We both sent emails back and forth after he came to give an estimate. The price seemed fair enough though it took 3 weeks to get a written estimate. With the estimate came his "Terms" which required a contract be signed and payment in full for materials and half of his labor cost when he arrived to do the job. A date to do the work was agreed on and the day before he was to start my husband emailed him inquiring the time he was expecting to arrive so we would be here to meet the terms he required. He responded saying he would be here the next morning at 9:30 and did we understand his terms. My husband replied that we did. At 10:30 that evening, the day before he was to start, we got an email from him saying he decided he was not going to do the job because we did not meet the terms of his contract because he required a "verbal commitment 3 emails ago". NEVER in his contract or on any email was anything said about a verbal commitment. I don't understand how he stays in business with this attitude and "Terms"!
Description of Work: He was to install a small fence with a gate (total of 12’) from our house to our neighbor’s fence.
