Short story..., DO NOT buy at Good Deals. Their service and return policy are awful! Nice salespeople, but everything else is terrible. Here's my story. Lowes and Good Deal's package prices matched almost exactly, but my wife (who'd done the comparison shopping) liked the salesman at Good Deals so we gave them the business, though I'd always used Lowes..., I'm a builder, I have schedules and don't need problems. Problems started almost immediately. First, though delivery was "free" they wanted extra ($150!) to bring the appliances inside the house and set them in place instead of the garage. Then they didn't make their first delivery date. When they finally showed up they unloaded a stove that wasn't wrapped, and when I complained they said they would sometimes unwrap appliances at the warehouse to check for damage and if there wasn't any they'd put it on the truck. I wasn't happy about it, but I was behind schedule and didn't see any damage so it stayed. When I finally muscled the refrigerator into the house (I had to unwrap it to get through the door) and put it in the space in the kitchen I saw it was too big for the corner and I needed to exchange it for a "cabinet depth" model. My mistake. When I finally got through to that nice salesman, I was told there was a 30% (almost $300) re-stocking fee! Lowes has NO "restocking fee". My mistake again. After waiting around for 1/2 hour and talking with the manager (hoping for a break) they reluctantly matched Lowes price for the "cabinet depth" refrigerator and charged me a total of $540 for the FULL re-stocking fee and the price difference of the new refrigerator. I was on a tight schedule so I just paid up and they said they could deliver in a week (Lowes had one in stock). Three days later they called to say two to three weeks. I went to get a refund, waited around again, got the refund receipt, drove across the street and bought the refrigerator at Lowes. It was delivered the next morning, placed in the kitchen, unpacked, hooked-up, and tested, boom, done, just like Lowes always does (for free). Bottom line, I'm out almost $300 for a "re-stocking" fee and I know damned well some sucker is going to receive a full-price refrigerator that was "unwrapped at the warehouse" just like my stove. To add insult to injury I'm still waiting for the $1300 refund to show up in my account. I will never do business with those yahoos again. Everybody's got the same appliances (actually Lowes has their own models, which have better features at the same price) so it all boils down to service, and Good Deals 'ain't a Good Deal. Go with Lowes!
Description of Work: We bought an entire household of appliances and had them delivered to a home we're remodeling.

microwave was not delivered to store as promised and trim kit was backordered. When I ordered, the two items were checked to make sure they were available. Come to find out, after the fact, the one item was not available. Was unable to cancel order because it was a special order item so I was stuck waiting. Was told order would be in on Wednesday afternoon. I arrived at the store late Friday, and was told it was not in. After checking the computer again, it was in and at the warehouse. The warehouse was closed and I would need to make another trip to pick it up at the warehouse on Saturday. I drove to the warehouse which is at a dead end street in and old industrial park. I was alone and didn't feel safe. The warehouse clerk saw me and put the microwave in my car for me. Thank goodness...I can get out of this place. I couldn't believe the purchase process. I was told it didn't matter which store of theirs i purchased the product, I would still need to go to the warehouse for pickup, not the store. Next time, I will order the appliance from best buys or lows, even if I have to pay a little more. I wanted to support local business but the process to get a simple microwave was insane. The staff was condescending to me to boot. Not a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Purchased a new countertop microwave and matching trim kit.

They left about two days between taking my old one and installing the new one. My new dishwasher didn't fit exactly so they told me I had to hire a carpenter before they could install the new dishwasher.
Description of Work: They sold me my dishwasher and minor appliances. They took my old dishwasher away and installed my new one.

We contacted the main office and finally reached someone to replace the part. They told us it would be on back order and that we would have to wait for it. We waited and waited and finally called them back to find out where it was. They informed us it was in and that they would be sending someone out to repair the warranted item. The man that came out told us it was the wrong part, so we started over again. After a difficult time getting anywhere with this, they finally decided to replace the barbeque with another duplicate one. This one had a failing side burner as well.
Description of Work: We had purchased a new barbeque grill from them and were given a 2 year warranty for the parts and service. The side burner wasn t working at all, so we contacted them to replace it. No other charges were given.
