ACRA ELECTRIC

I have recommended Acra to countless customers in the past but after my last experience with their service department I have lost all confidence in this company and will never recommend them again to any of my customers.

I am very happy with Acra electric. We needed to replace and upgrade our over-loaded 50 year-old main panel. The job went smoothly from first contact by telephone (answered immediately) to completion, in spite of a problem created by FP&L. Jean, in the office, went beyond the call of duty by relaying information from FP&L to me and Nastor, the electrician on the job. Nastor, spoke beautiful English, did excellent work and patiently listened to my questions and accepted (cautiously) my offers to help. We uncovered a bad connection and melted insulation on a main line which was also replaced. Even with the extra work required, our repair/upgrade was completed on time and on budget. With the power off for several hours, I was worried that my ice cream would melt so I did not open the Fridge or freezer all day. Good news! My ice cream was still frozen. I am so happy.

Brilliant design and execution. They are wonderful. Have used them extensively over the last few years.

I contact ACRA to have an electrician come and resolved the power outage. I received a prompt call from "Dan" who said he would arrive in several hours. Dan arrived as promised, and was able to determine a wire (obscured by drywall) had been accidentally nicked from the other contractors. He repaired the damaged areas and restored the power. I would thoroughly recommend ACRA and would not hesitate to contact them again. Everyone was pleasant and professional. The price was very competitive and reasonable.

I called ACRA electric Tuesday afternoon and explained the problem, Mike arrived Wednesday morning and quickly diagnosed the problem. An hour later we plugged in the boat and everything worked perfectly. Mike was very professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Will definitely use him for all of our future electrical needs.

The technician showed up in the window of time they told me he would be there. He was knowledgable and professional. He gave me an estimate of the cost of the work to be done and explained it thoroughly. He then completed the job same day. He showed me how they system worked and adjusted it to my recommendations. He was thorough and made it clear that if I had any problems to contact him and he would be happy to respond.

They do all kinds of electrical work. They are excellent. They were also here 4 or 5 months ago for some warranty work and they took the lead in the warranty work and it ended up in costing me nothing. I've got complete repairs on the motors on the fork lift. I should say really extraordinary and honest service. Pricing is also very fair.

They were very busy, but squeezed me in just to find out it was a couple switches and then didn't even charge me. Dan Carey the Service Manager was professional and courteous.

During the home inspection on the house we are selling we discovered the electric panel (circuit breaker box) was made by Pacific Federal Electric. We have learned these were very popular in the 70s, but also had many problems and insurance companies don't want provide coverage. We had to take care of this immediately. Acra Electric has handled all of our electrical needs for years, so we gave them a call. They ensured us that they replace many of these boxes each month in the Cape. The price we were provided seem fair and we contracted with them. They provided all permits and coordinated with LCEC to complete the job with power off to the whole house for approximately 8 hours. Jonathan arrived at 8 am and got ready for LCEC to arrive. His portion of the job was completed within several hours with the remainder of the work time involved waiting for the inspectors and LCEC to repower the house. Everything worked out well on a hot July day without power. From start to finish Acra provided a professional service. A job well done. I would highly recommend this company. No surprises plus will answer any questions you may have with your electrical needs.

GREAT !! Spoke with the owner Robert who gave me his most experienced electrician due to the difficulty in the situation. Client's Homeowner Insurance was cancelled due to a General Contractor stating the wiring was and quot;cloth wiringand quot; in error. After much research found out that cloth wiring was not used in the 1960's. Client previously had another Electric Company, JerMar to do a repair. In calling them they did not take the time to verify that it was fiberglass wiring, said it was cloth in the garage where the repair was done and imagined the entire house was cloth wiring. Called several Electric Companies, and could not speak with the owner to explain the complex situation. I had used ACRA in the past and was very pleased with their knowledge and results achieved. . Robert immediately transferred me to Dan Carey, who completely understood the situation. Gave Dan the clients name and phone number. He made an appointment to meet with the client the very next morning and verified that it was not cloth wiring and wrote a very clear explanation of the wiring. That letter allowed her insurance to be reinstated. She was without insurance for months due to trying to find an Electrician who was knowledgeable and would take the time to care and listen to the situation. They are the best in the area. Would not go to another electric company. Electric is serious and you want experienced professionals to do any electrical work. From start to finish, they are WONDERFUL to work with. Chandelier and bathroom look great. The electrician was very polite, considerate and, can you believe it, cleaned up and left all area's the way he found them. Everything he did works great too. I also like that he wasn't there all day. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing electrical work.

I called the company to ask for an electrician to answer some basic questions. The gentleman answered the questions and sent me back to the operator to set up an appointment for someone to come to the house to review and give a quote. The person was to be a Dan, but we never heard from him or the company.

No problem with the work, it was done in a professional manner and on a timely basis. My only complaints (suggestions) are that they would give more information about the company and about the options available for the particular job. Billing was good--no money asked for until a couple of weeks after the job was completed. It seems to be a common theme in SW Florida that the contractors don't bother giving much information about their companies--I would like to know the history of the company, any certifications held, license information, and know if they are members of any trade organizations. Also, a copy of their insurance coverage and a list of references I could contact would give more credibility. Overall, no real complaints about the work, timeliness, or cost--would use again.

The servicemen were extraordinarily slow 95% of the time. This was time and materials so don't know if that had anything to do with it. They installed globe lights on patio approximately 25 feet in air. One of the globes came off and crashed on a sitting area. Fortunately no one was outside. Now have to have someone check the others to make sure properly installed. 2 of the fans they installed had to be adjusted since they were not properly balanced. I would have thought they would have checked them. Other fans I have had installed have never needed this immediately after installation. Globe lights put up on balcony did not have lights in them so we had to get ladder and put lights in. I would have thought they would havre mentioned that we need lights before they installed.They did not keep a clean work area and left trash for us to clean up. To be fair we negotiated a price settlement but when you hire a vendor you shouldn't have to have a dispute. Personally I have crossed them off my vendor list.

Terrible. Most of what was done was either not completed or not properly finished. The electrician had a different color switch so my three panel switch is now two colors and does not lay flat against the wall. They had to come back and charged me again and still did not complete the job. The manager was very rude on the phone with me. Not only did I have to pay this company but I had to pay another electrician to finish the job and correct the problems created by this company. A very expensive lesson! The owner sent someone out to my house to fix one of the problems and also issued a refund for the second service call charge. The other issues were already taken care of by someone else. I appreciate the fact that they made the effort, however, it should have been taken care of when I called to complain not after I posted a negative review. Still, when the owner became aware of the problems he attempted to remedy the situation.

Acru electric was recommended to me by the dock builder. The quote took almost a week highest price of all 3 quotes Five weeks to finish a one day job no phone calls to let me know when they would start they arrived to start only after I called (two-three weeks after I accepted the quote) started the job one day then I had to call two weeks later to see when they where coming back to finish During the time the contractors were here I discovered they knocked loose a double 60 amp breaker witch caused an arc that melted my panel. After the work was performed my hot water heater wouldn't work, which was odd because it has worked fine for 2 years. I asked the electrician to take a look and he said the contact was loose and it arced as he was showing me the damage I touched the melted plastic to show him something and he said, and quot;I’m not sure if you realize what you just didand quot;. Well apparently he did not turn off main breaker and the panel was live and all the wires exposed. I could have been electrocuted if my figure touch 1mm to the left. 200amps I asked the Electrician to fix the damage they had caused and he refused saying that I caused the damage. The electrician said that the manager would call but all I got was an invoice for $2087 the next day in the mail. I emailed the president with my concerns, he responded back and we meet the next day and he offered that I pay him $1800 and we close. $287 for a $1500 panel? I said I wanted my property to be the same as when they arrived and its not about saving money its about safety and he said and quot;I will see you in courtand quot; I’m very disappointed to say the least. The receptionist gave my information to the service man and he called me before the day was over, came out the same day to make repairs. He was pleasant, polite, very professional and knowledgeable. I will definitely call Acra with any future electrical needs!

After a scheduling mix-up, the two marine electricians arrived with all the proper tools, equipment and a small boat (to use while working under the dock). They went about the job while confering with me to be sure they were meeting my expectations. They were professional and very responsive.

Carl, and everybody at Acra, did a first class job from the initial estimate to the final product. They did what they said they would do. The work was finished on time and in budget. Great people to work with.

They are very good, very reliable. They came on time and fixed my problem right away. I was told by another company that one of my switches didn't work, but he tested it and assured me that it did, and left a spare just in case.
