We searched for months on a workable and cost effective method for climate control in our garage. Original work went GREAT, had a new American Standard unit installed. Nice work, clean, prompt...all the right buttons! Subsequently we had a warranty issue and although the "fine print" said it wasn't 100% covered, they made it right. 100% RIGHT! The first motor he installed had a bad bearing. I watched him take it out of the box so I knew it was new. Cody was the man who installed it and Rick was the first one we saw. Cody had to get another motor and he came back the next day. The unit is working just fine. I know we will need a new unit in the next year or so and LPAC will be the first ones I call.

It went perfectly! The tech/salesperson at LPAC explained that this particular part shouldn't go bad so quickly, so LPAC picked up the replacement cost and the labor to replace the coil, saving me approximately $1200-1500.00.
Description of Work: I purchased a new A/C unit from LPAC a year and a half ago. Recently the coil on the air handler went out and needed replacing, but the unit was out of warranty by about 6 months.

The technician (Cody) arrived promptly and worked diligently. Afterwards he provided a full status of my system. The main office called as a follow-up to ensure all was to my satisfaction. I was delighted with the professionalism they demonstrated and will retain their services.

Work was satisfactorily performed. My AC is good for another year
Description of Work: This is an update of my previous "F" review. About 5:30 pm of the day the technician was suppose to have been there by 3pm, I received an apology call and an offer to reschedule. I was reluctant because of what had happened, but my previous experience with them made me think the missed appointment was an aberration. I rescheduled, the annual maintenance was promptly performed, and today I was contacted by a LPAC rep who was trying to figure out what happened initially, especially with their phone system. Bottom line, they were responsive to their mistake, and the work was performed satisfactorily after my initial problem. Try them, they'll do it right or make it right.

I wouldn't use LPAC HVAC in Bradenton. I think they were referred from people I bought the house from. So, I just called them. They wouldn't even call me back. I asked for the owner to call me back and Larry Pearson retired the lady said. I'm like then have whoever owns it now to call me because you didn't do it right.Then, I called the county. I'm a licensed electrical contractor by the way. So, then I called the county and they're like oh yeah well in 2012 they didn't need permits. I'm like what? I need a permit forever, what do you mean you didn't need a permit for an A/C installed in 2012? That's new to me, so oh well. They came out a couple of times. I paid for them to come out three times, I told them don't bother coming back the third time. The last time I told them to come out, clean the unit; this is what I told the lady, an older lady. I told them to come out clean the unit, don't cut my duct board and show my wife that there's mold in there. So, she decides to cut the hard can and duct board out and say you have mold.I said what house in Florida doesn't have mold to some degree? She didn't answer me. So, you know I just told her, just come out, clean it, do the drain pipe and check everything and see ya. Then they told me that I needed freon, that's the best part.So, I called my buddy at one of these jobs and asked could you do me a favor, could you come over to check my air conditioner and see what the freon level is? I said I'd hate to bother you; I'll give you some money, I really want to know. I was right they said I was 3 pounds low. I don't remember the price; I paid for three in advance, but that was above the house three years ago, or so. They come out in the truck; they came out when they were supposed to. I don't know what they could have done better. I 've been a licensed contractor for over 30 years. I said I would really appreciate a call from one business pro to another, they never called me back. Then they tried to sell me an air purification something and something else. They told my wife it was mold, she freaked, there's no five-second rule for her. I drop that pork chop, I'm picking it up and eat it, she drops a pork chop that things gone bye, bye. He told her it was mold, she was like see ya, she wanted to move out. I was like calm down! I wouldn't come to your house and cut your duct work out with my knife and then it's perfectly good. They cut a hole in about the size of a potato and brought over to my wife's as you have mold. How about just leaving it alone? They were there on time I think, my wife was there she didn't complain about it. They could've been a little late, I don't know. I don't think they were professional at all. It was a high-pressure sale and they cut my duct work, I'm still mad about it. In fact, they told me to call code enforcement. Maybe Larry retired then. The first time they came out the start compositor went bad on my compressor outside. So, I called them. I told them and told them I thought it was under warranty. Thank God I happened to be there. He replaced it. The first time it was good, I'm still mad at them, but I would give them B's after that it went down hill. He was reasonable, so them I paid for the next two or three visits to save time.

Called LPAC for service about 5:00pm and the direct LPAC person answering said she would contact their on-service technician. She called back within 5 minutes and said the technician Cory is on his way from about 10-15 miles away. Cory got to my house about 30 minutes later, diagnosed the problem and repaired my air unit immediately. I was absolutely amazed that calling for service so late in the day and on a holiday that I received service so quickly. Cory stood by to insure the unit was working properly. I would have rated A++ if possible for responsiveness and professionalism. Remember, this was late in the day on a holiday!!
Description of Work: My home air conditioner stopped around 4-5:00 pm on July 4th. Needed service man quickly as the temperature in the house was 86 degrees and climbing rapidly.

The fellow they had working for them was very nice and talented guy that did the work. Apparently, the boss had them over booked in some way where they were supposed to do the job in a day or two days full of work, but hey came out here for 2 to 3 hours each day period. They came late and left very early. It took them over a week to do that and then later didn?t finish things the way I had expected he was going to finish. It still hasn?t been inspected yet, but we are mid-way on that project. The workers were like an ?A? or a ?B?, the guys were great, but the owner was terrible. I guess, I would put a ?C? down for the whole project, I don?t know. He had them going to so many jobs, that I think they were spread too thin. They couldn?t do any more than 2 or 3 hours here, which was kind of crazy when you are going without air conditioning in Florida. They need to finish off a number of things. He was kind of high priced, I mean that?s a lot of money. As far as quality, they did great. They did the best job they could do and I thought they were knowledgeable. It?s hard to work up in a hot attic like that, especially when they get there it was the hottest time of the day, 12:00 noon. That?s what they did, it was terrible for them. I had a hard time to get the fellow to call me back. As a matter of fact, I?ve asked them for another quote to finish the job. He apparently doesn?t do it unless you pay him. It took him at least 4 days or 5 to get back to me on that quote. I?m not thrilled. Basically, his attitude was if it wasn?t written down on the contract, he wasn?t going to be doing any finish work on the project. Like putting up the gradings that you put up when you are covering the ducts into the ceilings, those types of things. My son had to verbally discuss with the other fellow that he would do it at some point down the road and whatever. That wasn?t on the contract either, so why was it left undone? It was just nit picking stuff. There was a cover that needed to be put over a pipe on the outside of the house. The workers said, ?oh, we will handle that, no problem!? Then they were told not to come back. Then the fellow called and said, ?that?s it?s not on the contract and we are not doing it!? Then he told me it would cost me an additional $400 for them to do that. It was a raw deal. So, I had someone else come out here that wasn?t on Angie?s List. Just some other fellow that?s a plumber that is going to fix it, because I?m over it. They were supposed to come at 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning and they didn?t show up until 12:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon every single day. I had people taking off from work to be home for them to come, so a lot of people, some of my children loss money from work. That would have been much better if he would have up front and honest with me and let me know what was going on. I would have had a better experience if that was the case, because we were rearranging our lives in order to do this and it was costing me $7,000. So, I was expecting to be treated a lot better than what I was. If there was a day where they had a problem and I could understand, but this was every single day and there was never any compensation given to me for their dragging it out and dragging my time out. I would have gotten someone else to do it if they weren?t able to. That wasn?t very professional, I would even lean towards an ?F? because that was totally unprofessional. That?s not how I treat my patients, I?m a nurse. It I was to tell the patient nothing and leave them laying there waiting for surgery for 6 hours, that would be pretty rude. Especially when they haven?t eaten anything all day. That?s how I treat my people.

Thank you for your input. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We are glad you were pleased with the quality of the work and the skills of the crew but we are not pleased with the length of time for completion nor the lack of follow up on modifications. As a clarification we do not book our crews for multiple jobs at once but rather one job at a time for completion and generally work the necessary extra hours and weekends to minimize a no air conditioning environment. Based on your input we reviewed our truck logs and had several discussions with the crew involved to identify the cause(s) for the delayed completion of the project. What we found were a number of stops and job pull outs to obtain materials and in one case a late arrival to the jobsite. This is not typical, efficient nor in accordance with our processes. We have coached the crew on improved processes going forward and are monitoring the progress. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are always interested in improving and maintaining our internal quality standards. We are hopeful you will give us another opportunity.

The job was completed, and it turns out it was a capacitor. This should take a trained tech 10 minutes to repair. When I got home, my wife told me the bill was $258! Well over the $150 I expected. I find $158 (not including the $100 arrival and diagnostic fee)to replace a capacitor ridiculous! The quality of the technicians at LPAC is all over the place. There are great ones, and there are bad ones. Use LPAC at your our risk.
Description of Work: This is my second review of LPAC. I have them on service contract, so every time I have a non-maintenance call, it costs me $100 minimum just to arrive at my house, and that includes the diagnostic fee. This seems a little high, but I am OK with that My AC compressor would kick on for a few minutes, the fan would not spin, and the compressor would shut down. This is a classic capacitor or fan problem. I would have taken care of it myself, but I had to go to work, and I figured it was going to cost around $150, with no parts cost, as my Trane unit is under warranty.

Thank you for your input. We utilize a recognized flat rate repair pricing service to help ensure our pricing is fair and competitive for the area. Our technicians price each repair according their pricing book which is based on an average cost and time to complete an associated repair. We follow the same process on every service call. We advise each customer before we come out of the $99 diagnostic fee which is charged to send a repair technician to determine the cause of the problem. Once the technician determines the cause of the problem they provide a repair estimate to the customer based on our pricing book. We do not proceed on doing any repairs unless the customer agrees to such and signs off on the service ticket. Based on our review of our documentation and discussion with the associated technician the above mentioned process was followed. We are pleased that the system is operating fine since the repair was completed.

First appointment he was late, didn't call and when I called they cancelled. Was late the second time and tried to convince me I should look into replacing my ac. After consulting with others and meeting with a supervisor they admitted that my ac was fine. A complete waste of money.

When they make an assessment that a system is in need of repairs or potential replacement, we will have a senior technician or supervisor follow up to ensure that a correct diagnosis is made. We did send our Service Manager out to do a complete review at no charge and provided the updated diagnosis. While the system is old, it is operating well. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and we did offer to provide a complimentary maintenance. Unfortunately, we do have occasions (which we try to minimize) where there are significant "no cool" emergency calls which force us to delay or move some of our maintenance customers so we can quickly handle customers who have no air conditioning and our office does it best to explain such.

The price was right. However, the techs are not a thorough as Custom Air. They were OK. So, I got my AC maintenance today, and the tech was excellent. So, the issue for LPAC is they are variable. Also, the tech told me NOT to put chlorine in the water drain line. This can cause issues with the radiator, which is near the drain. Chlorine interacts with aluminum, and can cause leaks! Yikes! I am required to put a will hire again, and I said yes. However, I am on the fence. I will see when the maintenance plan ends.
