work: Searched our home to determine the entry point of squirrels in our attic. Was very thorough, checked the chimney, the roof, etc I was so glad when he reported they were not in our attic just playing on the roof! We live in a neighborhood with lots of mature trees so they can easily jump from trees to our roof.

It is a joy to occasionally tell a client that they do not need our "full tilt" animal removal services. Sometimes people are simply hearing a tree branch rubbing on the roof or animals using their roof as Interstate 35 through the neighborhood. If you ever decide to have us do preventative repairs, if you have animal issues, need a yard pet-proofed or need a new/used pre-inspection of a home - please do not hesitate to contact us.

[Member's name removed] Thank you kindly for allowing us to assist you with removing your skunk family and the nice comments. You contacted us during the toughest time of the year because we were not sure if you had babies (kits) or not. Wildlife rehabilitators and callers had not reported seeing any kits in the Tulsa or OKC areas, so, we think you were “blessed” with some of the 1st Oklahoma skunk kits. Thanks for your patience during that transitional time of year. I'm glad that we were able to make the mother remove the kits and make repairs so they would move on. Thank you also for sharing us on Band of Neighbors. Thank you! Ned Bruha The Skunk Whisperer, Inc. VP

The Oklahoma City trapper for Skunk Whisperer is Justin. He has always been prompt and is very humane and caring with the animals. In November we had seen a skunk squeeze in under our garage door so knew he was in garage or crawl space. Justin set and baited a closed-wall trap (so skunk spray, if any, would be limited by the plastic trap). By that evening, the skunk was trapped and Justin came and took him away to relocate far, far away. We honestly thought that was our only skunk so we closed that incident. In January we had evidence of more skunk activity digging around our foundation / crawlspace. We had Justin come back and set more traps, this time outside and trickier, but within 2 weeks we had one skunk. This time we had him leave the traps (you pay for his setting the traps and then for each animal he removes) and within a few days we had one more. We have been grateful for this service. It is expensive enough that we hope (among other reasons) that there are *no more*, and in future we *might* try doing it ourselves, but for right now as I said, we are just very appreciative!

Called to inquire about removing a mole from my backyard. They said they would have someone call me back. No one ever called. Needless to say, I did not use them. Received a call from the owner on July 4, 2014 in regards to my review. I told him my review was based off my experience with the company so I would not change it but I would update it with the following information: He stated that when I called he did his job by contracting me out to a mole removal guy he uses. He stated they are not a lethal company and most people want that kind of fix to a mole problem. He said the guy who he contracted it out to was sick and bedridden. He did not realize he hadn't gotten to me until he saw my review on Angie's list. (The contracted guy did call me asking me to remove this review as it was his fault and not The Skunk Whisperers.) He told me he was just sick that I was unsatisfied and it has changed the way his company does business. He said they are changing their website to be very obvious in stating the are non lethal. He also said the people who answer the phone are to let people know they are non lethal and that if they want that kind of permanent fix they contract out. In response to this information I told him: I am glad it's changed the way he does business. That I did not want lethal if it wasn't necessary. (This made him even more sorry as he said most people don't want to spend the thousands of dollars it costs to do it that way. ) I responded by telling him I didn't know how much it cost and when I called I asked for an estimated cost and was told she couldn't provide that information but someone would contact me who was more knowledgable on the subject. (I never received that call.) I told him I had no idea that I was being contracted out and that I did not appreciated that as I had called him for his business. I also stated that it should have been his job to follow up with me or the contractor to make sure I had been taken care of because it reflects his business. He said he understood, was very apologetic and told me once again that they were making changes to the way they do business. I appreciated that he called me and apologized. It means a lot when someone will call to admit they did wrong. I will probably still not use them if I have any problems with pests as of my initial experience. However, my experience is only one and I am sure they have had many satisfied customers in the past. If they make the changes he stated they were making, I have no doubt they will have satisfied customers in the future.

We will no longer trust others to call potential clients - because it hurt our reputation this time. For clarification, in the past when we received calls about moles & gophers, we referred callers to a mole/gopher trapper in that area, (not contracted). In this case, the person I referred the work to did not call you back. I am sad this happened & sad about the review on here, but it has allowed us to better our service. Our website now loudly explains that the only mole & gopher work we offer is non-lethal & the way our service directs calls about moles & gophers has changed.

They're humane of what they do. He explained the whole thing and let us know what he was going to do. There is this thing that scared the skunk out and He made a one way trap door. He first left it hardly open and made it. After a few days, he came back and checked them. He didn't want to have the raccoon go off and leave the baby there and plan to get back.

We called The Skunk Whisperer because of what we thought were mouse droppings. He showed me why it was actually bat guano but did find mouse droppings and 3 snake skins in the attic when looking at the bat guano mess in the insulation. He took photos, brought them to us, gave solutions and answers for our tons of questions. They did an incredible amount of work sealing up our house for bats, snakes and mice. We switched to them for their natural pest control because of their professional manner and for what we got for the money. We were suprised at the extreme cost, but our neighbors had bats alone and paid TSW twice as much because like he said and quot;every house and price to fix the house is totally differentand quot;. At first, it seems like a lot of money, but not for what we got.

Not good a waste of a nice cell phone call.
Description of Work: Called the infamous skunk whisperer. I told him I trapped a skunk at my mother's house and needed it removed. He proceeded to ask me where the house (even though he had the address) was located as if it were located in a foreign country. Hello, you're in business in Tulsa, get a map, learn the city guy. I told him how to get there..real tough, take Hi-75, turn here etc.. Then he proceeds to ask me if the house was a rental...still boggles my mind on why that is relavant, then tells me that they aren't trappers. I'm thinking...ok, I have the animal trapped, you can let it go, then capture it, then pat yourself on the pack for being humane and then let it go in the wild for $$$$s. I really, really don't get this guy. He says "Why don't you just let it go". I said, I don't want to get sprayed, why do you think I'm calling you? You'd think he'd say, hey, thanks for calling us or sorry, but we can't help you. He actually said this "I guess I can refer you to our competition and give them $200 worth of business". I'm not paying anyone $200 to take vermin that I captured. A bullet is what 10 cents.

We do no think there is anything we could have done to make this caller happy. He wanted a free service to fix something he had illegally done. We offered to refer him, tell him how to do it himself and more, to no avail. 1. Many calls we get, such as from this gentleman, think that all our services should be done for free because they pay taxes or they have had the animal in the trap for a long time prior to calling us. 2. It is illegal to trap and relocate a skunk in Oklahoma without the proper permits. 3. He stated that he did not want to pay to have the animal removed, yet wrote a nasty comment when we would not do it for 10 cents? 4. This person called at 8:04AM on a Wednesday, we were likely booked for the day and could not drive out of town (not in Tulsa) to do free work so we offered to refer it to a different company, which is totally selfless; but, once again, he did not want to pay more than what a bullet would cost. 5. He gave a Tulsa address, not a Turley address. 6. If the property is a rental, sometimes the landlord will pay to have the property fixed, get rid of the skunk scent…

I had a few issues with this service. They wouldn't disclose who they were using as a sub contractor. I wanted to know who was in my home and I didn't appreciate the fact that they didn't disclose that information to me. Additionally I felt like they did a lackluster job re insulating the attic. To me it seemed that they just moved the insulation around, rather than adding more. What I will say is that the subcontractor they used to repair the chimney did a good job. Overall however, the experience was not a good one.

We did stellar work for you, always treated you in a professional manner and you tried to steal from us and bad mouth us in return. Complaining in an on-line forum 8 months after service? I won you an insurance claim for all of this work when you said it could not be done. You attempted to keep the all the insurance money right around Christmas & stiff us. I called you on breach of contract, refusing to do work for somebody stealing thousands of dollars from us, and asked for our money & you pleaded for us to complete the work. We were always up front as to who our insulation crew was and they added many bags of insulation into the attic while you watched. You inspected the attic afterwards, said it looked great and you have the insulation certificate. Your house was and is falling apart due to lack of pride in ownership. We removed the raccoons, cleaned up their damage, fixed the house, made it better than what is was when it was new and it did not cost you a single dime. We have never bent over backwards so much for a client and been more dissatisfied with ourselves for having the bad judgment of agreeing to work with you in the first place.

He would not come. I had to contact someone else.
Description of Work: I called "The Skunk Whisperer" to remove a large snake underneath my house. He said the only thing he could do was inspect my home and tell me how to repair the areas that a snake could enter my home. I wouldn't exactly call this animal removal or exterminating. I'm wondering if it was because I contacted him on a Friday afternoon.

1. If we did not come out, it is because you could not wait until the next week or did not want to pay our inspection or emergency charges. To actually take the time to write a bad review on our company because you did not plan ahead, because you had unreasonable expectations or did not want to pay is simply mean. 2. Our Mondays and Fridays fill up with emergency calls very quickly. If you call a company on a Monday or Friday & they can get somebody right out, there may be a reason for it. 3. If you can find somebody to crawl under your house and wrangle a snake out, please call them. We do not do any work without long-term prevention. We are not exterminators. 4. We do exclusion and eviction work. For snakes in a crawl space, we would seal all holes in your house except for the one it is using and place a device on that hole to make it so that when it came out, it could not re-enter. We guarantee our work. We repair the house to make it so the wildlife problem never happens again. If you just want bodies hauled off in hopes that the problem will not reoccur, we are not the company you want to hire. 5. Employees were prompt and knew their business. They were timely from beginning to end, even coming after hours to check on traps.
Description of Work: Inspection of attic area and all other areas in and around house. Traps set. Lures set. Returning each day until no sign of animal activity. All areas of ingress/egress were closed off over a week's time period, especially areas that needed repair work (which was done by the SW crew). These have all proved to work as no more critters are getting in.

It started with a bat in the house. Ned arrived the next day to inspect the attic to determine if a bat colony was living there. No bat colony was found, but there was evidence that they had been there. They continued with a course of exclusion and prevention. Birds and squirrels were not yet a problem, but our home was a "soft target" so exclusion was critical. We did eventually capture the bat in the house and immediately called Ned for advice. We put the bat in a coffee can, still alive. Ned met me at the health department where he humanely euthanized it so that it could be tested for rabies -- this is necessary if a bat is in your living space and you are at any time asleep in the home. Bats can bite you and their teeth are so tiny, you may be bitten and not know it. You MUST have the bat tested. Ned and team completed the job, and we have had no signs of wild critters sharing our home.
