I have had nothing but issues from the very beginning with Bob's Carpet. Bob's Carpet subcontracted all the work for my tile, and I have since had at least 5-6 different groups of tile layers out to my house to try and fix it for me. They first came out and tore up 60+ tiles in my home. They then installed the new tiles in which I purchased. The tiles where installed very poorly, and were not level or inline at all. It is clear that this job has had lots of poor workmanship. The carpet installation went without issue. I have continued to complain to Bob's Carpet, and they keep sending out new crews to try and fix my tile. The manager has been out to my home multiple times, and has told me over and over again that my tiles are fine. I have had other companies out to take a look at it, and try and clean it, and many companies refuse to help me as they say the workmanship is so poor. This situation has been incredibly frustrating for me, as I have been dealing with it since January. All I want for them to do is make it right for me, and wish that they were willing to help me. I would recommend that no one pays up front for any project with Bob's Carpet, and has a written warranty and description of the work for their project.

My company has spent a few thousand dollars just on labor to fix all concerns. Regarding her tile floor we have made a fair and honest effort to please (Member name removed) including heavily discounting carpet for living room dining room and master bedroom in addition we have sent a cleaning company to give the area's we worked on a extensive cleaning and I was there after the cleaning company was done and in front of the cleaning woman she was extremely happy to have her house back in order again. (Member name removed) own word's.

Description of Work: Office staff couldn't find our order, was misplaced in another area of the store. Kept getting the order for the transition strips wrong. Took over a month to finally get the job done. Very rude reps (male), didn't want to talk to me, and did say to another rep that I didn't know what I was talking about. I have been in the customer service industry for many years, and I have never seen such poor service.

They listened to my wife, made suggestions, helping her pick out her tile. The salesman was very helpful, going further than most, spending as much time as we needed. The tile was sold at a very competitive price.

Our complaint is not with the sales person or with the installers. They were all wonderful! My complaint is with management. We have had to have it cleaned 5 times in the first year, the carpet frays, and it cannot be repaired. We are very dissatisfied with this carpet. The salesman was very nice, but as soon as we had a problem and began dealing with upper management, we have been having problems. Corporate sent us a letter saying that the damage was our problem. We insisted that it wasn’t just us, so they suggested we have the carpet tested. They said that if they send someone from Shaw to test it, I would have to pay for it! They said that they would pay for it if the problem was a manufacturer problem. The results came back and said that the treads that have come loose were because of vacuuming. This HAS happened because the carpet is frayed at the end where the carpet ends. When the vacuum went from the carpet to the tile, the vacuum pulled a thread and it pulled all the way across the room. They will not take any responsibility or offer any discount to replace this.
Description of Work: We chose burber carpet by Shaw, because it was supposed to be stain resistant since it is made with mostly man made fiber.

I would be totally remiss if I did not let you know how pleased I am with the work your company did when replacing my flooring. I drove by my home to check the status of the floor and I was amazed to watch the large installers working together! The supervisor introduced himself and was very friendly and professional, and the other man working on the project was smiling. The office professionals were very knowledgeable and more like friends than dealing with a unknown flooring company. The next day when I was able to see the workmanship in its entirety, I was blown away with how perfect everything was. The Cobra three ridge vent was in, the extra details was there and the color of the shingles were exactly what I wanted. I had been told by several neighbors to be careful after having a new floors put in due to all the dust and scraps that would be left around my house and the driveway would be covered because the men would park in the driveway. witch they did not. I was excited to see that everything was back in place, scraps, no trash ( and they even vacuumed) and really there was no sign that any work had even been done except for my beautiful new hardwood floors. Be assured, I am going to tell all my friends about your company and recommend you highly. Please feel free to use me as a reference anytime. We THOUGHT the selection process based on our needs, quality of product, warranty, how it would stand up with pets, and how it would look after being installed and walked on, vacumned, etc, how we were told how easy it was to clean and care for, the company stands behind their products and service. Mike the salesman came to our house with the sample of the carpet says how well this willl work in our house. Install date set up, installers came, did a great job with installation, taking care with our things, efficient and done quickly. We liked what we saw. We even gave the installers an extra $40 afterwards. Mike the salesman has never made one effort since than to either call or send a postcard, etc., to inquire about not only the quality of the carpet, the installation, thank you for your business......nothing. Yet, I went over to a friends house whom I told about Bobs carpet, who now had carpet installed in their home, they not only got a phone call afterwards, but they received a folder containing the warranty, how to clean carpet, the purchase document and a phamlet about the carpet. I looked everything over, they paid about $200 less than us for a better carpet with almost the same amount of carpet. Theirs looked great!!! Ours on the other hand, looks terrible, is wearing quickly, the carpet fibers were still being vacumed up for 7 months, full bags of fibers. We were told 2 months this would happen. I now have to vacume more than I did with the previous carpet because it looks lousy, shows everything!! I have a $400 Sears vacumnethat after using it, the carpet barely looks any better, it still lays flat. We even now purchased a couple of big area rugs to put down so that the room looks a little better. Absolutly, not one (1) stain will come out of the carpet, whether it be drop of coffee, soda, regular dirt, nothing has come off. Even where you rest your feet while sitting in a chair in the livingroom the area is worn. As you walk into the kitchen if you are barefooted, you would get pricked by the staples already coming through, this area is also wearing lower, including every entrance way. Now, this all started doing this almost 8 months ago. But, not only does time go by fast, but there are a lot of things happening throughout our lives during this period preventing us from attempting to handle the problem, including the fact that we were fighting with ourselves that this shouldn't be happening already. We finally made it back to the store where we talked with the manager, Keith, who began to tell us all about our wonderful carpet we purchased from his salesman, Mike, whom we trusted and depended on honest opinion, selection and knowledge of product. This carpet we purchased is mainly used as Keith said, for flipping houses, apartments and quick jobs for show. This is the 2nd to the worse carpet they sell. It probably will wear within 2 years. He told us everything that Mike should have but didn't! Than Keith, called over another salesman and questioned him on the carpet we purchased, by asking him tell me about this carpet. The man than proceeded to tell us primarily the exact same things that Keith had just told us. Both my husband and I were in shock and in disbelieve at this point and angry and disapointed also. We told Keith about the carpet problems, how Mike never told us any of the things he just told us, but obviously just sold us anything. Keith said he will have to have a talk with Mike, that Mike should maybe work on talking people into a more expensive carpet. He than gave us a spray bottle of spot cleaner and said he will talk with Mike, talk with the installers, set a time up to come out to the house to access the carpet problems. Someone did come to the house and took care of the staples and pulled up the carpet at the entrances, but, the manager Keith never contacted us, nor Mike. My husband called a couple of times, spoke to Keith who promised he would c ome out and look at the carpet. After 3 weeks, and being stood up, Keith never showed up for a scheduled visit to our house, he never called, nothing. My husband calls again, he gets excuses, oh I can come out now, at first we say no, but agree to give them another chance. He came over and said the carpet is wearing the way it should wear based on the carpet we choose. There is nothing he can do. So overall,, we are very upset and were ripped off and lied to.

Regarding the complaint filed by the member concerning their installed carpet, I would like to address some of their concerns. In speaking with the salesperson they had dealt with, he was able to recall the conversations that they had at the time of selection and purchase. Our customer had requested an advertised item which they were shown. The retail price was $1.99 per square foot installed. This price is inclusive of carpet, cushion, installation, disposal of old flooring and the movement of furniture. During this sales process, the customer insisted on the lower price. The price was eventually reduced to $1.78 per square foot. As for the pricing issue, our customer received a good price for the product selected. Regarding the carpet fibers, this is what is considered a "staple yarn" and as such, by nature of construction, will shed to some degree. This is normal and is to be expected. As for the staining, this carpet is a "Stainmaster" fiber and should be resistant to staining, dependent upon the type of product that is spilled on it and how and when it is cleaned up. We would be happy to commission the skills of an independent flooring inspection service to evaluate this carpet for quality and wear. At this time, the request for a refund will not be considered. Pending the outcome of the inspection, we will reserve this decision for replacement until we have the opportunity to examine these results. Pleas let me know if the independent inspection is an agreeable start to resolving the customer's concern. Richard Smith-Director of Sales and Operations

I will go back to Bob's when I'm ready for more flooring.
Description of Work: David showed me several lines and grades of laminate flooring and discussed the advantages of each. When I selected fhe manufacture, grade and specific flooring he went to work to expedite contacting an installer and have him come directly to my home to check the room where the laminate was to be installed to access if any special preparations would be needed. No pre-preparation was required so a date was set for the flooring to be installed. The installer arrived on time and completed the installation in 2 hours. It looks great!
