They showed up on time twice, once to diagnose the problem and again with the repair part. The diagnosis was correct. The new part solved the problem. I hesitated to use Hi Def Doctor because of their bad reviews on Angie's List. One of Angie's List's high rated repair shops told me over the phone that it was 95% certain that my set was beyond repair. The set cost $2600, is less than 3 years old and is out of warranty. I called Samsung to complain about the situation and was surprised to learn that if the set could not be repaired, they would give me another of equal value despite the expired warranty. They set me up with their nearest authorized repair service, Hi Def Doctor. It worked out well.

Terrible experience. I will never try them again.
Description of Work: This company was recommended by Samsung Corporation. From the very beginning, I had difficulty actually speaking to someone, as they never answer their phone and rarely return calls from messages I left. Once they finally sent a repairman out, all he did was look the set over and tell me to pay him $89 for the service call. I asked what was wrong with the set, and he replied that he didn't know, and that I would have to contact the office at a later date. I tried and tried to call them. One time they called me back, and it was in the middle of the day on a workday. They said that he could be there in about 30 minutes, but I had told them that I work and wouldn't be home until after 5pm. They insisted that 5pm was too late and that Saturdays they are closed. After that conversation, I tried many times to contact them again, but never would they answer or call me back. I finally resorted to calling Samsung Corp. back and filing a grievance with them, since they had recommended this company for the service. I ended up paying Samsung to exchange my bad set for a new, last year's model. I would never, EVER recommend Hi Def Dr. to anyone.

Avoid at all cost. I had scheduled these guys twice. I should have leaned after the first time. They did not show up either time. No phone call, just didn't show up (twice). I tried to call dozens of times. They never once answered their phones, nor did they return a single call. I can't see them being in business much longer (if they are even still in business).

Obviously it didn't go well. Hidef Doctor is still missing in action and won't respond to my calls and apparently aren't even responding to Samsung's calls. Sounds like they are having some troubles so I would move on if I were you to another TV repair company. If they can't get work done for a major company like Samsung what do you think the chances are that you'll get work done much less get it done correctly.
Description of Work: I bought a new Samsung 51" Plasma TV that had problems. Samsung informed me that their factory service center for the Tampa Bay area was Hidef Doctor and they would handle the resolution. I spoke with them on the phone and they diagnosed the problem over the phone and ordered the appropriate part to repair the television. Samsung confirmed the part order and informed me the part had arrived at Hidef doctor on Monday, August 8th and I should expect a service call to finish the job within the next 2 days. When Hidef Doctor didn't call I gave them a call. I got an answering machine and left a message. No call back. A couple of days later I left another message on their machine (during regular business hours)....no call back. After that I began to call everyday. Nothing. I don't know if they went out of business or just don't want to repair the TV or kept the part (a new screen!!) or what. I called Samsung to report the situation on August 20th and still no word from Hidef Doctor. Samsung immediately had a new television shipped to me to take care of the situation and I suspect Hidef Doctor won't be the Samsung service center much longer as my case was elevated to Samsung's executive personal service. Just a shame when you have bad business people like this. You've been warned. These people are completely unreliable. Don't trust them.

Eric was the technician that they sent and he was excellent. A part had to be ordered and a subsequent service call was scheduled. I specifically asked that Eric return for the installation of the part. He was on time for each appointment. He was knowledgeable, polite, and professional. The HDTV looks as good as new. Based on our experience, we would definitely recommend THE HIDEF DOCTOR for TV repairs.
