Everything went beyond my expectations.
Description of Work: Service Tech Guy Norman was performing a maintenance next door and I being a new resident in this town went over to see what kind of company we had here. Well I found this gentleman to be most knowledgeable and friendly. I then went about my day and next thing I know he came over and said "let me take a look at your AC system". I had recently had a company in that left me an uneasy feeling about their abilities. Well Mr. Norman did a check on my system and found issues the other guy never even looked at. He tweeked my system up left me with a business card and now he has a new customer. I could not be happier. Thanks LPAC.

They call the day after I used the Angieslist coupon. Scheduled them for the next day. Tech showed up on time (early start for them). Show me within 15 minutes the problems I had. Mis-matched units -- It was running at 30-40 % eff -- unit was old also. Had him quote me a completely new unit - inside and out. I had bought previous installations at previous homes, so I knew what the price should be - close anyway. The tech did the pricing and they came the next day and did the install. All went well - took all day. Removed old units (inside and out) we had cold air before they left. Took a trip back, as there was a problem with the door on the air handler - got it fixed. now for the inspection. Overall pleased -- we installed an American Standard (Trane) unit -- rated top. SEER16 -- 3 weeks now runs great

Rick arrived at the time promised, he gave me an overview of the services he would be doing. He was very professional and kept me informed of his progress. He took extra care to ensure that he didn't track in any dirt. I also asked for estimates on moving a thermostat and redirecting airflow to the front bedroom. Rick was able to provide me with the estimates and explain what work would need to be done. Also the support staff at the office were very customer focused and thorough. I will definitely be calling LPAC for any of my future AC service and maintenance needs. I will gladly recommend them to friends and anyone else.
Description of Work: The work to be performed was an annual inspection and tune-up of 2 AC units.

They were fantastic! They sent a technician out the day (Friday) after I called to estimate the repair. He found that some of my ducts had huge holes in them and one had fallen of the connection. That meant that I was cooling the space underneath my house, instead of the inside! He made our job a priority, so we got bumped up the service list. By 2 pm Monday, he had everything back in working order. They are a very professional and trustworthy group. Low pressure and friendly, you can't beat that! The lady in the office even knew what was going on with our job, which made it very easy when I called back to confirm the quote.

guy, the service tech, had been keeping an eye on this part in previous regularly schedule visits and determined that it had reached it useful life at this maintenance. had he not been watchful and attentive to detail , i am sure by the look of the rusted out part that i saw, i would have been without AC service shortly in this heat of august. after years now of LPAC as my AC contracted service providor, this is the excellent type of service i expect and recieve from Larry Pearson's service tech support group consistently and professionally. any service tech that has serviced my AC unit has been clean, respectful, professional in appearance, nature and very knowledgable about my Unit and how to maintain it. each service done to my ac unit, from the detailed office support staff tracking appointmenst, etc, down to the actual service is accurately and professionally handled by LPAC personnel. i highly recomend LPAC.
Description of Work: repaired an essential part of my outside ac unit that was rusted and in need of replacement. this was done during my regular contractual biyearly maintenance check up.

I found them very satisfactory and their service man did not seem like he was trying to sell me something. He said I could leave my filter in for another 6 months; so I appreciate them not trying to sell me one until the recommended time. Their pricing seemed reasonable.

Our air conditioner was over 15 years old and had been giving us problems for a bit on and off. Honestly, it had seen better days. It was originally installed by LPAC in 1985 and they had done a great job then and had done all they could to keep it running. We had several service calls out to them for it and they had responded quickly and professionally each time. After trying several solutions, the compressor finally just gave out. Apparently, it had lived out its lifetime as a machine and decided it was time to move on. LPAC offered us great rates on a new install and also discounted us for money that was spent trying to make the old system function. The new install took place over the course of just one day. Josh was the lead installer and he was incredibly professional and personable. He answered every question we had and went the extra mile to make sure the new system was installed with love and utmost care. The new system is in place and running great. The new thermostat has a scheduling option so that we can set the temperature based on time of day so we rarely even have to touch it unless the weather changes a lot. We are looking forward to seeing the next power bill since the new system is energy efficient and cools the house much better than the old one. We highly recommend LPAC for your heating and cooling needs. They have never once failed to be professional or work with us to provide excellent service.
Description of Work: LPAC replaced our air conditioning / heating unit. This included removing the old unit and air handler and replacing it with a new one and installing a new thermostat. They also checked the air ducts and other related equipment to see what condition they were in.

This is the letter I wrote on January 31, 2012, following the installation of our new HVAC system: Dear Larry and all concerned, Pat Horn has just left our house after double checking the installation of our new York AC system. We could not be happier the way everything was handled, from the minute Pat walked in to check our old system, to the last detail of blowing in insulation over our lanai to complete the job, just minutes before Pat arrived for the final check. The system is so quiet that we don't even know when it comes on and goes off and it is keeping our temperature in the house at the constant temperature we want, without any blast of air anywhere when it goes on! When I think of the years that we might have had this and didn't, I am happy those years are now past! We cannot say enough good things about all the people who were involved in this installation, from Pat, to Carol and Rosie in the office, to all those men who actually did the work of installation. They answered every question we asked clearly so that we would understand. At our age, that was so important. We thank all of you again and will certainly pass on our feelings to anyone who needs new air conditioning!

The company that originally installed my unit could not find the problem with my A/C. LPAC came out and quickly diagnosed two problems. They repaired the first problem trying to save me some money, but had to make both repairs. The guys were outstanding and my unit is running great!

outstanding performance in every way. we were so impressed that we immediately dropped our current provider (one thatwe've had for many years) and set up a yearly contract with them. Very professional employees--wore booties soas not to damage the carpet, found a major problem and advised us that while they could fix it that we should contact our previous provider because they should pay for it (and they did!), and would not accept a tip. never had suchextraordinary service!

I responded to an ad for air duct cleaning and the company (Air American, Inc.) came to my home and the first thing they did was remove the cover to the air handler on the a/c unit. I had stepped inside and they immediately knocked on the door from the garage and told me I had mold and it was on the fan and most probably was in every vent in my house. They showed me a swab stick they said they used to check for the mold. They quoted me a price of $1350 to clean up the mold and would not clean the vents without performing the service. I decide to get another opinion and they left upset. My husband was directed to call Larry Pearson by a friend of his at Manatee County and I am so glad we called them. They came out promptly and you guessed it...NO MOLD ANYWHERE! We discovered the first company operates under many names and uses the vent cleaning ads as a come-on. Please be extremely careful and if you suspect or you are told that you have mold, have this company check it out or better yet CALL THEM FIRST as they do duct cleaning also and will tell you whether you even need the service. What a lesson I learned.. I could have been $1350 poorer!

He never suggested a maintenance agreement, which is what I wanted. His cost of service seemed very high for a working system.
Description of Work: I was interested in a maintenance agreement, but as it turns out I just got a one time service of my system. He said he made some repairs and added freon.

The technician that diagnosed my problem was very professional and informative. After spending time thoroughly checking my system and crawling through my hot attic, he outlined the problems with my old system. After that he checked to make sure there wasn't any remaining warranty on my system he gave me an estimate to fix it along with a quote to replace it. After reviewing all of the information it just didn't make sense to waste any more money repairing our old AC. He showed us how much electricity we could save and all of the rebates. We decided to go ahead with the recommended high efficiency system and replace all of the old ducts in our attic. The next day the instal crew arrived on time and started right away. This was a big job and it took two days. The workers were very courteous and cleaned up nicely when the job was done. I am very pleased with the finished product and it's performance. After dealing with these caring and professional people, I would recommend LPAC to anyone and I will always be a customer!

They have a very knowledgeable man that we always ask for. It was very satisfactory. They didn't try to sell me more than I needed. They suggested that the next time they came that they'd have to replace the ultraviolet light and the filter. This time though, they didn't feel that it wasn't needed yet.

Service tech was informative, friendly, and professional. He performed well over expectations and cleaned up afterwards. Excellent job! The tech had a wireless duct camera so I could actually see inside my unit on the roof!
Description of Work: During HVAC maintenance, tech found growth in unit and installed a U/V light. He also installed a U/V system at another property I own to deter mold, virus, and allergens.

see above. I have to say that overall they are not trust worthy and could be out of business tomorrow.
Description of Work: We originally started using their services when we needed our equipment checked out for problems. They fixed that problem fine. Then we needed our equipment replaced, so I called to get a quote. It was a different company but same phone number. We used the new company to get the equipment replaced. After 1 year the equipment broke down and we called, to avoid huge charges they sold us a service plan. When I next needed to schedule a service check up they were once again LPAC. They of course would not honor the service plan that the previous company but the same phone number had sold us. We had to pay even more money and we continue to have problems with the equipment that they installled. I would not recommend them to even my enemies.

To other Angie’s List members, please be assured that we have done everything in our power to satisfy this member. Larry Pearson Air Conditioning and Heating Incorporated did not install her unit, or sell her any contracts whatsoever. This was reflected in her own words in her review. As she stated in her review, the company was sold August 31, 2007 to Rainmaker LLC. In January 2009, Rainmaker LLC sold the Company to Totally Cool LLC, which went bankrupt. Larry Pearson got the company back on November 20, 2009 after Totally Cool’s abandonment of the building. It was made perfectly clear to all customers that purchased maintenance contracts or had labor warranties through these bankrupt and nonexistent companies, that it was up to the owners of Rainmaker LLC and Totally Cool LLC to honor these agreements.
