Description of Work: Yearly maintenance contract. The price has gone up because, contrary to the description of Southern Comfort as a family owned company, this company now belongs to a nationwide corporation called Clockwork Home Services which includes BenFranklin Plumbing and Mr Sparky Electrical. They are no longer the family friendly A/C service company

+ -1 morethey are punctual and polite, but I wouldn't work with them again. They recommended either 2k in repairs or a new system - our system is not even 5 years old. We had two other companies come out for a second opinion, and they both thought we didn't need a new system and were being ripped off by this company. Buyer beware.
Description of Work: We are part of their serivce club program. Each time they come out, there is an exhaustive list of work that they find to be done. We didn't do the work they recommended (approximately 6k for a new system). Had two other companies come out who both said we do NOT need a new system.

I feel that they went above and beyond to explain each part and detail of installation, what I could expect in the future, and constantly assured me if I had any questions they would be there for me. + -1 moreTechnician was polite and listened to my rant about the price. He was also amazed that I was complaining about paying $367 for a capacitor that I was able to find online for $42 . Terrible experience!!
Description of Work: A/C was not running so we called Southern Comfort to come troubleshoot and repair. Technician arrived and found that a capacitor in the condensor unit had failed. He wanted to charge us $367 for the capacitor. I promptly refused, paid the $97 service fee and sent him on his way. Found the exact capacitor online for $71 which includes 2nd day UPS delivery. What a scam. I will NEVER do business with Southern Comfort One Hour A/C & Heating again!!!

+ -1 moreVery dependable and pleasant technicians. We did sign up for the periodic maintenance. As promised, they called and made an appointment for maintenance. Another thorough job by professional technicians. We were not surprised that recommendations were made to increase the life of the system at modest costs, but we were not pressured in any way to accept them.
Description of Work: Heat was not working. Technician did a thorough analysis and eventually determined that the blower motor was bad. The part had to be ordered, but George assured us (100%) that this would fix the problem. It took a couple of days (over the weekend) to get the part, but it was acquired and installed and has been working fine since (6 months).

Description of Work: I was replacing part of a rood on a duplex and thought I just needed to have both a/c units moved while the roofing work was being performed. In the process of completing the estimate I realized both units were very old so in a blink of an eye Southern Confort One Hour reveiwed my options gave me a good price and coordinate the installation, including the use of a full size crane, with my roof in less than 36 hours.

They pointed this out to us and it was very obvious that it needed work. They included this in their estimate. No one else we talked to included the duct work. We were very pleased with them. They were "Johnny on the Spot". They were there when they said they would be. They cleaned up very well after themselves, there was no mess when they left. They called to make sure we were happy with the service.
