Will Cut Tree Service and Landscaping

We asked that they pull the permit. Mr. Coleman agreed to do so, but asked for a $35.00 advance. Instead of writing a check, I went with him to the nearby Publix, and got $40.00 cash from the ATM. I gave him the $40.00 cash, and it was greed that the extra $5.00 would be applied to the bill for the tree removal. After not hearing from him for a week, I contacted him to get an update on the permit, and to see if I could get a timeline on when the job would start. After a couple of calls over two weeks in which he claimed to still be waiting for the permit, I called the building department and found out that he had not even applied for one. I called to ask why the Building Department had no record of a permit being pulled for the job, and he said that it had been, and that he would check on it. On May 17th, he left a message on my voicemail (Which I still have) that stated that he was sorry for the mix-up, but that the secretary had put the wrong address on the permit application. He assured me that he would insure that the proper address would be on a permit application that Monday morning. That is the last that I ever heard from Mr. Willie Coleman. My calls all went to voicemail. He never called back. The permit was never pulled. The work was never done. I guess that I ended up paying him $40.00 for the "free" estimate. Since it was cash, and I have no physical proof, the HCSO could not do anything. I would not recommend dealing with this company. If you do, give him nothing up front, and only give him a check or credit card. After dealing with this frustration for almost two months, I called Beaver's Tree Service. They did an excellent job, and I would highly recommend them.
