THIS WAS A FINE WORKING SYSTEM AT 1ST DID WORK ON IT FOR HOURS BUT LEFT WITH OUT CHECKING OUT I WAS TOLD HE FORGOT TO TURN ON THE BREAKERS SO I DID RAN FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND QUIT HE RETURNED ABOUT 5 HOURS LATER AND FIGURED OUT HE BURNED OUT THE TRANSFORMER AND SAID I CAN BUY ONE AND HE WONT CHARGE ME A SERVICE CHARGE/? I SAID IT WORKED FINE BEFORE YOU CAME YOU RUINED IT FINAL VERDICT WAS THEY WON'T REPAIR MY SYSTEM TO CALL ANOTHER COMPANY TO FIX WHAT THEY BROKE??? I DID GET ANOTHER COMPANY TO TY TO FIX THE DAMAGE ONE HOUR DID YES TRANSFORMER WAS BURNED OUT AND HE DAMAGED THE THERMOSTAT TOO BUT MUCH MORE WAS RUINED SO MANY THINGS I WAS TOLD THE REPAIRS WOULD BE TO HIGH AND REPLACING THE WHOLE HOUSE AC WOULD BE MORE SENSIBLE OF AN INVESTMENT I HAD A WORKING SYSTEM WHEN THEY CAME NOW IT TOOK 4 DAYS WITHOUT AC TO SCHEDULE A REPLACEMENT HAVE COPD AND IT WAS GETTING OVER 90 EVERYDAY WITH NO AC I WOULD SAY NEVER EVER LET THIS COMPANY IN YOUR HOME

I received a call from the office telling me that my technician would be here soon, which I definitely appreciated. That gave me time to put my dog away, so he would not get in the way. A short time later Charles G. (Chaz) arrived, and greeted me with a smile. He was professionally dressed, and parked on the street, so he would not block my driveway, which was also well appreciated. He explained the flat rate pricing, and told me for the $79 service call he would look into the problem, and come up with a solution that I could afford. A while later, he came back to tell me what was causing the issue, and said the good thing was that it could be repaired. He actually showed me photographs of what the problem was, which I thought was a great touch. Seeing the actual issues, and how he could fix them, made it easier for me to make a decision. Not only was he able to give me 1 option, but rather 3 options on how we could fix the problem. Each one cost a little more, but I appreciated having options, and being told the benefits to each additional solution, and why it cost more money, and how that extra money would benefit me, as a homeowner. That put my mind at ease. Since my unit is relatively new, and still under warranty (NOT the repairs he needed to make, as it was an installation issue, NOT a manufacturing issue), I decided to go with the top of the line repair. Yes, it was more expensive, but in the long run it would save me money. I gave him the OK, and he immediately went to work. He was honest when he told me it would take a few hours, and at that during the repair, he would need to turn off my AC so it would be getting warm in the house. Chas took NO breaks in that hot attic, and he kept me up to date on how the repairs were going. His final update he told me that I would have cool air in about 15 minutes and he was right on the money. After the repairs were complete he came in and explained each line of the bill (he had already done this during the estimate phase) so that I knew exactly what I was paying for. He then took my payment, and I had an immediate receipt come to my email address which was great. To ensure he looked clean and professional for his next client, he asked permission to use my guest bathroom to change into a clean, fresh uniform. I was impressed. Appearances are very important in any line of work. After working for 4 hours in my hot attic, needless to say his uniform was very wet and dirty. When he arrives at his next clients home, he will look just as clean and professional as he did when he arrived at my home.

Excellent, Install was on time and took less time than estimated. So far the unit is doing great and the temperature is comfortable and energy bills are down. Overall, went exceptionally well and seems to be a great buy. Southern Comfort did a great job and after installation I have continued to look around for the **** of it, and it seems I got a great deal. Also, got a free year of premium membership for both my AC units and now after that year was up, I have a discount to the premier AC unit service and also I believe we got a home warranty with it at a discount. So, in conclusion for the price we got: great work, in excellent time, professional technicians, rebates for Energy credits and a tax deduction, Service on the units and a home warranty and all of it at a great price. Not that I am happy my unit broke, but the old piece of crap unit that was builder's grade, outlived it's lifespan and was an eyesore and very inefficient, with high power bills. This turned out to be a great decision and I have used them for other things including service and the first main floor 5 ton Unit, that has been great since 2010 and we use them for service and our every six month check ups on the AC units. I wholly recommend Souther comfort one hour air and am very pleased overall with their service. One tip always negotiate the price, never take the first number thrown out, they like to haggle, for all you Monty Python Fans, LOL. They always leave room to negotiate the price but by no means are a rip off.

Southern Comfort installed my new HVAC system in 2012. This year, the blower motor went out and needed to be replaced. A different company came out and was informed by Rheem that the unit was not registered and therefore was no longer under warranty. When I contacted SC, I was told multiple times that the unit was under a 10 year warranty and that they could go out and do the work. When they arrived the following day, I was informed that the reason why the initial company could not locate the warranty was because of a mistype when it was registered by SC. They corrected the issue, but I was left with a replacement bill over $160 more than the first (also reputable) company quoted. Their maintenance fees are almost twice what I've paid the other company as well. I was told by their staff "you get what you pay for," but I'm not convinced. I ended up paying more because of their mistake in registering my unit. Not to mention every single person I spoke to attempted to sell their maintenance package. The new part is under a labor warranty so no other company can touch it, so unfortunately I may be stuck with them for the next two years.

Smooth as i was notified the day before and the morning of.

The technician found that a snake had gotten into the condenser unit (left shed skin behind). There was also some mold and other debris. He showed me where it was before he cleaned up the mess. I also had him install a UV light to help clean the air flowing into the house.

Technician was polite, punctual, courteous. He got right to work, and explained things as he went along. He recommended three things that needed to be done in order for my unit to run efficiently. I elected to have two done as the third had already been installed. He said that the service would take about 90 minutes, and he was on his way to his truck in exactly 90 minutes.

They did fine on the work. It's the warrenty and policies. I paid for a 10 year parts and labor warranty. Wich required once a year maintenance. After 5 years they changed to need a 200.00 a year service contract or pay a 200.00 fee if it needed anything. In theory this was not for parts or labor but a train admin fee. So been paying the 200.00 a year for 2 sevices. Today they call and tell me service 60.00, but if I want the contract it's 200.00. I got pretty mad and felt they rip off regular customers. I will use a different vendor for service or replacement.

It was fine. They did a good job and they did it quickly and efficiently.

I have had a service contract with this company for almost ten years, but recently they seem to be more interested in trying to sell me a new unit than maintaining my old one. I have a 10 year warranty and during the last service call the technician claimed it was leaking Freon, but couldn't find the source of the leak. He also told me that even if he could find it, it was going to be in a part not covered under my warranty. After two hours he said there was nothing he could do and when I requested another technician he said someone would get back to me. They never called, so I called another company. That tech agreed there was a leak was able to troubleshoot it. He also said the previous tech left a door open that could cause further damage to my unit and he loosened some wires that could have sparked a fire. Needless to say I will never use this company again.

Made appointment in April for our yearly maintenance that we purchased with our new A/C two years earlier. Tech serviced the system and THEN told use our contract had expired, and so we had to purchase a new one. What else could we do? As he was leaving I reminded him that he had not yet replaced the filters. He stated he would be back later that week to replace them. I had to call 7 times, yes that was SEVEN times, to finally get filters....2 visits (he had forgotten measurements) & FOUR months later! Then today, I called for service to a wall unit that stopped cooling. They dont DO wall units. Well, 3 of our 4 A/C units ARE wall units....funny how they failed to mention this when we renewed our contract. Even if that unit (the oldest of the 4) was not covered by our contract, i would have paid for the repair. Nope, the techs just do not do them. The phone representatives were always kind & somewhat apologetic, but that does not make this whole experience any better.

They are very prompt, courteous, and they are very knowledgeable. It is hard to divorce them from the entire experience because the actual brand of air conditioner we are using is below par. They are good and I would absolutely recommend them; there is no question. The quality of their service is pretty good. I would not use them only because of the brands of air conditioners that they are associated with.

Provider was unaware of the $29.00 service deal that I purchased through Angie's List. I sent Angie's List an email about it and asked for my money back. I got no response from Angie's List to this email.

The technician arrived 15 minutes late due to not believing me when I told him that the GPS he was using would not find the house and he got lost in the subdivision. He refused to honor their one-hour guarantee. He went to work on the package unit/compressor and pumped 7 pounds of freon (the compressor only held 4 lbs) into the system before determining that the compressor had a large leak and all of the freon leaked out. He also managed to break the fan in the compressor, meaning that there was no air coming out of it. He would not leave without collecting $405 for the 7 lbs of freon that was wasted. Since it was July in Florida and I was 5 months pregnant, this was a very bad time not to have a/c. He stated that the compressor would need to be replaced and a sales agent would be there the next day. The technician then proceeded to spend the next 2 hours sitting in the work truck in front of my home eating lunch, smoking cigarettes and texting. I eventually had to ask him to leave so that I could leave because he was blocking the driveway. The sales agent arrived the next day. He stated that I would need to replace the thermostat and all of the duct work as well since it was old and there was no way that it would be compatible with the new system. The thermostat and duct work were less than 2 years old at the time. He stated that a new system would be in excess of $4,000. I politely asked him to leave and another provider was out the next day to install a new system for $2,350 with no mention of changing the duct or thermostat. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy.

We have used them for a long time (10 years or so) & they are amazing. Their prices are competitive but the customer service is what makes them stand out above the rest! We bought new system from them about 7 years ago. The extended warranty has come in handy for a few problems so I would recommend getting that. I recommend them often to friends!

The new unit required a larger concrete pad than the previous unit. They set the new pad on top of the old pad and put a couple wooden supports on the front corners. The county inspector said it wasn't adequate support and wrote it up. One Hour called me back after they got the inspector's report to set up a time to fix the violation. They arrived on schedule and did a fine job of adding additional support. I'm still waiting for the reinspection but I'm happy with One Hour's response to this incident.
