+ -1 moreTim replaced every plumbing connection in our home, especially those that were plastic! He replaced the water supply lines, to toilets, etc. with stronger, better equipment. He heard me and quot;whineand quot; about one of the stoppers in one bathroom that I couldn't operate and he kindly replaced it and now it works like a charm!
Description of Work: Tim Smith (Smith Mechanical, Inc.) talked with us about what we should do regarding our home having just had two leaks in one of our bathroom's shower which in turn caused a bad black mold problem, i.e., whether to replace all of the plumbing/pipe or what he advised was to replace every plumbing connection in our home. So, we trust him and took his advice and he came on July 9, 2013 and 6.5 hours later -- all the connections, as well as he corrected numerous other examples of shoddy workmanship he found when closely examining our plumbing. (Note: we have a 3 bathrooms, and 7 sinks in our home so it was a pretty big job so he did bring a helper with him.) Tim did an outstanding job and left our home very clean and everything possible put back close to how he found it -- even though he had to create four access doors to get to various pipes (as the builder installed NONE) but there was simply no mess to be seen when they left for the day. Tim also left all of the pipe/connections he replaced with us -- as we want to have proof of the very shoddy work done when our home was built and explained what was wrong, etc. We would highly recommend Tim. He's a one-man operation so he's quite busy but worth the wait!

+ -1 moreWell, we were quite satisfied with Tim Smith's (Smith Mechanical) work, naturally we were not happy to learn that we have a serious mold problem. One thing we have learned since Tim was here, is that we have grey plastic polybutylene pipe throughout our home (home built in 1997 and this pipe was and quot;bannedand quot; in 1995!) but Tim never mentioned it. However, we do trust him and are going to telephone him and ask him to give us an estimate for replacing all of that polybutylene pipe in our home. We felt that Tim was very much on and quot;our sideand quot; and he professionally stood up to the insurance adjuster on our behalf and we certainly appreciated that very much.
Description of Work: located leak in a bathroom, capped the water lines to the shower; informed us that we have MOLD and suggested we contact our insurance company. He then dealt with the insurance adjuster once the insurance company entered the picture.
