RM Collins Inc

Initailly RMCollins was very cooperative and came out when scheduled. However in a very short time we began having issues. Plasters and painters broke objects and despite covering things for days splattered paint and plaster on furniture and window dressings. Company said they would take care of this but never did. The company supervisor worked with us initailly to pick the right wall and ceiling colors and glosses. The painter however never got it right and the living room walls are the same gloss as the kitchen, which part of is semi-gloss and part glossy finish. The worker were very careless and always left a mess. They used the master bathroom toliet and left it looking like something at a gas station. They used our tools to clean up but never cleaned up the tools. The job supervisor keep saying she would get with her folks but nothing got corrected. The fixing of the ceiling was fair at best. The cracks were retaped and plastered but are clearly visable. Clean up and care of our stuff very poor. The painter so messed up rehooking up our TV the cable company had to come and fix it. $700 recliner love seat, leather couch and customer window were splattered with plaster and paint. Only remaining picture of parents splattered with plaster. Two sets of coasters broken. These work was done by RM Collins staff. Fixing of roof and gutter OK I guess. Looks OK and seems to work. However I had to finally clean up the mess left by workers. This work was done by subcontractors. Repair and painting on porch. Looks OK. Rescreening by subcontractor OK. Paint was spilled on newly completed resurfaced floor. No effort to clean it up. Repair of electrical fixture put off till last and because of the intial issue caught fire. Had I not requested work be done by licensed electrician rather than RM Collins staff the fire would have been worse. Had to repair and repaint wall that had already been repaired and repainted.RM Collins staff did nice job of replacing broken outside outlet COVER, but never ever fixed the broken floodlight. RM Collins did OK on replacing the new doors we had already purchased. At least it looked good. However the door are not level and swing shut when open. The door leading to the tile floor was not resealed and there is a 1/4 gap between the tile and the bottom of the door frame. Intially I thought the wood floor they installed for us was great. The best thing they had done. However they looked at the job and gave us a price. Then after they removed the carpet said the floor was not level and it would cost us an extra $100. When the bill came it was an extra $150. The floor at first looked good however as time goes on the gaps get bigger and the floor squeaks more. I installed the wood floor in another room and it doesn't sound this bad. The real kicker with RM Collins is that we had another insurance claim 16 months ago and because our insurance company said RM Collins was the Premier company we used them. The work they did then was marginal but they also scratched up the top of our bathroom vanity. Mr. Collins and his staff said they would take care of it. They never did!! This time Mr. Collins again promised he would take care of vanity top if we use him for this job. Not so, never did. He did have one of his guys recaulk the shower. We tried to get Mr. Collins to finish the items he had committed to. However after not getting any return calls or action from him or his office staff for almost 90 days we advise him by hand delivered letter and certified mail if he did nothing the we would pay him nothing more. Not have heard anything we have hired other companies to complete the work. My advise is you run away from this company, RM Collins. If your insurance company suggest you use them tell them NO!! I nhave not idea what there problem is but I would avoid them at all costs.
