CAMP-RIGBY ROOFERS In March 2016 we contracted with Camp-Rigby to replace our aging roof at the recommendation of a highly respected local contractor, who went to bat for us when things started going south. In March we were given an early June start date. Finally in July we finally got our old roof removed, and a couple of palettes of tiles were placed in our driveway. The trash container holding the resultant refuse was left in front of the home for days until we finally got through to someone at C-R to have it removed. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. I was told that the forms were confusing them, then that the issue was Collier County regulations requiring tie downs for every corner . When I was told that in engineer needed to check to make sure we were up to the new code, I agreed. Shortly after, I received a call from Mr Camp Senior to tell me he had cancelled the engineer, because the law does not require us to tie down every corner, it could double the cost of the roof job, that already this job had been mishandled from the beginning - they just wanted to get the job done for me. Isn’t that what we wanted? My response was we only do one roof every 20 years or so, and we want our home up to code. He was not happy. It was inspected anyway. Turned out, the roof was already tied down and up to current code. Total cost, a few hundred dollars. After months of daily calling (with virtually none of which were returned even by staff) with no return calls from Anyone. Then the attempt to scare me into a rush job. Finally, in September, the roof that was supposed to be done by end of June, was completed. In 2017 we had a small issue with the flat roof (NOT part of the Camp-Rigby job). When our new roofer tried to pull a permit, he learned that Camp-Rigby had never closed out the old permit and money was due. We paid it. In 2017, we learned that Camp-Rigby filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. There goes our Warranty. Now we are in 2018...with a LEAK in Camp-Rigby tile roofing job next to our chimney which requires nearly $11,500 in roof repair, as well as water restoration, Sheetrock and built in cabinetry removal and restoration. I can not recommend Camp-Rigby.

The estimator was punctual and professional. In addition, the work was scheduled quickly and the work was done to our satisfaction...on time with no surprises. Also, they cleaned up very well and were friendly and courteous.

1 - I had leak in wall which I incorrectly attributed to roof and had CR come out, since they had installed my roof. They correctly assessed problem as pipe in wall, not roof. Then bill came. Over $700 for 2 guys to come out for less than 1 hour, walk around roof, re-seal a couple of small vents and tell me it was probably plumbing issue! Not only are their hourly rates high, they insist on sending 2 people and you pay their time and distance. They adjusted bill some when I complained, but it was still much too high. 2 - When I did develop real roof leak more recently I opted not to go with CR due to their expense. Had stone-coated metal tiles, installed by CR, with 3 year warranty. The leak, of course, occurred at 4 years, 1 year outside of warranty! This made me question their quality with this product anyway. Called manufacturer of my roof product and asked for recommendations. Firstly he was shocked that their warranty was only three years when industry-standard is five years. Secondly, he provided name of excellent roofing company that routinely installs their product, that ultimately repaired roof for $375, spending well over six hours on the job! Can't imagine what CR would have charged for this!
Description of Work: 2 separate issues: Problem 1 - leak in wall ultimately not related to roof. Problem 2 - leak in stone coated metal roof that had been installed 4 years ago by CR.

The chimney flashing started leaking 2 months past their 5 year warranty on workmanship. See my previous review from 2008. They wanted to charge me just to come look at the problem but I talked them into coming at no charge. They gave me 2 different solutions to the problem. The second solution was a scam because I already had a cricket on the chimney which they installed when they re-shingled the roof in 2008. I was not able to be there when they came for the estimate because this is a seasonal home. My next door neighbor met with the man who came out and my neighbor told me the man never got on the roof nor did he bring a ladder with him. So how do you give an estimate for repair without seeing the problem? During this same time period I had a new chimney cap and pan put on by a great company. See the separate review for Chimneys by Oz. That repair is what discovered that Camp Rigby had not removed my old siding from the chimney before putting on the new siding. I have photos of this issue and contacted Tim at Camp Rigby. I forwarded the photos to him since I had paid for them to remove the old siding. Needless to say I have never heard from them. Please DO NOT use this company.
Description of Work: Gave an estimate for repairing a leak occurring around the chimney. One estimate was just to fix the flashing and the other was to build a cricket behind the chimney.

The workers were great but the office personnel could use some customer service skills. I had a very difficult time getting them to give me a wind mitigation form for insurance purposes. They were supposed to remove the old siding from the chimney but I have since found out that did not happen. Keep in mind this review was for work done in 2008. I will be writing a separate review for services requested in 2013.
Description of Work: Re-shingled roof and put new hardie board on the chimney.
