New Dawn Electric

While renovating a house I came across an electric problem I could not solve. Using Angie's List I called New Dawn Electric and got a quick response back. An appointment was set up and the owner arrived right on schedule. He diagnosed a quite unusual problem in a very short amount of time. As I had other work in that room I could not have him finish the repairs. Several weeks later when I needed the electric work finished he was on a family vacation. To accommodate me, he drove to my job from his vacation site, finished the repairs quickly and went back to join his family. I could not have been more impressed.

A nice enough guy. Showed up a little late, slow to return calls. Very simple job - just needed to replace two switches. Looked at them and disappeared for hours, apparently looking for the switches. Never called to say where he was. He did return a couple hours later with switched in the wrong color, but close enough. If I wanted to wait he would have been happy to order the right color, so I don't blame him for that. He did an OK job, just not "A" worthy

Great provider. Fast, competent, cleaned up completely afterwards. Definitely will call again to do more work.

I had an old electrical line that somehow got shorted to ground about a year ago. New Dawn electric did some diagnostic work (ie: dug up the old line and tried to find where the fault to ground was). All during this work I helped him as he could not do this alone. The trenching machine was a real B***TCH to handle and I got my tractor out, put a chain on the trencher and pulled it up the hill while he pushed and pulled to control it, (it would have been a lot easier if we didn't have a hill but trenchers have a mind of their own.) Then once the trench was cut, he put in a new 10 guage line. Instead of leaving this line bare, he put some tough plastic conduit over the wire so rocks can't punch through again. (that's why the quality rating (above) is the highest. he made sure that his installation is not going to cause trouble later.) the price was good, (esp since he added in the conduit). and he knew what he was doing and didn't mind me helping along the way. I'd hire this company again.

Our entire experience with New Dawn was fantastic! From scheduling (we needed to schedule within a few days) to the actual work, everything went smoothly. Quality work and price was very reasonable and exactly as quoted. Will definitely keep in mind if future electrical needs arise!

Allen was very nice, efficient and professional. He checked for loose connections. I will have him back in the future to replace all hallway ceiling lights and a kitchen light. Very reasonable price.

Allan came out and assessed the job, got the parts and completed the job. His creativity in determining the optimal solution was fantastic! He determined a simpler way to accomplish the job, saving time and money, and with a better outcome. He will be my go to electrician in the future! I have also already recommended him to a friend!

Bought an AL deal for 2 hours of service. They returned my call to schedule within 1 business day, and scheduled me for the same week. Allan, the electrician, installed a ceiling fan (12' ceiling) and a ceiling light fixture. He was able to install the fan after another contractor told me it could not be installed in my ceiling (no attic access, but electricity already there). Very professional, courteous. Will be hiring again for more work in the near future!

Allen did a great job installing a Panasonic bathroom exhaust fan. It was a more difficult install due to the location of the existing fan. Allen was able to complete the job in less than 2 hours and it looks and works perfectly. Will use again.

He saved us from a house fire. We were really please that he checked a little extra. I would refer them.

The serviceman from New Dawn Electric did an outstanding job. He was very professional, answered any questions that I had, showed me what he was doing, and after that we were able to hook up the invertor system for the generator. I would use New Dawn Electric again in a heart beat.

Extremely thorough. Reviewed all the issues and then made a list of items that needed to be bought to remedy. Quick trip to the local store to get all replacement parts. Fixed broken wiring in a lamp post. Replaced several outdated outdoor receptacles with current code. Fixed and/or replaced landscape lighting....other companies said they would not deal with low voltage products, which would've meantthe need to find another provider. Replaced sensor in outdoor light timer, repaired a junction box. In short, he was able in a short time and for a reasonable cost repair a number of nagging issues.

New Dawn Electric call us ahead to reconfirm appointments and they show up on time. They have all the equipment they need and are just reliable.

The contractor did a quality job, working within space limitations and keeping rough in installations within exact placements to support additional appliance fixtures. There were no issues. We were completely satisfied.

I had some electrical work as well as lighting done in two visits. Mr. Quickel was great and made sure that everything was clean when he left.

Called New Dawn Electric on Monday. Allan arrived Tuesday and promptly diagnosed my issue and made repairs. Professional, effecient and I would definitely recommend New Dawn!

The electrician (Allan) who did the work was very professional, and stayed on the job quite a bit longer than this job normally takes him. He left me a list of the specific items that needed attention. I gave the company an "A" rating because I am comfortable that the work done was done right. However, I have a two suggestions that might be useful to them. 1. Learn to communicate electrical concepts in a language the rest of us non-electricians can understand. Allan did his best to explain things, but there was so much industry jargon, there were a number of times I had no idea what he was telling me. 2. Make sure the client has seen and understood the new labeling on the panel. When he was done, Allan went over his safety suggestions with me, but did not go over the "new" labeling on the electrical panels. When I went into the basement to take a look at the relabeled panels, I found that Allan had hand-written over top of the existing (old) labeling. That would have been OK if the writing was clean and legible. It wasn't. I took a picture of the panels and created a typed table of what was what. I had to go back into the basement a couple of times and try to make out what some of the switches were labeled. I think I got everything identified, but it certainly would have been easier if he had gone over it with me. I would suggest your company invest in some full-sheet Avery-type labels (peel and stick) and create a simple table form that Allan could use to write in the switch number and what it controls. Your could either apply the label right onto the panel or give it to the customer. Even if it wasn't the right size, your customer would still have a readable list.

The service was pretty good overall. We liked the electrician; he was cordial and thorough. He also made suggestions that we may follow up on.

We also hired them to return and address the found issues, which included broken switches, non-functional GFCIs, bad grounds, etc. They were always punctual, friendly, and reasonable. I would recommend them highly.

Totally excellent. We have lived in our house over 33 years. In the years a number of electrical changes and additions have been done by various electricians. Allen was most through in checking and evaluating the status and safety of those changes. Several were in need of improvement/correction and this work has been subsequently accomplished by New Dawn Electric. All was fair, reasonable and professionally accomplished. It was a pleasure to work with Allen.

New Dawn Electric's master electrician was very fast and very knowledgeable . He had a challenge , working around the painting crew in the house on the same day. He provided excellent service and was invited back on another call to install GFI device and other switches and receptacles. Excellent job!!!!

The overall experience was great. I was told up front about the cost and the final cost for the installation was not a surprise. The final cost was what I anticipated, no surprises. The owner, Mr. Quickel, was courteous and professional.

Overall it went very well except for the additional charge.

The whole thing went very well and I was impressed by the professionalism of the person doing the work. He gave me the results and recommended a couple of things that I could do myself, but did try to sell me additional work. However, based on this experience, I plan to use this company to do some electrical work that I already had been thinking about doing before taking advantage of the Big Deal to get this inspection done.
