Description of Work: they had a service contract for the appliances in the home. after three visits and over 100 documented phone calls, we are at the point where the company is "sending someone over to look at the problem'

Description of Work: Tried to repair stove. My only complaint is that I was told the "boss" would come out to fix it and he never did and never called to say he wasn't coming. When I called to see where he was, I was told they were not going to come, gave me back to American Home Shield, my warranty company . Technician who did come was excellent and professional.

My home insurance co. uses this horrible repair facility. I've been stuck with them for 2 separate repairs now. They are curt, unprofessional, inept at diagnosing and a complete waste of time and money. Avoid them at all costs. 1st repair was for my 2nd garage fridge, they had to come out 4 times and ended up having Sears come to repair. 2nd time it was my main fridge which was only 2 years old. They took a whopping 60 seconds to diagnosis (ice maker and fridge cooling didn't work, freezer did). After 1 1/2 weeks finally got the part... and it was wrong. Instead of getting the right part they jerry-rigged the wrong one, and it still doesn't work! Going on 3Rd week without a fridge. Thanks for nothing!

I have never heard back
Description of Work: They called once after 48 hours. I missed the call in a meeting but called back 15min. later. I have been calling three times a day for a week and haven't heard back. American Home Shield sent me to them. Both are terrible companies.

This company is the biggest waste of time ever. I think they are being paid off by AHS warranty to lie about what is wrong with your item, so that it can be denied. They came to my house to fix a dryer. Steve looked at it, and said the dials were broken inside, so they weren't turning the dials. The start switch was also broken. I recently purchased this house (2 weeks ago), and my coverage started on day 1 of ownership. Steve told AHS that this was a pre-existing condition, and that you could tell visually that it was broken before coverage started. The dryer worked fine at inspection, and also worked for 4 days after I moved in. Visually, the knobs were fine. You had to take them OFF the machine to see that inside they were cracked. Evidently, he reported that visually it was broken - unless you have x-ray vision, you would not know that. I placed many calls to Bay to Bay - you can never get anyone on the phone, and they do NOT return messages. EVER. I blame him for lying to AHS about the condition of the dryer - and for their total lack of customer service. I believe that if they didn't have the AHS contract, they'd be out of business. The office gal lied to me on Friday and said the parts were ordered. It was only today - one WEEK after Steve came to my house, that this whole denial thing came up. No one will take responsibility for either company - AHS blames it on the technician's report, and Bay to Bay is just unreachable. I've been a customer of AHS for years, but today is the end of it. And I would NEVER call Bay to Bay to do any work in my house - I do not trust them at all - they are liars and totally uncaring. What company gets calls from customers and simply ignores them time after time, day after day. They are horrible.

Took almost a week both times to get out to even look at them and then a week to get back with parts. The repair tech was great, but the delays, not returning calls to setup service, the delays in getting parts were unacceptable.

I read the other reviews on here and am sorry those people had a bad experience. I had no problems with Bay to Bay. Like one other reviewer, they are the provider used by my homeowners insurance company to repair certain appliances. I made the claim with my insurance company and within an hour got a call from Bay to Bay to schedule an appointment. The technician arrived on time. And best of all, he had the part necessary to fix the problem on his truck. It has now been 6 months and my microwave is still operating fine.
Description of Work: They repaired my microwave oven, which had ceased to turn on.

This is my second encounter with Bay to Bay as it is the go-to place for American Home Shield. After submitting my service request with AHS, Bay to Bay is supposed to contact me to set up the service call. In both situations I have had to call Bay to Bay to set up the service appointment as it seems low on their priority list. They arrive as agreed, assess what is required, and state they will return with the new part. My invoice stated a 5 to 7 day promise time, however in my most recent service my microwave was not repaired until over 14 days from initial call. I called AHS immediately after Bay to Bay left to advise them to expedite the part order once submitted. That never happened as I had to hound Bay to Bay for the next week attempting to track the order and establish the repair date. Bay to Bay has a voicemail however it seems that they never check it or do not bother returning calls. Very frustrating to deal with this company. Additionally AHS could not reach them when I called to complain about the service status. There is physical address to find this business either which raises a red flag in my opinion. I entered an N/A for price as my home warranty paid for the bulk of the repair - I only paid a $75 service call deductible. I do not recommend using this business.
Description of Work: This provider was used as the local contractor for my home warranty (American Home Shield). The magnetron unit on my built in microwave/oven unit failed and no longer heated food and caused a burning insulation smell. Replacement part ordered and eventually swapped out fixing the issue.

This place is terrible. They removed the old dishwasher and installed a new one (08/12/2013). Within a week the 2 small screws used to secure the entire dishwasher were loose and the unit would move every time it was opened. Why such small screws would be used is beyond me. Now i have a nice chunk of wood missing where one screw came lose and tore the wood out. They came back out on 09/30/2013 and used the same screws in the same spot and sure enough it comes loose again. I call back, but because i am no longer with American Home Shield they will not come back to fix the installation. I have called numerous times and Stephen the owner will not return my calls. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.

They just really weren't the quality that I had used before. I won't use them anymore. The quality of the service was probably okay. The young man came out and did his little diagnostics and said he would order the part. It was a Friday and still hadn't ordered it which was to me amazing. I called a couple of days later and they said the part wasn't in yet. Eventually the part came in but prior to that the girl had called me and said he would come home between nine and four on such date. So I changed my schedule which was not a problem but he didn't show up all day. I called her back and told her I want the first appointment for tomorrow. They showed up 12:30 the next day. To top the cake off I had ordered a new water filter. He installed the water filter and didn't see that the water line had been broken and that's what made me mad. The water lines still doesn't work. I will never call them back. It's my problem that I'm not asserting that I should be at times. I can't imagine a repair man leaving a house just installing the water filter and not checking if the water comes through. He told my husband it's just some air in the line. The first two times I used them, they did wonders but the last time was a disaster. The person who came to install the new part said that he had the part in his truck and that he could have fixed it the same day. It wasn't a perfect visit. They charge you $35 for service call and when they come back they deduct that when they fix it.

The technician turned on the washing machine and said it needed a clutch. The machine has no clutch. I do not know if Bay to bay surrendered the contract or if AHS pulled it. I am of the opinion that the technician should have at least looked at the owners manual and parts guide to see if the machine even had a clutch. It was a circuit board that was blown.
Description of Work: My home warranty assigned the repair to this company.(the above date may be off a day or two) The technician was on time walked in and turned on the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and said it needed a clutch, it had to be ordered and he needed $55. The whole process took a minute.

Called for an estimate. Repair man arrived in alloted time slot. Told me the price of new ice maker and that the $35.00 service call would be deducted from the price of the installation and ice maker. They did that. We asked for a new water filter which they provided. They also gave us the number and website to order the water filters as they are expensive and we can install them ourselves. We are about to contact them for repair of our microwave.
Description of Work: Install a new ice maker. Took about 15 minutes to install and put in a new water filter.

This call was through our Home Warranty, so the cost above ($55) only reflects our deductible. We spoke with Beth in order to set up a date and time for the technician to come. She was very friendly. The technician arrived on time and was professional and courteous. We inquired about replacing the grill accessory with 2 additional burners, and Steve gave us helpful information. He did a thorough and clean job. After the job, we called Beth to ask for more information regarding the additional double burner accessory for our range (to replace the grill accessory on one side). She was not only courteous, but did the research for us, and even suggested where to purchase it (they do not carry it). Beth went above and beyond the call of duty!
Description of Work: This work was done on Feb. 2, 2007 (although the report date will show today's date - March 25). The technician (Steve) replaced the electrical wiring in our cook top range, and showed us how to plug in the grill accessory.
