The plumber: 1) did not replace the waterline and instead just connected the brand new dishwasher to the old waterline, 2) used the old washer’s power cord (instead of using the brand new power cord I provided), and when the dishwasher wasn’t working correctly giving us an error code pointing to installation error he insisted he had installed it correctly, spent a ton of time on the phone with the manufacturer trying to trouble shoot the issue and concluded that the dishwasher must be defective. My heart sank when he handed me a bill for almost $400 for installing a dishwasher that wasn’t even working. After he left, I noticed the dishwasher door was severely hitting only one side of the dishwasher, revealing that the dishwasher was definitely not level – another trigger for the installation error code we kept getting. After getting the dishwasher installed properly by a different vendor (me literally double paying for installation), I contacted Peninsular with significant evidence (pictures and a written affidavit from the installer who installed it correctly) demonstrating Peninsular Plumber’s improper and incomplete installation to kindly request a refund for their improper installation. Unfortunately, Peninsular did not respond positively in an effort to make it good to me, instead, they were more interested in protecting their interests, literally stating: “By law we have to have the opportunity to make the work right when something is done improperly or not to your liking. It’s called the “Right to Repair Act”. Once you file a complaint with the contractor (Peninsular Plumbing) we have 45 days to respond by offer to remedy, compromise or settle, and/ or dispute the claim. When your mom called on 5/20/17 you already had a new installer there who told you that we did that work improperly and was proceeding to correct it. At the point of call we have the opportunity to remedy the situation. Now that you had the work done already by someone else we are not able to remedy our work.” This is ridiculous. Peninsular is now requesting that I take EVEN MORE time off of work, on top of all the time and money I’ve already spent thanks to their improper installation, to entertain them coming to visit me at my home to look at the properly installed dishwasher before they can even entertain refunding me for their improper installation (despite all the pictures and written affidavit evidence that I’ve shown them – with the biggest piece of evidence being that the dishwasher started working once it was installed correctly by a different vendor). If you are considering hiring Peninsular Plumbing, I urge you to please reconsider. If one of their plumbers performs work that literally does not work, you cannot (against your better judgement) try to fix the problem immediately by someone else, otherwise, they are “not able to remedy” their work and will make you jump through hoops and take even more time off of work to entertain them looking at the final working product someone else did correctly the first time, so they can maybe, just maybe, have a conversation with you about making it good to you. I wish Peninsular would take greater care in recruiting qualified plumbers and at least have a good training program in place so the plumbers can do the work correctly the first time. Based on my 2 completely separate bad experiences, Peninsular does not take great care in the quality and experience of the plumbers they bring on staff and ultimately send to your home. Unfortunately, both the plumbers that Peninsular sent to my home were very money driven (both totally overcharged me for incomplete and improper work). What’s even sadder than poor recruitment practices is that Peninsular as a company, won’t stand behind their work and make it good to you, the consumer, even if we, the consumers, present them with overwhelming evidence that work was done improperly. It is never my intention to hurt a business by writing a negative review, but I need to advise the general public against hiring Peninsular based on my two separate experiences with them. I hope this feedback helps them improve the way they are doing business and helps them realize how what they do and how they handle things impacts others negatively. I wish them well and I hope they can become a better company in the future.
Description of Work: I have had 2 completely separate negative experiences hiring Peninsular Plumbing and would like to share my experiences with you to help you understand why I do not recommend hiring Peninsular Plumbing. My observation is that they have very low standards for the plumbers they on board and send to your home. Peninsular Plumbers: broke my bathroom tile and roughly patched it up, installed a brand new utility sink that was leaking water immediately after they left (plumber promised to return and fix it but instead went AWOL), and they sold me a $600 faucet that retails online at Wayfair for $200 (looked it up by model number for an exact match). Most recently, due to the insistence of my mother and against my better judgement, I hired Peninsular to install my brand new dishwasher because I needed a plumber to replace the waterline because of the way my kitchen is set up.

Peninsular Plumbing did not want fix their MISTAKE...poor customer service.
Description of Work: You wrote: Called Peninsular Plumbing to correct a faulty bathroom faucet installation by another party. The problem had to be fixed by going in through the drywall in the bedroom. The Peninsular plumber misjudged where the opening in the wall should be and cut a large square in the drywall. Then he cut another square in the drywall to actually reach the plumbing to fix the problem, but I now have two holes in my wall...one that was necessary and another that was a mistake. Upon my request, Peninsular Plumbing said they would send someone to repair the hole which was their plumber's mistake and I had already called someone to repair the other hole which was necessary to repair the plumbing. On the day the person sent from Peninsular Plumbing was to come to my house he called to confirm that he was to repair two holes. I told him only one was the responsibility of Peninsular Plumbing and that I already made arrangements to have the other one fixed. That day Jessica from Peninsular Plumbing called me and said that because their repair guy was coming out to repair only ONE hole instead of two that he was going to charge more and therefore PP wasn't going to pay for it. Jessica said the best they could do is send me the difference in price which was $20.00 (insulting). I doubt anyone would come out and repair the hole and texturize the wall for $20.00! It's a poor excuse for trying to get out of their responsibility of fixing THEIR mistake! I would never do business with them again and beware of the plumbers they employ. PP had to send out a second plumber a couple of days later to fix the botched (faucet) job the first one did.

He brought in 2 faucets for me to look at and I was told that the faucets that he had were not available at a hardware store. He also only specified a price of the installation along with the faucet, not the two prices separate. Come to find out, I could buy them from a hardware store and they were actually more than half the price he was trying to charge me. I trusted his judgement and price because I believed he was telling me the truth about not being able to buy this on my own. He did the same thing on my bathroom faucets as well for my china sinks. I called the owner about this issue and he said he would have to talk to his brother about this because my main issue was the price but I never heard back from them. He said even though I signed the 100% money back guarantee, which cost me $100, but since my issue was with the price, he would have to talk to his brother before I would get any money back. I called other plumbers to see how much all of this work would have cost if they did the work and figured out I was overcharged by $1000.00 for the entire project.
Description of Work: They installed a kitchen faucet, 2 lavatory faucets, 2 round china sinks, snaked the lavatory line in the master bathroom, installed the water line for my ice maker, sold me 3 bottles of drain cleaner, installed a garbage disposal and sold me a PPC membership club which is supposed to provide a money back guarantee as well as a 15% discount.

He did not charge us for his time, and recommended another service provider. He insisted that he not be paid for his initial visit and asked for nothing. Very friendly, very professional and we will absolutely recommend them to anyone and if we do need them in the future, will utilize their services without hesitation.
Description of Work: We had a mysterious puddle of water form in our master bedroom. I had to rip out the carpet, and baseboards, and discovered saturated walls as well. Peninsular Plumbing was very friendly and professional, and a technician was at my home within half an hour of calling. Russell spent about an hour at my home trying to identify the source of the problem. He soaked the outer window, inspected the meter, throughly looked for any plumbing issues, leaks, the AC and soil. He did everything he could do to find the source of the problem. He recommended a specialist to further help find the source of our mysterious puddle of water, and was very adamant about not ripping anyone off.

Their website pitches a $39 diagnostic fee. I called yesterday, left message. No call back. Called this morning with water softener problem. I got the impression they 'sort of' fixed softeners. Said could send someone out for $49. I mentioned website price and the answer was "We need to change that, where do you live?" I said Clearwater, he said 'that's a longer way to send out someone so can't do it". Maybe they are good at what they do but the website is misleading, company didn't seem to care as this likely a minor repair. Would not recommend. I am upgrading this company somewhat because somebody there apparently saw my Angie's list grade and asked me to upgrade, apologized and offered me a free inspection. I'd already had the work done (bought a new water softener from another firm) but the fact that the lady called and tried to make it all right was a good sign.

Another plumbing company (not a Craigslist provider) made a mess of what was just a leaking tub faucet. The "other" company installed new handles (was not necessary) and changed some of the plumbing in the wall. They left it with the cold water handle spinning 360 degrees, and very difficult to turn the water off completely. Peninsular came when they said, almost to the minute, they fixed the problme, and the cost was substainitally lower than the first company. We have rental properties, and will definitly be taking advantage of our Criagslist membership from now on!
Description of Work: Cold water handle in tub was spinning around and around and it was hard to turn water off completely. They made it not spin anymore and it is very easy to turn the water off completely now.

I called Peninsular after receiving an extraordinarily high water bill. They came out and quickly determined that there were no leaks in the house. That unfortunately left the main as the culprit. The plumber left saying that the owner would get back to me with a quote. He did not however, I had to call them. It turns out they had a miscommunication, but within a half hour of my call to check on my quote, they had one for me and my work scheduled for the next day. The plumbers were very prompt, courteous and completed their work in about 3 or so hours.

Brian was prompt, polite, and did a quick and complete job. The work actually cost less than I expected, and they honored the $25 coupon that I printed from Angie's List. Brian whistled while he worked - which made it seem like he actually enjoyed working in our tiny, cramped, damp pool bath! I called last night and the gentleman who answered the phone said they would call to schedule an appointment first thing - which they did (at about 7:45), and Brian arrived before 8:30AM and was done by 9:30AM. They gave me a choice of times, too, but I was delighted to have someone come right away. Great experience overall.
Description of Work: Replaced washers on leaking shower on/off controls, and snaked out drain (which was running slowly due to partial clog). This was in the shower for our pool bath, in a 1954 ranch house that hasn't been renovated. I think the plumbing fixtures in that shower are original.

Called during the afternoon to make my appointment. Called back that evening to specify that I wanted a certain type of valve (ball valve) because I thought that was the best. Was told no problem. Installer shows up with different type of valve, says they don't even carry ball valves, and that's not the correct valve for the job anyway. All right, but I would have liked the opportunity to research the valves a little further if I'm wrong about them. Also, the installer showed up on time but with no advance phone call (which I was specifically told I would receive). I like to know when someone is going to knock on my door. The little details of customer service go a long way. In this case, it's the difference between an 'A' and a 'B'.

I've had Peninsular Plumbing out for small repair jobs twice now and I was very happy with them both times. They seem to be able to send someone out on short notice, they're very punctual, and their prices seem quite fair. I mean, we all know that plumbers are expensive, but they did an excellent job and I certainly didn't feel that they overcharged me, so what more can you ask for? Next time I have a plumbing issue, I'll definitely call them again.

Joe Tomassi, our Senior Estimator, went to the member's residence to perform the estimate, however, nobody was home. Joe left a note to call the company and reschedule at the member's convenience. I spoke with the member who noted she never received our note. Peninsular Plumbing Company apologizes for the inconvenience and believes this was merely a case of miscommunication.
