Instead of supporting the community and local families after a catastrophic hurricane hit our area, Roofing by Homeplus is threatening to sue local families. Did they buy any supplies yet? NO! Did they do any work on our property? NO! Our family like many others suffered a great loss from hurricane Ian. While many local families are struggling to stay afloat, this company is trying to take advantage! Less than a week after hurricane hit they came out and they lied about the contract we signed and never followed up with the proper contract. We felt pressured and mislead during the process and made it known to the sales agent and owner. They were never willing to give a price for their services and we were told an updated contract would be provided and would include more details. After telling our sales agent we did not feel comfortable with the contract, the owner reached out and defended the way they “work” with insurance companies. What they really do is force people to sign direct pay authorizations and lead them to believe this is the only way. The conversation with the owner made us even more uncomfortable and we sent an email to Gary the sales agent saying once again we were uncomfortable with a direct to pay. His response was, “ If you are uncomfortable with direct pay let me speak with our GM. It might be revocable “. We assumed this is what he was going to do and for almost 15 weeks we heard nothing from them. This was such a relief. Then we received a phone call from a woman threatening to sue us if we weren’t going to use their company. They want money when they haven’t bought any supplies or done any work. They will harass you with rude phone calls and letters and demand you give them money for doing NOTHING! We have asked kindly to move on from this company as we have felt uncomfortable with them from the first stressful week after hurricane Ian. Their response has been to demand we pay them money for doing NOTHING! Do not fall victim to this company and do not let them take advantage of you!
Description of Work: A tarp was provided after hurricane Ian and they were paid for this service. Nothing else was purchased or done.

When we were approved for a new roof, Roofing by Home Plus was recommended to us by a friend. I also got quotes from 2 other companies before making a decision. We chose Home Plus because we were impressed with the customer service provided and lucky for us, they were low bid too. They are a local company and the workers are their employees, they do not contract out for anything. They were professional, courteous and completely on time with the schedule provided. They cleaned up and made sure they scanned for nails. I am very impressed with this company and the work they did for us. You will not be disappointed when you use Home Plus for your roof. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Salesman is arrogant, ignorant and obnoxious. Said would leave a detailed written quote, left a quote sheet with nothing but a price 6 x more than what repairs should cost. When I asked him for details on the repair (what a professional company would put on a document) he got mad aggressive and obnoxious. Funny the quote sheet refers to materials, warranties as standard language but nothing was written in detail whatsoever? BEWARE. Here is the definition of a sales quote "commercial statement detailing a set of products and services to be purchased in a single transaction by one party from another for a defined price." Don't waste your time typical Florida unprofessional rip-off company.
Description of Work: Needed simple roof repairs.

The work began on schedule and the work started early and ended late even for the hot summer days. I was quite taken with the finished roof and the assistance with financial goals.
Description of Work: We requested a quote for a roof replacement. A quote was provided along with samples of material and color. They took the time to review the entire contract and review areas of cost over runs. A schedule was set and kept.

Everything went fine until problems arose. Their project manager/salesman (who said he was always on call) said he was off work and not wiling to discuss issues when I called him. Their crew punctured our a/c lines. Not their responsibility. Read all the fine print carefully. They are not responsible for much. Their salesman/project manager started out and appeared to be very trustworthy until the problems started then he was awol. Cost us hundreds of dollars for a/c repair and pool work. They only partially covered our pool with a tarp. Saw dust was either dropped or blew into the pool (big mess). Quoted low price ($9,800.00) then with all add one final bill was almost $12,500.00. Think before you sign a contract with this company.

The company was very responsive with a quote and arrived to do the job quickly. The workmanship was fair. Due to the language barrier, it was difficult to communicate with most of the workers. The initial person who came to our house to quote the work, got on the roof, stomped around and told us that on the east side of the house, the entire valley had to be completely replaced with plywood, underlayment, shingles, etc. We were also told that on the north side of the house, all the fascia, drip edge, plywood and drip edge had to removed and replaced in an area about 4' x 1'. Based on the initial inspection and the verbal explanation from the "quote man", we EXPECTED to see the valley shingles be removed, the valley underlayment and plywood to be exposed, inspected and replaced. We EXPECTED to see everything happen as the "quote man" told us. But, it did NOT happen this way at all. The company actually did VERY little for a HUGE price.
Description of Work: One east side of house: Removed and replaced two pieces of wood at edge of soffit where one roof valley meets. Removed and replaced approximately 8 shingles in same area. On north side of house: Removed drip edge in an area about 4' x 1', inspected, replaced one board and re-nailed old drip edge. Replaced a couple of shingles.

In Oct. of 2012 a salesman for Homeplus roofing, who I had called, came to my house. I showed him the 3 areas that had leaked through to the ceiling. I asked him if he thought he could repair them or replace the whole roof. He said, " Don't waste your money, I can repair them and guarentee the work". The crew made the repairs in 2-1/2 days with 3 people. On Feb. 14, 2013 I had a heavy rainfall. Two of the areas they were to fix, were leaking badly, ( worse then before they "repaired" them). Supervisor finally sent crew on Feb 25, 2013 to make repairs. the next heavy rainfall was Apr. 5, 2013. I called the office and complained, Supervisor called back and said the leak is coming from somewhere else. I reminded him that he had told me "we'll fix the leaks in your roof" not some of the leaks. Finally I gave up on trying to get them back to make repairs, I called a number of roofing companies in August of 2013, After reviewing the bids, I gave the job to Crowther roofing. I'm extremely pleased with all aspects of my dealings with Crowther Roofing and would highly reccomend them.

The company is great and came highly recommended but I couldn't justify their cost. It was my highest bid.

The company was very professional and honest about what was involved and their price while not the lowest bid we recieved was fair. There was no high pressure to sign the contract (as opposed to a competitor) and they even shipped three boxes of tile samples to us in Minnesota so we could see the colors first hand. They took their time and did a fantastic job installing the roof and the workmanship was perfect. They cleaned up everyday and took great care not to damage our driveway and landscaping. We are very pleased with the way our house looks with the new tile roof.
Description of Work: Roofing by HomePlus removed the tile roof and underlayment, repaired damaged and rotted sheathing and installed a new water barrier and tile roofing.
