They have done a really good job. Generally they have been excellent in the past and I continue to use them.

I had Massey for a year and a half and was mostly satisfied until last December. I was caught up in the holidays but saw 3 ant mounds appear on my lawn on Dec.15 and felt we were due for a treatment soon so I figured they would be on it soon. In Jan. 2020 I received a bill for services performed on Dec. 12th. What had me confused was I never got the receipt of the tech's visit which was always hanging on the door handle. I called and asked why I was being billed for a service I never received. I was told I did receive treatment, but due to a major "system crash" they were unable to provide a statement. I asked them to provide one then. They could not, but wanted the quarterly payment. I refused to pay. Proof of treatment would be no bugs. Really, that is the determining factor when your business is pest control, Am I right? They didn't think so. I then received a letter from the GM that a lien would be put on my house if I didn't pay. I paid. I have still not received a statement or a receipt. I will never hire them again and will deter anyone from using their service. Word of mouth is the best advertising; it can also be the worst.

Keep away from Massey lawn services in Bradenton. My lawn is a mess, and they will not accept responsibility. I used Massey for many years for lawn control, and no one else. Over the last few years, I would call them between scheduled services to re-treat, as colorful weeds of all types were growing. I asked them to leave something so that I knew they had been there. Nothing was left. Weeds continued do grow, to such an extent, that neighbors were commenting on the poor shape our lawn was in. One of their salesmen was here yesterday, as he 'heard' that I was not happy with my lawn. He could not believe what he saw. He promised to get back to me before end of day, to let me know if he could get HQ to handle the matter. So far, he has not called me, so I guess it was just another broken promise. There is one large area where a half pallet of sod is needed to fix the mess. About a year ago, I was watching from within my house, as the technician "treated" my lawn. He did not put down weed killer via the back-pack spray. I came out and asked him if he applied the spray, and he lied to my face that he did. Recently a different "lawn technician" told me on his last 'treatment' that if I did not like his service, I should find another company. I was on a bi-monthly plan, yet they would treat in a shorter duration. I suspect they did that to increase their cash flow. Today, I noticed THREE fire ant nests on my front lawn. Many of the neighbors on my street that heretofore used Massey have gone to other service companies. I too am going to do such. The local office has made promises over the last year, but obviously they did not honor them. From my experiences, I suggest that you stay far away from Massey lawn care, as they are not what they used to be.

Mike, the Massey Pest Prevention technician, arrived at 3:58 pm on 8/14/18. I had an appointment at a neighbor's home at 4:00 and met the tech in the driveway. I told him I found three large red ants around the laundry room in the past week. I explained that a Massey tech came out last year and found an ant infestation along the retaining wall on our property. I asked Mike to check the wall and also treat any ant mounds. I told him I had to leave and to let my husband know when he was done. I returned home about 20 minutes later and Mike was in his truck doing paperwork. We went into the house and he told me that he treated the exterior with bait, which he said should take care of any ants. He also said that he had sprayed the crevices and cracks (baseboards) of the interior of my house. I was furious when I heard this information. At no time did I ask him to treat the interior of my house with a pesticide. I asked him why he thought he had permission to spray in the house. He said, "Nobody told me not to". I asked him what chemical he used as there was nothing on his report that indicated he treated anywhere inside the house. He said he used Arilon. I looked it up in the computer while he was talking and found that Arilon is a Category 4 pesticide for exterior use only. Furthermore, it causes damage if inhaled and to organs. When I told him this, he said it comes in a packet and is diluted in water and that they've been using it in homes with no problems. I would never have allowed this product to be sprayed in my home. I told him that I did not tell him to treat inside my home. I asked him to make sure to note on our account to never spray inside. I asked him to write on his report exactly what he had used and what he did and then he left. I then asked my husband if he let Mike into the house. He said he had been in the master bedroom and came out and found Mike in the laundry room, which is off the garage. He said he never heard a knock and that he thought I let Mike into the house to spray. So, Mike came into the house through the open garage without being invited and proceeded to spray a pesticide in our home without even asking us if he could do so. I would have expected a well trained tech to knock and wait to be invited to enter, explain what he planned to do, and answer any questions before proceeding. Had that happened, he would have been stopped from spraying. In my opinion, Mike's actions were unprofessional and totally inappropriate. I called the company to speak with his supervisor and was told he was on leave but that a regional person was due in the office shortly. That person called the next afternoon while I was out. He told my husband he would call back the next day. He never called back. So much for customer service! Needless to say, we have cancelled our account with Massey.

They were great, friendly, and did excellent work.

I explained my experiences above. They should be clearer where their fees are concerned and they should follow-up after a period of time.

Overall the work was excellent. I would definitely recommend them to the others. They got behind on schedule because they were on another job, but they called and let me know about it. I will most definitely use their services again in the future.

We have been happy with them. We have been living here for five years and we have been pleased with them. They are dependable since they come. They give feedback and each time they are here, they have a report. We had pest control in Denver who used to leave a little piece of paper, but Massey Services leave a sheet of paper which is eight and a half by eleven. It describes what they did each time. They come with a brush and clean the cobwebs down which keeps the spiders down. They are very thorough with all the things that they do. We have squirrels and even rats get up in the home here. There is a lot of water out here where we live. In fact, the neighbor just asked us if we had rats. The people who are here are only there for part of the year. When they come back, their homes have critters that have made a mess up in their attics. Massey Services have even gone up and set traps. They are very good. They are in many other places. They are really fantastic. Their program which has the tubes in the house and what they do outside with the termites is very scientific. We have not ever seen a termite in the five years that we have lived in this house and that's unheard of. They clean outside my house each month when they come out. They get up there to clean the cobwebs. They go all around the outside of our pool cage and the outside of our house. That's where the critters get into your house. If they start to get in, then that's from out there. We have two different service agreements from them. They give a discount for paying for the entire year. I trust them and I trust them well enough. We don't even have to be bothered with it. They just collect it once a year and they are here every month. They are very thorough, dependable and we like them. There are a lot of people down here in Florida who are not dependable. When it comes to the service that they provide, they do more than a lot of other companies like the tubes in the ground. It's of very good value and what they charge is very fair. I would give them five stars for their quality. They are very good. They are responsive. Whenever we have called them, they have had somebody come right away. I had ants one time. So, I called them and they came out. I found out that during a certain time of the year when it's dry, ants come in the house and come up in your bathtub drain. So, they came out and looked around. They were thorough and made sure that's what it was. They didn't assume and told me to keep the drain closed in my bathtub. I made sure and there were no more ants after a while. So, we don't have to worry about keeping the drain closed. When we had rain again, the ants stayed away. They don't schedule with me, but they did come when I had the problem with the ants. They do what they say. When they came to do the trapping of the critters in the attic, the guy baited a trap and he came back to get them exactly the day he said he was going to come back. They call if they are not going to be here when they say or if they are running late. They are very professional too.
