they have stated they are vaction. They were supposed to acid wash the jacuzzi and did not. There are cracks in the grout surrounding the tile. They have left concrete that i have to clean up. I ask them to let me to unlock the door and they scratched it up by cutting the wire off. They have left the jacuzzi feeling very rough. He has subcontracted the work out and i feel that his work is slipping. I have contacted them on the 11th and have not heard from them since.

I know the summer rains can throw off the chemical balance of the pool water. What really disturbed me was my going into the pool one day (we have a fiberglass pool) to find that no matter where I ran my finger on the sides or moved my feet on the floor of the pool, I could see it was definitely in need of a good brushing. One of their fellows (we didn't see him after a while) left a gate to our back yard open, our schnauzer pups getting out, unbeknownst to us. When I brought this to the fellow's attention the following week, he sort of brushed off my comment in favor of, "I don't know if you noticed I did a really good job on your pool last week," as if this deserved special notice when his "really good job" should have been a weekly occurrence.
Description of Work: I signed up for weekly pool maintenance.. I was not disappointed with their repair when there was a problem, although those repairs always seemed to come with an additional cost of $90 plus parts. We were already paying $90 a month, which was $30 more than our previous provider. What disturbed me was Gordon's inability to find really good people to do the weekly work. Maybe this is a problem many pool companies have. With the new provider we took on August 1st, Steve has been with Grandslam since it began, so I think that speaks well.

Thanks for taking the time to critique our services. We recognized the problem with this employee. We also apologize for leaving the gate open. That action is never acceptable. We have taken the appropriate action concerning the employee. As fiberglass pools age, they start to shed their gel coat. This will lead to a white powder residue on the walls and floor. No amount of brushing will stop this process. It can be reduced by increasing the calcium hardness of the pool water which we do. However, this process is ongoing. The only solution is have the gel coat renewed. As to repairs, we do charge a $95 service call which covers diagnostic services as well. This charge also covers overhead such as licensing, insurance (including public liability, workers comp as required by state law) and a stocked truck with a trained repair tech.

I'd used this company for 10 years. The work was fairly involved and was going to be done while I was out of town. I expressed concern that the man quoting the work (the owner, Barrie) was not the man who would be doing the work. He assured me that between the photos he was taking and the detailed instructions he'd give his tech, the work would be done properly. When I got home, I found some horrendous work, and sent the owner this email (edited for length).I can’t tell you how shocked and disappointed I was when I arrived back home over the weekend and saw the re-piping done on my pool. Either you gave the technician none of the instructions you told me you would, or he just didn’t follow them.1. You said it would be placed on pavers – it is not.2. You said it would be raised up – it is not.3. You said both ground wires would be attached – they are not4. You said he’d replace the piping back to the filter – he did not.5. If the Jandy valve was replaced, he used the old cover. Looks atrocious.6. You have got to see the ridiculous vertical U he put in the line to install the in-line chlorinator. It’s an embarrassment. You couldn't have paid me to let you do that to my piping! (NOTE: I called the manufacturer of that chlorinator and they told me the U-bend was improper. It should have a check valve or it will destroy the heat exchanger on my pool's heat pump.)7. Tell him to start using a level and make his right angles actual right angles The whole job is an embarrassment. There’s no way I’m going to be able to look at this mess for the next ten years or so, and I can’t have people seeing that work. They'll think less of me and I'll have to answer all kinds of questions like and quot;Why did they do it like this?and quot; You should see that chlorinator installation! I can’t believe he managed to make my filter piping more laughable than it already was! This is absolutely the last time I ever buy anything from anyone who isn’t actually going to do the work himself. If I wanted it to look ridiculous, I would have done it myself. I could have hired anyone to just slap it in and not put any thought whatsoever into workmanship and what’s best for the customer. You may recall that, due to the lousy original installation, I only have a limited number of times this can be re-done. You've just wasted on of them, because this has to be re-done. This is going to force me to have to jack hammer part of my deck eventually. This is so below the standards I’m used to from Gordon’s that I just can’t believe my eyes. The owner emailed back this response:and quot;I am sorry that you are so disappointed in the work. Of course there will not be a charge. I take full blame as I did notcommunicate the requirements well.and quot; I sent this email back:The pump has started leaking at the outlet. The automatic chlorinator makes a and quot;winding downand quot; sound when the pump is shut off. (NOTE: I called the manufacturer and let their technician hear that sound over the phone and he said their chlorinators don't make that sound; that something is wrong.) The job was never done to your specifications. When I ran an air conditioning service company, the installers occasionally did not do the job the way the customer was told it would be done. Sometimes the things we installed broke or leaked. We always offered to come out and do the job right. I have used your company for all my pool's mechanical repairs exclusively for 10 years. Are you interested in keeping me as your customer? It's not really my fault that you didn't convey your instructions to your technician, that the chlorinator makes noise, and that the joints leak. He responded by saying he'd be over to take a look at the job, and that was the last I heard from him. He never showed or called. He let a loyal customer of 10 years walk away. The entire job was re-done by Pool Doctor. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

They took care of the sensor problem and offered to repair the heater since it is pretty old and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. They have done work for us several times over the last 10 years and I have always been satisfied.
