Rocky (the owner) was very responsive until I signed the contract. From that point forward there was no more communication with/from him. When we set plans for the work to begin he needed my girlfriend and I to be present to pick the colors, we set to meet at nine, his workers showed up 45 minutes late. I called him twice while waiting to confirm the timeline and when to choose colors, leaving a voice mail after the second call. He never called me back. After that though the workers were there on time. Overall communication with his employees was good, I had a lot of questions and they were able to answer them. When the job was complete there was no followup from Rocky and the job site was left poorly cleaned up. There were cigarette butts in the garage (I don't smoke), the bathroom door they took off was left off and the tile in the bathroom had concrete residue on it. On all the sides of the front porch concrete dripped off into the garden and was not cleaned up. They borrowed one of my 5 gal. buckets to mix concrete and ended up taking it with them. The work itself has been okay, with many mistakes made. The front porch and the bathroom look great. Only issue I've had up with is cleaning them off isn't very easy as the concrete is abrasive and catches on rags or any kind of soft material. Outside is fine because I can just hose it off. Inside is more of a challenge to get it clean. The kitchen was poorly done. Some areas of the backer board (area beneath the concrete) were unsupported and pressure has caused it to crack and cave. Other areas I am getting straight line cracks that run the length of the backer board. The colors were poorly blended and some areas are a pearl white while other areas are a splotchy red, with drips of stain that look like food or wine stains, but are now impossible to remove. For small areas and covering up concrete or tile this product is great. A large kitchen though or over plywood I would not recommend. If decorative concrete is the right solution for your home, I highly recommend that you are present when they are staining the concrete. Watch their work carefully and make them fix any mistakes before sealing. Rocky mentioned a 1 year warranty against cracks, I've sent him a couple emails concerning the issues I've come up with and haven't heard from him. Don't trust the warranty, only have them pour the concrete over tile or concrete, watch them during the staining process and if you do all that I would recommend this as a floor solution, otherwise there are plenty of other options.

Met with Rocky at his showroom and he explained the entire process in detail with all the advantages of using Granicrete instead of actual granite. Came out to take measurements in kitchen and provided a binding estimate. Was concerned about the installation time but the countertops were fabricated and installed in the kitchen 2 days ahead of schedule. Work exceeded our expectations and would definitely use Rock Solid Surfaces in the future!
