New Dawn did an excellent job replacing my chandelier! They were prompt, professional, pleasant and very reasonably priced.

Allan arrived an hour earlier than initially scheduled and quickly got to work. We were very pleased that he used a tarp to keep the work area clean. We expected that he would need to make several holes in the ceiling and wall to run the new wire; however, after spending some time up in the attic adjacent to our living room, he said that the new wire had been run with NO HOLES! We highly recommend New Dawn Electric and will definitely use them again for any future electrical needs we may have.

Great job. It cost more than I expected because I was not aware of how complicated the job would be. Nonetheless, I have heat and am very happy with the result.

My first contact with New Dawn Electric was talking to Allan's wife who scheduled the appointment. She has fantastic customer service skills! I told we recently moved to the area and after a few minutes she gave me the names and numbers to a plumber and handy man. She believes in her husband's work and ensured me that he could handle the foyer light (based on the height) with no problems and the other repairs. We had to re-schedule twice bc of the horrible weather in Maryland but each time New Dawn called and re-schedule with the next available appointment. I'm glad I waited! Allan is professional and personable. He was unable to install the shower light bc I had bought the wrong unit, but he told me exactly where I could go to get the proper unit and how easy it would be to install. He worked quickly buy carefully. We had our foyer recently painted to include the ceiling. He left no marks on the ceiling or walls. As for getting the biggest ladder I have ever seen into our foyer, he did it without hitting anything! I am very pleased with New Dawn Electric. I will use New Dawn Electric again!

Not much to say other than they did a great job. Allan showed up early and got the job done. He was very thorough and gave me some good insight - I have an older house that has some bad wiring. I will definitely use these guys again. They are definitely a company you can trust - they are not going to try and upsell you or over charge you on anything. Great. Extremely friendly and professional. Called ahead of arrival to give a closer estimate on time. Had planned for 2 hours of work and it went over a bit. Good coupon available on Angie's List. I would definitely call this provider again. Work was high-quality and thorough. Cleared all debris at end.

We bought their $152 for 2 hours deal - it was great! The electrician came through and did an inspection of our (very old) house we bought and gave his suggestions on any work that should be done in the future, and what was currently fine. He also installed 2 ceiling fans, one of which needed some re-wiring. Very professional, great communication, punctual, we are very pleased and have recommended them to some family in need of electrical work. We hope to use them again soon. Thank you!

I initially used an Angie's list deal for a safety check. I then had them come back to complete various small electrical jobs. He was prompt and allowed me to order the supplies ahead of time to save money. Would absolutely recommend to others!

Their price is fair and they’re very good about communication on appointments. He is very accommodating with working calls in for existing clients, even with a busy schedule.

We recently moved from the West coast and encountered a few problems at our new house. Not knowing who to contact for electrical work, I relied on reviews on Angie's list and contracted New Dawn Electric. Kelly is delightful to work with on scheduling and Allan is the quintessential gentleman and master electrician. If we need electrical work done in the future, I will definitely call New Dawn Electric and highly recommend them.

On the basis of mostly stellar reports from Angies list, we called New Dawn Electric, as wanted a different electrician than the one that installed our timer that was failing after only a few years. His wife was very pleasant and efficient and noted down all details of what we needed, so that her husband would have everything on the truck with him. Arranged for him to come at 8am in a few days time. Also told me that there would be a $35 additional fuel charge for Montgomery county as they are so far away ( so that should be noted on the areas serviced). On the assigned morning, Allen called at 8am and said he was running late and had hit traffic, so he turned up closer to 9am. Unfortunately the details his wife had noted had not been sufficient for him to bring the necessary replacement parts. He changed the light bulbs, replace the light fixtures and then had to go off to a home depot to purchase the necessary supplies. This meant that the time he charged us for included the trip and so raised the price considerably. He replaced the timer with one that looked like it was out of the 1970s as we said that we didn't want one that relied on batteries- but he didn't check with us before installing it. My husband was home, and by the time he was shown the new timer - Allen had already been working for us for a few hours, and the timer was already fixed. However, when I came home and saw it, I knew it was unacceptable as it had limited functionality and did not fit our needs. We emailed a complaint and Allen called and said he would do some research and call us back. he did eventually call and arrange to come around and did switch timers to one that was more suitable and did not charge us anything for the extra visit as he wanted us to be happy. Thats why I gave him an A for professionalism.

My range exhaust fan motor had seized up. Allan came in and diagnosed that the motor was bad within a minute, and gave me my option to either order parts from Broan or simply purchase a whole new unit depending on my timeline and budget. I elected to purchase a new hood. Allan very speedily went and purchased a new hood and installed it all within an hour's time. I will definitely use him again for future electrical work!

Allan is fantastic. From his prompt return of emails, to his fantastic handiwork. It's easy to see that Allan has a passion for his work, and he wants all his clients to be happy. Allan blew me away in several regards- First, he was on time- how often does that happen? He showed up when he said he would, which made me so happy. He also put plastic/sheets down, so that the area he was working in (our living room) wasn't covered in dust and a mess. At the end of the day, he picked it all up, and even vacuumed the room. That's going above and beyond, and we deeply appreciated that kind of service. The work he did is perfectly done and he didn't cut any corners. He explained everything he did to me, and showed me how everything works. His pricing is fair and easy to understand. We would use New Dawn Electric again in a heartbeat.

The work was entirely satisfactory--very professional without any problems. I admit this is my fault: I paid for 2 hours of electrical work, but the work was completed in 1 hour, so I didn't really get my money's worth from this deal. The electrician was a half hour late (no big deal--traffic in the area is always awful), and he finished everything in 1 hour flat. I wish he had asked me if I had any other electrical work I needed done because I still had an hour left. As I said, I should have had more work lined up for him, but I really had no idea how long the work I planned would take. So...it was a learning experience on my part. I recommend if you use one of Angie's List deals based on time (X amount of money for X hours of work) plan to have enough work to fill the time...maybe even more than you think can be done and then you can decide whether to pay extra or leave something to be done later. I wish I had had the foresight to do that. All that being said, I would use New Dawn again. They were extremely responsive and gave me a good range of days and times. The work was all done to perfection.

We thought we had a serious electrical problem and purchased the 2 hour special service. We lost power to 2 major rooms. After surveying the problems we were having he made a small correction and everything was fixed. He then asked if we had other problems. We did. Each time we used our toaster oven and micro wave at the same time we blew a circuit. He advised us how to change our setup so this would not happen in the future. We had an electrical socket that has never worked. Previously everyone else who looked at it said it would require a major rewiring, so we did not do that. He investigated and discovered that the outlet had never been properly hooked up, it took him 5 minutes to fix. Though we had purchase 2 hours service, we only used 1 hour and that is all he charged. I will call this company in the future for any electrical problems.

Al appeared within 2 mins of agreed time. He did exactly what we asked and appeared very professional from his phone and internet communications to the quality of work provided. We changed the date of service several times because internet purchased items didn't appear as promised, but this didn't phase him at all. His Wife Kelly provides a very friendly and cooperative phone/appointment backup.

My service went well. The technician arrived to accomodate my schedule. He was fast and efficient. In the future, I will always use New Dawn.

Fan was fine. Electric box in middle of side of house. Seemed like the quickest way and I did not know the difference.

Excellent. I am very much a do it yourselfer. I can handle electrical work, drywall work, some plumbing, etc... So I know what I am doing. As I've gotten older and time is at a premium, I off load work that I would otherwise have done myself. I've run new circuits myself in the past, but I just don't have time anymore. So I scoured Angie's List and New Dawn had some very high marks. So I scheduled a visit from them. I didn't need an estimate since I knew what I needed done and I would be happy paying the hourly rate plus materials. So my number one pet peeve for contractors (or lets call it my 1A priority) is that they know what they are doing and that they don't extend the visit to extract more from me since they are working hourly. Allan knows what he is doing. I was impressed by his professionalism. In addition, I was expecting the work to take longer than it did. So that was a nice bonus to have him finish faster than I thought. My second priority is that the contractor is a person that I'd trust home alone with my wife and young kids. No issues here. I'd have no issues with Allan at my home alone. He is friendly and knows what he is doing. Plus and plus. I've found my permanent go to electrician. Finding New Dawn was worth my Angie's List membership fee. I am very happy.

Rewired and reinstalled an electrical box that a "handyman" had wired incorrectly. Rewired and installed new light switches. Very courteous and efficient. I would definitely recommend them.
