The Cleaning Authority

I’ve used the Cleaning Authority in the past at different locations. I have to say that the Daytona Beach/Ormond Beach location is absolutely the worst. I hired The Cleaning Authority to do a “deep clean“ as I am putting my house on the market. I requested that the inside of my refrigerator and the inside of my oven be cleaned as well. They charge me $100 per hour and it took them three hours. What I was left with was a house that was so dirty I had to go back and re-clean it before I could schedule an open house. Instead of cleaning the inside of my freezer thoroughly they wiped down a few shelves and just rearranged the food to hide the worst places on the worst shelves. Also, cleaned that myself. The oven was a joke. I had her go back and clean more of the grime out of my oven and it still looks nasty. Mind you, I self cleaned my oven days before they arrived. The floors were filthy, including the bathroom floors. I noticed several spots that were there prior to them showing up. The spots were still there when they left so I re-moped them and sent a picture of the wet pad that was just thick with brown dirt. I also needed to go back and actually dust my furniture. They used a feather duster to knock some of the dust off. To me that is not a deep CLEAN. When I went back to wipe and polish each piece, the rag was filthy. I contacted them and sent them pictures and the only response I received a WEEK later was, “Sorry, I guess they made a ‘mistake’. MISTAKE? If I wasn’t so angry and disappointed I would’ve laughed at that remark. Just try to get ahold of anybody locally to answer questions or raise concerns with. That’s nearly impossible, they don’t respond and they don’t answer the phone. If they do get back to you they have a lame excuse via text. The only mistake that was made was hiring them in the first place because it turned out to be a $300 mistake. I still can’t believe that I spent $300 for them to vacuum my floors and wipe down my counters. I do that myself each week. Moving while selling a house is stressful on its own without having to deal with dishonest vendors. NEVER AGAIN.

I hired cleaning authority a few months ago after going through several housekeepers. The price was higher than I had been paying (they charge $130 for first two "deep cleans" and $90 biweekly after). The first time they came out to deep clean my kitchen they didn't even move anything on the counter to wipe behind it. How is this a deep clean when you didn't wipe the counters? They also never wiped any of the window seals, and a few other things. I decided to keep using them anyways. The job they do is average. They send two cleaners who don't speak English. Every week it seems like a different cleaner. They have a huge list of things they don't do. They don't clean under anything, or move anything to clean. My bed is pretty high and I have a long mop they can use to get under the bed easily but they don't. I have to clean under my bed myself because it gets dusty. They are suppose to do baseboards but don't. They are here for usually about 1.5 hours or less. I stayed home once to time them and they spent 10 minutes (not exaggerating at all) to clean my entire upstairs (3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and stairs). They rush and never really pay attention to detail. I won't use them again.

They were here July of 2015. They kept breaking my stuff and not replacing anything. They stole my sons medicine twice, two weeks in a row. I think it was around $400 a month.

First off, I was told they would be here at noon. They showed up at 1.30 pm. I shrugged it off and left the house to let them clean in peace. Im not sure either one spoke English. One tried to ask me about guest bedrooms needing cleaning but it was more gesturing and I couldn't understand, how she didn't know what I had asked for and what I had not asked for. I had paid an extra $10 for my sliding glass windows to be cleaned (pesky doggie noses always get those) and when we got home, we could tell they had been wiped but they were not clean. The shower door was supposed to have "Extra attention" per the customer information package but had spots on it. Baseboards in the kitchen were supposed to have been cleaned per their detail clean, and they were still dirty. The stainless steel not cleaned right either. After poor experience in the past with Merry maids, I was hoping to find a company that would just do a good job... just make sure things are clean, but, this is not the company :-( Apparently, my house was also inspected after the clean by someone, but how she missed the windows (which again, I paid $10 extra for) is beyond me. It was the first thing I saw coming home. My coffee table is glass and still had a ring from a cup on it. Granted someone did run over it with a cloth, but I really don't care. I want it clean!!! It's not enough to just wipe it if it is not clean. Someone totally neglected to clean the floor in the shower so it was dirtier than when I left because now it had shoe prints and the inspector missed this as well.

The first two initial cleaning services a supervisor stops by to supervise the cleaning ladies' work. For subsequent visits, supervision is not provided. If you do not speak Spanish, at least one of the two cleaning ladies will know enough English to communicate with you. The final visit this is what I reported to the owner of the company: 1. Worker said she wiped down cabinets in laundry room, but did not. When I asked the English speaking cleaning lady why the Spanish speaking cleaner had lied, they looked at each other and shrugged. The laundry room sink was also not cleaned. The only thing done in the laundry room was steam vacuuming the floor (with my steamer which they misused), and dusting the shelving unit off. I had picked up all items off of floor in laundry room for them as I was told they would not do that. 2. They used tap water in my steam vac when they should have only used distilled water. My husband was home so they could have asked him where the distilled water was, but they did not take advantage of that. 3. Although the floors were steam vacuumed, they should've been wet mopped. The steam vac did not clean the floors adequately. I showed them the soiled areas on the kitchen floor, They were not eager to clean these relatively small areas up. I did it. 4. When I called the owner, she simply said, so do you want me to remove you from our list, then? So I responded that I did. I had asked the owner if one of the two cleaning ladies would have familiarity with my home, but on the 3rd unsupervised visit, neither woman had ever been in my home before.

The Cleaning Authority is the cleaning service that we like a lot. They charge $76 every two weeks. They are a green-cleaning company so they use green-cleaning products. It's good for the environment. They do an excellent job.

I would rate this company as excellent, for the following reasons:First, they actually come to my town. I had no idea when I moved to this part of Hillsborough Cty that I would have such a time finding services, but there you go! When I tried to use Angie's List to find a maid, the one's that were top rated and in my area (supposedly) didn't come down to my little corner of the county.So I relied on past experience, and called the company that used to clean my house when I lived in another Florida town (nearby).The Cleaning Authority appears to be a very good franchise. I am fortunate in that the owner of my old Cleaning Authority also bought the franchise near me. So my experience has been consistent.The clean starts off with a rep coming into your home and giving you an estimate. In spite of the fact that I was sitting in a sea of boxes (many unpacked) they offered to do a clean asap.And they did. They simply moved the boxes aside and cleaned under them, and when they left my house sparkled.I use them on a weekly basis, but I suppose I could get by bimonthly.When they leave the house is clean and shiny!

There was a different cleaning crew every time. I had them for about three months. I live with my 87 year old mother and she did not like to have someone different every week. They did an adequate job depending on who came out to clean. The company was sold. I found out about this when I called to cancel. I told them to send me my key. About 6 weeks later I got a call from the company saying they were in the house and someone was moving out and did they still want them to clean. I called the company and they left the key in the house and left. There is nothing I would recommend about this company unless you would like an adventure.

Their cleaning is fine and their punctuality is good. What I didn't like is that I asked them to send someone who spoke good English because we do not speak Spanish. We had a problem with them sending us someone that we could communicate well with. The cleaning was fine, I just had a problem with the communication. I would use them again in the future if needed.

I've had the service for nearly a year, and for the most part had the same team. I've been really happy until recently. It seems there's been a change in management. Where I would highly recommend before I am now looking for a replacement. Since the new crews have arrived (it's been different each week) they've broken a ceramic figurine, left the floors sticky, and mopped the floors with what seemed dirty/sticky water because we had to redo. Maybe things will turn around in time, but for now I'd stay away. I'm moving to another.

Very efficient and very thorough. Have contracted them to come in and clean every 2 weeks until further notice.

Very spotty quality from the cleaning service. There was a revolving door of cleaners---I almost never had the same cleaning staff 2 weeks in a row. I terminated the service after about 4 months.
