One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of Bradenton

We were not experiencing any problems but after 3 hours, the tech determined that we "desperately" needed approximately $ 2,200.00 of repairs which we took under advisement. They were also to replace a sensor that was promised 5 months earlier. They returned to replace the sensor and determined that we had serious refrigerant leaks and recommended a total unit replacement instead of repairs. After they left, the system did not work at all. We called a local competitor for an estimate on system replacement and they observed few refrigerant leaks and wires disconnected on the A/C unit. They re-connected the wires and the system worked fine. This was my second bad experience with this vendor within 6 months. They are friendly and punctual but they are totally about the money - whether the repairs are necessary or not which is not acceptable.

More efficient and the work was neat and timely

Semi annual maintenance. I have a maintenance contract and they keep everything up to date and running with a very professional attitude.

Last April 2012 I chose Southern Comfort to install new AC system in my house. I interviewed three different companies and felt very comfortable with Southern Comfort. I sold my home and moved to a Condo in April 2012. I called Southern Comfort in May to come and do a maintenance check on the AC to get it ready for summer. Unfortunately the previous owner and home inspector did not tell the truth on the AC system and I had to have it replaced also. Southern Comfort was very honest with me. (found paper work for what was there behind the air handler) They could have just patched it up, but since I have MS, AC is very important for my health and well being. So I had a new unit installed in the condo. They are always punctual, nice and courteous. They know my health condition, and if something should go wrong I know they will come out promptly. Everyone from the first person you talk to on the phone to the installers and techs, all are friendly and seem happy to help you. Will continue to use them until I have reason not to.

In June, they came out within 24 hrs when we called that our a/c was not working properly. We had just purchased the home but knew since the a/c unit was over 8 yrs, it may need replacing. They came out, checked over everything and got it working. We set up appt. for them to come back to give us a bid on a new system. We also received other bids in the meantime. Even though their bid was a little higher, we decided to go with them because they offered a two speed furnace which is what we had up north.

My old heat/AC unit stopped working over the Labor Day weekend. I called the company I had been using but they couldn't send anyone to look at it then. I called One Hour and they had someone out that same day. They couldn't fix the broken blower motor because the parts supplier was closed but did fix it the two days later. I was impressed with their professionalism and punctuality during this whole episode. After this work I scheduled a routine maintenance check of the heat/AC unit with One Hour for October. When the service tech came out he showed me a leak in the coil. He offered to fix it and gave me a cost. Since the unit was over 5 years old I asked about a new unit. The service tech couldn't quote a price but set up a time when a sales rep could come to my house to show me the options. He arrived on time, calling just before arrival to let me know. He was friendly and not pushy and gave me a couple options. I was actually surprised when the cost was lower than what I'd expected but not too low. I ordered a new Trane unit. The first person to arrive on installation day was an electrician from Sparky. He had to upgrade the electricals for the new unit. This was included in the cost of the unit so there was no surprise cost for this. He was also professional and friendly. The team of two men arrived when expected to install the new unit. They were as professional as the others and worked all day on the job. When they finished they showed me the work. The new unit looks really good sitting on a new pad and hooded where it enters the house. The new electrical box next to the unit also looks very well done.

I would’ve thought that since I purchased the unit that I wouldn't be charged for maintenance for a certain period of time.The technicians were fine. They got the whole unit installed in a couple of hours. They cleanup was good.

We have been using their service for about a year and half now. The scheduling with them is fine and we have no problems. The technicians were efficient and polite. They have a good service. They have met our expectations.

They have always been very good. I have been using them for several years. They are very good about their scheduling and try to accommodate you the best way possible. They are easy to work with and their work is great. One time the technician spent over an hour cleaning the mold off the air conditioner that was very difficult to get to on the inside of the house. They are really clean and they wear booties on their feet when they are in the house. They are aware to leave the house in as good of shape as when they found it. They are very informative.

It was excellent. We have been using them for 6 years now and we are really pleased with them. We have recommended them to others. They are here when they say they are going to come. They even wear booties on their feet so they don’t track anything in the house, and I find that very professional. They are very punctual and they call before they come so I know when they will be here.

They are very good. I have service plan with them and they come twice a year. I have been with them for about 4 years. They are a little expensive but you get what you pay for. I have the same technician each time and he knows exactly what to do and I trust the guy.

They did a great job. They were honest and prompt and we definitely recommend them.

They are very dependable, thorough and competitively priced. Today actually is about one year from the install and they called to come by and check the unit out. I actually live in another state, so it is very nice that they lined up the work and were able to take care of things while I am away. We had dealt with another company on the old unit and we needed service asap. Well that company said they wouldn't be able to get to us right away. Southern Comfort was able to get to us in 2 days. They got a crain out to Siesta Key, got the unit installed and the condo was cool by Friday. (We had originally called them on Monday and selected them on Wednesday for the job!)

They have always been really good. They take care of everything perfectly. They are very nice. They are always on time.

Of course the technician offered additional services that were not needed, but had an additional cost. I declined. The technician performed the maintenance. After a few days we started to notice the A/C was not cooling as well. Eventually, the A/C stopped altogether. We called for repair service. The next technician came out and discovered that a TOWEL had been left inside the outside unit. It jammed the fan causing the A/C to shut down. The only persons to ever touch that A/C unit were Southern Comfort technicians. This technician accused me or someone else of opening the unit by unscrewing and removing the large metal cover and inserting a towel. (I was in a wheel chair!)

They were very professional; they cleaned up after themselves, the air conditioner is working very well, they explained the programming of the thermostat, and they explained the furnace. We had put on UV light Ozone to chill bacteria and fungus from growing inside the unit which keeps it out of the house and it is top of the line. We are very happy with them. We went with the more expensive unit since we wanted it.

Did not go very well.

I love using their service. I am very pleased with them. They are very good people to work with. They have excellent mechanics, are very neat and clean, they wear uniforms as well. They make you feel comfortable.

They were great. The install went very well. The quality of the system greatly improved the efficiency and our comfort level. Before the system was installed it was humid and the air did not seem clean. The new system took care of that and lowered the monthly electric bill.

15 minutes into a routine maintenance, they said it would cost $2000 for parts or $5000 for a new a/c unit - inside and out - to fix the problems. There were NO Problems. They told me many parts of the Trane unit were bad and needed to be replaced - but the air conditioner was working just fine. I had a 2nd opinion the next week from another company - who told me Southern Comfort lied when they said all the parts were bad. Southern Comfort wanted me to spend at least $2000 up to $5000 to fix or replace an air conditioner that didn't have anything wrong with it. I feel they ripped me off even charging me $99 for the maintenance call - the company who gave me the 2nd opinion said Southern Comfort didn't do anything during the maintenance call. They should refund my $99. Date: 1/15/2013 I see where Southern Comfort One Hour Air is stating we used someone else - BS - I have a charge on my credit card for $99 from Southern Comfort One Hour Air in Bradenton, FL BUYER BEWARE!

They arrived exactly on time. Do to some scheduling issues at their office however, the technicians did not get the duct cleaning machine until late in the afternoon necessitating a second visit the next day to complete the work. The work included sanitizing the systems, for which i was given a discount due to the inconvenience of the scheduling. Technicians were knowledgeable and courteous.

Same as it has for 7 years. Flawlessly. In the time we have employed Southern Comfort we have never had a technicion who didn't work out perfectly. If ever there was a problem one call to Rick Allard, the owner, the problem would be over with.
