Sloppy, unprofessional work.

We have granite counter tops in our kitchen. When the electrical outlets were installed, for some reason the cutouts in the granite did not match up with the outlets. The granite company went out of business and we "made do" with the situation. We are now readying our home for sale and tried a recommendation from an acquaintance but that did not work out. Today, yes Saturday- we were in desperate need for a repair to the outlet and I told my husband I would call Mr. Sparky in the North Port/Venice area in Florida. Our call was answered quickly by a young lady (Alisa) who took our information and informed us that they were booked for the day, but she could put us on the on-call list. I asked about price and she told me that the price for on- call is $59.00 which is their regular rate for a service call - even on a weekend. The $59.00 would be added to the total cost of the bill. I asked Elise to put us on the on-call list and then called her back and said please schedule us for Monday, which she did. However, a little while later she called back and said that there was a technician in the area just finishing up and he would be able to come by our home. I said that would be great. Jerry M. arrived as stated and got to work. He put booties on as soon as he got in the door. He spoke with my husband and looked at the work to be done. He bought the right tools for the job, was professional, personable. I knew that after working all day his uniform would not be clean- I did not expect it to be- but his shirt was tucked in! Jerry completed the job in a timely manner and even accepted the coupon we had (free $59.00 service call found in Clipper Magazine). He did a great job and even checked the panel box in the garage and did an adjustment or two. I would highly recommend Mister Sparky and especially Jerry. I would like to thank Alisa for her professional courtesy! She was great!

The Mr. Sparky fellows were prompt. One was the installer and the other fellow said he was training the installer to know more about the range of available products and that he was there to provide additional information. He came across to me as a salesman. When I told them about the Angie's List BigDeal, the salesman acted like he did not know what I was talking about. The "trainer/salesman" proceeded to tell me that the ANGIE'S LIST deal for whole house surge protection was not sufficient for my home. However, my home is small.....only 2000 sq. feet and I have minimal electrical needs.....only the basic electric appliances and a TV. The sales fellow continued to "up sale" me. Afterhe got me totally confused with so many options, I went with the recommendation of "the best one" which, of course, was the most expensive. I've hesitated to write and submit this review because I feel that the Mr. Sparky company name seems to be well respected in my area. I perhaps just had a pushy sales person on that day. I should have called the Mr. Sparky office right then; but, I did not. In the future, if I call up Mr. Sparky for services, if I feel that I am being "up sold", I will call the Mr. Sparky office and discuss that issue with a manager/supervisor before being persuaded to spend more than I had planned to spend.

I called Mister Sparky on a Sunday evening to investigate sudden loss of electrical power in some but not all rooms in the house. The agent on the phone requested information and then dispatched an electrician, who arrived on time as promised. The technician was knowledgeable and personable and confirmed failure of several circuit breakers. He suggested replacing those and installing a surge protector on the electrical panel itself--all of which seemed reasonable. Before starting, he detailed the work and the cost involved. Although it seemed expensive, it was important to get the job done. The technician accomplished this quickly and restored power where it had failed. Because he did not have enough of the preferred circuit breakers on this truck, he put in another as a stopgap and promised to return the next day to make the switch. This, too, was accomplished as promised. I was happy with the service and the work provided by Mister Sparky, but I was less happy with the price to do the job. I suspect that the parts themselves amounted to little or no more than a couple of hundred dollars, but the overall charge of over $1100 seemed excessive, even for an emergency call on a weekend night. Although I appreciated being informed of the job details and charges in advance of the work, it seems that much of the electrician's time was spent in filling out an inordinate amount of paperwork. In summary, I can recommend Mister Sparky's work and availability but not their fee scale.

Tech was told what to do, then charges us $232.00 as a diagnosis fee. There is nothing to diagnosis, just replace the ground fault and replace the ground cable. Call the company and spoke with the Operations Mgr, wanted to know if we signed for the work said yes and are very upset with the diagnosis fee. Said he did not have the paperwork and would call me back. That was last night, I called again an hour ago and was told he is in the building, still no call back. I really dont expect one, they know they did us wrong with the diagnosis fee.

Price was high at first then we were able to come roman agreement after a call to the manager. Thank you guys, and excellent work! George

The service tech was courteous and punctual, used shoe protectors and cleaned up after himself. After completeing his scheduled work, he reviewed the circuit breaker box and made recommendations for future actions. I liked everything about the work but the price. I felt their prices are a good bit higher that comparable service providers. I would not hesitate to recommend the service tech, but will think twice about calling them back

This is the second time in the last 6 months I have used company. Again, I was glad I called them. Office and service people are all friendly and helpful. Arrived on-time, as scheduled. Work was professionally done and promptly. Will continue to call Mister Sparky in the future when I need electrical work done.

He did a good job on the work, but the price was higher than others. The service people were clean and prompt. I probably would not use him again because of the price.

The service electrician was very professional and explained everything. Would definately use again.

They were expensive but well worth it. Great service. They wrote an entire sheet out for me explaining that they could do anything else that I needed done. They were clean and professional. Just a great company.

The individual was very pleasant and professional and did thre work he was asked to do in a very proficient fashion. His suggestions for additional work were valid and useful and we are happy that they are done. Our only issue was pricing; when you pay someone a sum that people earn in a month for a day's labour (and parts), it's a bit much. I believe they are trained and rewarded for spotting deficiencies that they can then fix.

Called company on Saturday and set appointment for Monday morning. Service/electricians came at appointed time (even though we live in rural, hard-to-find location.) They did thorough evaluation and explanation of what could be done for replacement/repair/installation. Very good workmanship & professionalism. I would use this company again.

They were exceptional. They came out two additional times at no additional cost, which I love. They ended up installing a grounding system and installed a whole house surge protection unit. I wouldn't hesitate to call them in a heart beat. They technician who came out was great. He was also professional, neat and clean. Anybody who needs any electrical work shouldn't hesitate to call them. They were great!

Went well. I am not an electrical expert, so I cannot say if the system works or not, since we have not had a power outage since installation, or anything unusual with the power. The installer did, however, show me prices on other services they perform, which I thought were way overpriced. For instance, for 5 low profile 10 year guarantee smoke detectors, the installed price was over $1,000, and yet I had them installed by a local electician for $300. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Excellent service from start to finish. Agreed to attend my problem at short notice and found the fault quickly and explained everything to me and made recommendations for the future. Very satisfied.

Very professional and knowlegable. Prompt and friendly service. Overall the service performed was smooth and done well with competancy and quality.

Mister Sparky's was able to find the problem with the wiring and fix the buzzing light switch. They checked several other light switches for their wiring as well. They suggested to rewire the whole house but it is something I'll have to look into doing in the future.

They really did a good job. The crew was very friendly and professional. They were on time to the appointment and very easy to work with. I would use this company again if I needed them.
