It was great. The service has been fine and when they came out. Unfortunately we had an issue a little late in the summer with the air conditioner went out and we couldn’t get anyone from them to come out and assist and they didn’t returned our calls for a while so I found another provider. They were fine last year, as far as this year goes, I’m probably not going to use their service contract with them. The pricing is fine. They could improve their contact part after you make the appointment. They just kind of drop the ball on getting someone out here and we were having problems and it was really hot in the summer so I wasn’t too happy so I just found another person.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal coupon from them. It’s supposed to be more of a just kind like a maintenance check-up kind of a thing.

Although I was pleased with the initial installation, I feel they let me down somewhat with follow-up service. When A/C is out in Florida, it's a big deal, and the customer expects rapid response. I did not receive call backs in a timely manner. In addition, I learned after hiring a different company for repairs that Larry Pearson's team incorrectly wired one of our two new A/C units during the initial install. This resulted in a false error code being sent by the unit. This review updates an earlier, more positive one.

Installation was arranged quickly and on short notice. (Other companies required long lead times for installation.) Larry Pearson beat competitors and got the contract for three reasons: a) Price was extremely attractive compared to other bids; b) the estimator suggested forgoing heat pumps and using electric heat modules built into the A/C units; heat pumps have more problems and a shorter longevity that straight A/C units. We use heat very rarely in Florida so heat pumps would be overkill and would not provide significant utility savings. No other company made this recommendation. c) Our existing units were both sized identically; the recommendation for the replacement units was that they be sized differently to better reflect the square footage that each unit would be cooling. Again, no other company made this suggestion. We did have some initial problems with the install; one of the units was not properly adjusted, and both thermostats, although supposedly state of the art, did not work satisfactorily nor were they properly mounted to the wall. Rick, a manager at Larry Pearson, made sure these problems were attended to; he came out himself on more than one occasion to ensure that all of the problems were addressed. He replaced both thermostats with a different make, featuring wifi accessibility at no extra charge. The new thermostats work perfectly and the two A/C systems cool our entire home as designed. We are now totally pleased with the install.

It was a big job and there were continuing problems. Having said that, they stepped up and saw it through. No hidden costs or additional fees. Technicians and office staff were a pleasure to work with.

It went outstandingly. They were quick to come to our house, We called them in the evening and they were here first in the morning. They did a diagnostic and found out that a squirrel had gotten inside the out side unit and fried the entire unit. (The squirrel didn't make it) We went over all the options they had and selected a replacement. They also gave us a great discount for the unit. The next day they arrived in the morning, took the old unit out and replaced it with the new one. They also did an inspection of the other two units at no charge.

If this is the type of company Angie's list recommends, I will not be renewing this service. LPAC was very responsive prior to the purchase, even Wayne "the owner" called, telling me how great LPAC is. Since the unit has been installed, or I should say partially installed. Wayne did not call me back and a month later issue is still not resolved. After the unit was installed the tech said he forgot the filter and would bring it by the next day, here it is a month later and no filter. Would not be a big deal, but the filter size is not standard, I have to special order the filter. Rick the sales rep finally called and said he would take care of this, here it is a week has gone by and still no filter. LPAC if this is how you strive for customer satisfaction, go learn what just doing your job entails.

LPAC Services did install a new A/C System for the customer on September 8, 2016. Due to the size of the air handler stand, the filter that was initially provided to the installation crew would not fit and the office was not aware of such for a few weeks. Our Service Manager did call the customer and took a filter to the residence on 9/26/16 to personally address the situation with the customer. As an accommodation for the inconvenience, it was decided that a custom filter rack would be fabricated and provided to the customer at no charge, as well as a supply of 12 upgraded filters. Both the filter rack and the filters were outsourced to different vendors for production and it did take extra time to facilitate. Once all products were received , they were personally delivered by our Service Department Manager. On several occasions our owner did speak with the customer. On October 13, 2016, the customer confirmed he was completely satisfied with the air conditioning system, its installation and the filter system provided and that the matter had indeed been resolved. The customer further stated he planned on removing the negative review. Additional follow up to the customer to reconfirm his satisfaction was conducted on October 20th and customer indicated there are no further issues.

They have a regular maintenance service with us so they came in every six months and do maintenance. I think they weren't prompt in calling us to schedule our service and we had to call them to get them out. Now, they were very responsive to that, but in the process we had some damage from water. They should have been there to check it sooner.

System stopped cooling after third service call again. Called another company that fixed the problem for a third the cost. Also discovered that they had been overcharging for products and service for several years. Avoid at all costs.

Not impressed...I hired another company!
Description of Work: They were scheduled to come out to do a repair/replacement I was surprised that I got an appointment so quickly with the weather being so hot and the July 4th holiday. They called 10 mins before the appointment to change it to another time and I was thrilled they called as apposed to leaving me in the dust. The appointment was changed to the following morning and when they did not show, I called and was told they would be there in about 30 mins. They never showed so I called to cancel.

The company was phenomenal in all respects. They came out to our home in just a few hours They performed a diagnoses of the unit and found a squall had gotten into the outside unit and fried the electronics. Because the unit was 10 years old we choose to just replace it.. The price for the unit was great We were able to have it installed the next day. They were prompt, finishing the installation on time. The quality of work was great and the technicians were friendly and attentive. All in all a great experience.

$39 for an HVAC Service Call. The Technician came and serviced a/c unit. Flushed lines and left line dripping in attic. The line continued to leak until we saw the leak dripping thru our ceiling. Called the company to have the problem fixed and they refuse to have someone come and repair the drywall that the leak has destroyed. They could easily have sent someone to my home the next day to fix the problem but instead chose to leave me with this mess for a holiday weekend where I am entertaining guests. I would not use this company due again. I plan on having this damage fixed by them one way or another. They destroyed my property. If it was my company I would have called the owner of the home that you contracted to do business with and made it right! This company obviously does not fix their mistakes.

Dear Member, The circumstances surrounding your $39.00 "service call" of 3/24/16 were unfortunate, however not LPAC's fault or responsibility. We recognize that you recently acquired this property and that it may or may not have been occupied for a period of time, therefore you may not have been aware of this existing/deteriorating condition with the drain line. We performed our routine maintenance, noting recommendations related to your approximately 21 year old air conditioning system. When our technician left, everything was performing normally. We received the service call for the water leak and responded that evening at no charge to you. Upon arrival and finding the garage ceiling wet, our technician accompanied your husband to the attic and located the leak, caused by an unglued PVC fitting, located under insulation in the attic. The situation was photographed and explained to your husband. The repair of the PVC fitting in question was completed by our technician that same evening at no cost to you. The installation of the existing drain line was performed by another contractor. LPAC had never been to this property and in researching the public records, the last "permitted" work by a licensed A/C contractor at this property was in 1995.We recognize your frustration. While LPAC provided a courtesy repair at no cost to you, it is not responsible for part failures and/or workmanship by others.

When the technician came out, he notified us the air conditioner had to be replaced and that a full yearly maintenance could not fully be completed due to the fact that some elements were falling apart. Then the technician left without scheduling anything. I called to schedule an estimate for a new air conditioner and they sent the tech back out. He was thorough as we needed additional vent work too. He was also professional and nice. The price of the estimate for all the new work and equiptment was fair.

I hired this contractor from AL reviews. Call was taken promptly and technician arrived early next morning. Accurately diagnosed fan motor failure. Contacted Trane for warranty claim and Trane initially denied claim. After repeated calls back to Trane finally they conceded the motor was covered and that they (Trane) were mistaken. Wayne and his staff went the extra mile and expended approximately an hour of their time to get this result. Since it was a very expensive electronically controlled motor, this saved us a substantial amount. The owner personally telephoned to discuss the matter. Trane claimed they were given the wrong serial number but this was a lie since I personally verified they had the right information. It seems warranty claims are handled like insurance claims. First time with this hvac company and the ac now runs fine.

The repair men (Steven and his father) were excellent! Now about the service we got from the service/sales manager on our other air conditioner. We initially called because the air conditioner-heat pump in the new wing of the house had stopped heating. The service manager came out the same day we phoned, which was very impressive. He checked it and told us it had lost it's refrigerant. He found one fitting that seemed a little loose, so he said without doing a VERY expensive pressure test, he wasn't positive that was the problem. He also told us that if it leaked out again, they would have to do this pressure test to find the problem. He re filled the refrigerant ($353.80) and also convinced us to purchase a 2 year service contract for $179.00 because that would give us a discount on future problems plus they would come check both units twice a year. The unit he re-filled worked for less than a week. When the actual technicians who had done an excellent job on the attic unit were here they checked the one that had stopped working again (that unit is only 3 years old) and found exactly where the leak was. It was quite obvious as there was oily refrigerant at the connection of the dryer, located outside. I called the service mgr. again and told him what the problem HAD BEEN AND STILL WAS. He then came back to verify that the dryer was the actual problem and gave us a price of $694.09 less $138.81 ($555.28 total due to the service contract) to send the technicians to fix it CORRECTLY. I was VERY unhappy when I called him and told him he should have checked the dryer when he was here the FIRST time, because that actually is something that frequently caused refrigerant leaks. We learned this from an air con. tech we know who lives in St. Petersburg who told us that was the FIRST thing he checks. The LPAC service mgr. told me he did check it when he had come the first time, but it was a very windy day that day and his "equipment" just didn't work well in such windy weather. It would have been nice if he had come back on a NOT windy day to re-check it before it lost all the refrigerant he had put in it. He did lower the price and ended up agreeing to charge $500.00 which was a $50 reduction in the price since I was so unhappy. The actual technicians came and fixed it CORRECTLY and re-charged it with the necessary refrigerant AGAIN. SO, as you can see, I have VERY mixed feelings about even saying I would use this company again beyond the 2 year contract..
Description of Work: Replaced crushed portion of duct in attic on one 2 yr old air conditioner unit and cleaned the filter which a VERY BAD installer had completely covered with tape, making it impossible to even locate, let alone clean. Then they had to re-charge the unit with the refrigerant that they had removed and re-captured. The charge for that was just over $1,000.00.

They were okay. They had to get a part and it took a long time, maybe about a week, because it was an unusual part. It broke again after they fixed it. I ended up just having someone else fix it. I'm not sure if that was because of their error or just some weird thing that happened. I was not too happy with the people in the office. They didn't seem to be that responsive. When it went out the second time, they were just like, "Well, we'll see if we can get somebody out but it may not be today." So I just called somebody else. It was pricey to me. I ended up spending quite a bit of money.
Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal to get my air conditioning fixed. We paid more than the price of a Big Deal because I purchased a maintenance plan. The maintenance plan was a certain amount and then the labor for fixing it was a different amount.
