As a previous reviewer mentioned, service stops at the register. Spent $30,000 on appliances with installation. During install called store during day 9 times. No answer, vmail , no call back. Really? $30k dollars! 80% of the time no one answered..asking for "manager" or owner is useless too. They have "better things to do"... Amazing .. What a missed business opportunity

Last month I purchased replacements for my large kitchen appliances. After going to Lowes, Home Depot, and Best Buy and not being impressed with the salespeople or the service warranty or department, I looked online to find other appliance dealers and found Rice's Appliances about 20 minutes away. We ended up spending about 3 hours in there with Brandy Williams, who patiently answered all our questions and was very well informed about the specifics of every model she showed us. She never pressured us at all. We walked out with information on the models we were interested in that she printed off for us. I ended up opting for a microwave/convection oven combo, which was more expensive than what she had shown me. We are extremely pleased with the GE Profile set we purchased. The dishwasher is so quiet we don't even hear it, which was very important to us since the last one was so loud we had to wash dishes after we went to bed. The delivery service used by Rice's was superb - the most meticulous, professional guys ever. We even asked to speak to their boss. And another plus - if you get an extended service warranty from Rice's and never use it, you get your money back. It's nice to support a local small business and they certainly deserve a visit when you are looking for new appliances.

The mower was returned with the mowing deck adjusted wrong. The pitch of the deck was altered so much that the deck support wheels were riding inches too high. Thus, the blades were too high and not level. I could not mow. They promised to return to fix this, but never did..even after several assurances from different staff. A letter I wrote to the owner asking how this was acceptable customer support received no response.
Description of Work: Rice's Outdoor Power serviced my riding mower in August.

We originally called 5/2015 because of an issue we were having with our ice maker. The appointment was set up for a few days later with a 3 hour window. We were told the service tech would call us when he was leaving his previous appointment to give us a little time which we needed as we were in a meeting down the street and my wife was prepared to leave when necessary. The tech did not call us prior but called to tell us he was there and we were not so he was leaving. We had to call and reschedule for a few days later. The tech then came out and the ice maker decided to work for him as he tried it once and said it was fine. The next day it stopped dispensing ice out of the door again. He came back a few days later to find that it wasn't working then he literally opened the freezer door and said ok we will order a whole new door. It seemed very odd to me that you would come to that conclusion literally by opening a door and not even looking at the ice maker. He told us they would call when it arrived. 4 weeks past without hearing anything so we decided to call to check the status when they told us it can take up to 18 weeks to arrive! I spoke to Rice's directly and they said they would try to speed up the process and let me know when we can expect it, but they never called me back. It has been 18 weeks and the repair company has been extremely rude and now will not return our calls. So I may be forced to take legal action to have my fridge fixed. It's not just about your prices, but your staff and the subs you choose can make or break your business.
Description of Work: We purchased these appliances new back in June of 2012. I originally went to them because I am a local small business owner myself therefore I tend to lean towards other small businesses when possible. Their pricing is good, but when it comes to appliances everyone will match everyone. It's kind of like buying a car , you may save $100 or so but there is a reason for that. Their 5 year extended warranty price is second to none, but the service and execution of that warranty is absolutely the worst in the industry.

Delivery was fine. We purchased a french door refrigerator. The clip that holds the door in place so it pulls out straight is missing. The installer called and they're replacing it. We're fine with that. However, after installing the dishwasher and disposal I now have a leak in a valve under my sink. The installers were called and returned and we were by the installer that " the valve moved as I pulled out the old disposal and installed the dishwasher". Mind you the old hoses are still in use- he didn't even connect the new dishwasher hose. This morning my husband spoke to Zach Miller, the "Service Manager" at the store. His response was that our only option was NOT to have the dishwasher installed. Really? We were NEVER told that this could occur from either the store or the installer. Now we have to incur further expenses to call a plumber to replace the valve they damaged. I will NEVER recommend Rice Appliances. If you go to Ferguson in Sarasota or any other appliance store they will meet their competitor's price. We paid an installation fee for each of these- so the service wasn't free. If you decide to purchase your dishwasher from Rice don't have them install it. Consumers- BEWARE.

In-store experience was top notch. Was assisted in looking at all appliance brands and levels of quality/features. Staff was helpful in preparing paperwork, scheduling delivery and assisting to make certain we satisfied all qualifications for maximum discounts (i.e., factory and matching store discount). Result was a price $500 lower than any other competing store. Delivery crew was excellent: quick, efficient, careful and spent necessary time to walk us through all operational instructions. Installer was less than perfect. Left stove and refrigerator at an angle, un-level. We removed both appliances, adjusted leveling legs and reinstalled ourselves. Appliances have worked flawlessly. Only complaint was a rubber gasket separating the burner control panel from the stove top was creeping upward. Called dealer and factory service team came to inspect stove, then ordered new parts and returned to install at no charge. Very satisfied.
Description of Work: Sold four-piece kitchen appliance set (GE Cafe refer, stove, d/w, microwave), installed, removed old appliances.

Installations were smooth, all systems work, and personal instruction was clear regarding these new fangled devices. Service calls to address 2 issues that appeared due to manufacturer upgrades, were provided for free. Patient and thorough. Long time family company in the area. They will be here for service in the future.
Description of Work: Hung flat screen TVs, installed internet whole house control features, ceiling speakers, and LCD screen universal remote.

Description of Work: We checked out several Jennair convection ovens on the display floor. This was the only store which had them hooked up so you could actually hear the convection fan running. It was extremely quiet which was what we were looking for. The display models had two levels of sophisticated visual controls which were more than we wanted. The salesman suggested a lowercost model which had more basic controls. They did not have one in stock so we had one ordered and delivered. After it was installed by very experienced and polite installers, we discovered that this was not a convection oven as both we and the salesman thought. I called him and explained and he agreed completely and said he would have to confer with the owner, Mr. Rice. He calld back in about 15 minutes and proposed that they would exchange our oven for the display convection oven, which had only been there for 3 or 4 weeks, and would then use our basic oven for their display. The difference in price was $300, which they would cover because of our inconvenience. We took the offer and the next day the swap was made. The store had not had the Jennair line before and the sales man was not completely familar with the model originally sold to us. He called after the new convection oven was installed to make sure we were happy. We are extremely pleased with their response to the problem and with the new oven. This is a great store with a good line of appliances and TV's.
