Description of Work: They came out for general service. Found multiple things wrong and their repair prices were high to fix my existing system. They told me that i had to replace my gas heat system when i put in a new AC system, which is NOT true. Talking to neighbors I learned that heir prices for new units are different for different people.I was originally quoted about $11,000 but then it was reduced to $10,000. I went with someone else who left my existing 9 yr old gas heater and should last about 18 more years and they just replace the AC for $5,200 for a 4 ton unit.....quite a savings. Be wary of this company, many of my neighbors are replacing their entire systems when it is not even necessary.... be sure to get multiple quotes.

Description of Work: Southern Comfort One Hour Air has been a pleasure to work with. I have now had to A/C units installed by them and both experiences have been stress free and handled professionally and rapidly without any issues. I had a 4 ton top AC unit put in the main area in 2009 with a very nice deal on a beautiful new top of the line Trane System. I continued to use them for semi-annual maintenance and though they have found small issues by and large I do not feel they have nit-picked or gauged me in anyway. | |Recently, my smaller unit in the upstaris a 2 ton unit went bye bye. I delat with Billy D, who is excellent, professional and extremely fair. He was courteous and used no pressure in dealing with my replacement unit. He did not push me into a big fancy unit and told me for the upstairs I was better with a middle of the road brand that would do just as well. I went with a Southern Comfort unit, their own line, which came with an incredible warranty and included services. It is working great and Southern Comfort was willing to give me an excellent price, that even a good friend of mine who is an HVAC contractor in Fort Myers said was a cannot beat deal. Installation as with the first unit was seamless and professional and they have been excellent in following up and checking on the unit. | |I highly recommend this company and Billy D as well to help out from service and maintenance to AC replacement and I am very happy with the decision I made to use them.

Description of Work: They performed my semi-annual routine A/C check-up and maintenance. They were on time, thorough, courteous, answered all the questions I had about how the unit was doing, and professional. The only suggestion for improvement I have is that the company should provide them with a garden hose, so that they can hose clean the outside condenser units. They have to use your hose. I am happy with their service. They have been very accommodating with any problems I have experienced.

Description of Work: Since they have enlarged their company they are always selling you something you do not need. They now provide electric and plumbing in addition to AC . Interestingly enough, now when I have an AC repair it always necessitates an electrician repair also! Worst offense: when they diagnose a problem, they order one part at a time if installing that part doesn't work , they order another part- once I went 7 weeks without air while they tried to figure out the problem- one part at a time ! If only I didn't have brand new air conditioners and warranties with them , it would sure be "so long"! They used to be the very best, but now this company is the very worst- don't get involved with them!

Description of Work: Air condtion broke on sunday evening their price to repair was not worth so we replaced it we just felt pressured to replace it should of shopped around for cheaper unit, had trouble with their scheduling with the county inspectors, the whole install was finally complete 2/3 months after it started. When they came for 6 month checkup they tried to sell me something for a brand new unit. Very sketchy..

Description of Work: They replaced our main a/c. We had a 4 zone system that did not work well and we always fought controlling the 4 zones as we wanted. Southern Comfort came and recommended a different system that has worked well.

Description of Work: Good job, I think they got the message. |They have gone from a great company to work with when they were Southerns Comfort to a mostly marketing machine back to a reliable outfit. | |It was a routine service call for service. They were extremely thorough. I am very pleased!

Description of Work: We have a second home in Sarasota, Florida. We arrived to find the air conditioner was not working. This was the third time it had failed. As we were only going to be there for a week, it was essential to have the replacement unit installed quickly. We called Southern Comfort on Monday morning. A sales rep arrived several hours later and reviewed our needs and contacted his office to see if the replacement unit could be installed that day. David (sorry I don't remember his last name) was very understanding and helpful during the entire process. The installers were very efficient and installed the new unit that very afternoon. Unfortunately, during installation, they neglected to check the drain pipe. Late the next night we heared water dripping. We called the company at 10:30 at night, they sent a service man out within 30 minutes and corrected the issue. The unit has performed perfectly since. All the personnel at Southern Comfort were friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to use them again and to refer them positively.

Description of Work: Called One Hour Air formerly (Southern Comfort ) for maintenance. The tech. talked on his phone during the whole visit. Charged us for a bad relay he discovered and recommended it be replaced. I told him to change it and that it should be covered under our extended warranty. They did not honor our warranty and charged us for the relay. Suggested that our air handler be replaced and the cost would be around eleven hundred dollars! Needless to say that was two and a half years ago! Would not recommend or use them again. Andy K.
