1st visit went well but EAC unit would not start up. Technician measured HVAC filter space & ordered new filter but when he came to install it it was not the correct dimensions. Finally brought out the correctly sized one & service was complete.

I found LPAC on Angie's List and decided to give them a try due to their excellent rating and reviews. From start to finish I had an exceptional experience with this company. The company provided a courtesy call to remind me of the appointment, which is always helpful! Guy was the technician assigned to my home and he was professional and informative. He was able to give me a few pointers on how to keep the unit in tip-top-shape between service calls. Guy did offer to sell me several improvements for my system but it was not a hard sell, rather informative as to what they can offer to enhance the units efficiency. I declined the improvements for the time being but will consider them in the future. I signed a contract for annual service with this company on the spot because I was pleased with their professionalism and good service.

WE ADDED AC TO THE BALCONY -SUPPLY - AND A RETURN IN MASTER BEDROOM. NO NO NO..... First thing out of the guy's mouth.. how much is your electric bill...? I could see where this was going. Yep, short story.. he said we needed a new AC... that the unit we had installed in 2005 was too big for our house and that it needed to be replaced. he said it would be approx $6000-$8000.. well, let me tell you, my father worked for TRANE for 42 yrs and my mother worked for another AC/heating distributor, I learned a thing or two about AC over the years... this was a SALES PITCH...I let the guy know my husband was a cop and ..gee... suddenly, the price dropped to $5500 and they could offer us free financing.. Fortunately, I caught on that this was a sales tactic and was spared the agony... but what about the elderly.. this tactic is downright crimal!!!!

The install team did an excellent job. The work was completed in a clean and professional manner. A few days after the install I noticed a high pitched electric frequency noise coming from the air handler. I called LPAC to report the problem and their tech Joe responded to troubleshoot. Joe determined on the first visit that the noise was coming from the motor. Joe returned for a second visit to install a new motor. This did not fix the problem even though Joe and I believed the problem was still a motor issue. Carol at LPAC and Joe proceed to get the distributor and the American Standard rep. involved. After two more visits with the distributor and rep. it was determined that the issue needed to be addressed by American Standard labs in Texas. After a couple weeks Joe and the American Standard rep. returned and installed another new motor. This motor was manufactured for American Standard by a company other than the original. Guess what, Joe and I were correct the motor was at fault. I should mention we were not with out heat or cooling during this process. Everyone, at Larry Pearson Air Conditioning has proved to me, I made the right choice by giving them my business.

The company called me as soon as I purchased the online deal for maintenance/tuneup. They were very easy to schedule with and Pat showed up right on time. Our a/c had not had any work on it in years due to a bad experience with another company. He cleaned it out and had to replace a piece in the back to do bad work by the earlier company. We were not surprised by his findings and he did it quickly, and I thought, economically. He explained how the unit worked and gave an overview of the entire system. He also helped with a vapor screen that was missing. We are very happy with the service and signed up for their annual maintenance plan. So glad to have found them after numerous previous bad experiences with other companies.

Turns out that we have an 18 year old heat pump that does need to be replaced. Although it felt like a bit of a bait and switch in the beginning which caused me to originally write a much harsher review, the owner came out with two techs offering to do whatever it took to make me happy without charging me. They took the time to thoroughly explain the condition of the heat pump and what could and could and couldn't be done without doing damage to the unit. In my mind the mark of any company you choose to work with is how well they handle difficult situations. I was not happy after the first technician came in and said that I needed a $5,000 repair only to have a different company fix it for $100. Larry Pearson (the owner) was very concerned that we were happy and in my mind went beyond the call of duty to insure customer satisfaction. He is very concerned about his reputation in the industry and as it turns out Larry and his techs were correct in their recommendations. He runs an honorable company. I recommend his company.
Description of Work: I purchased a $55 cleaning service from these folks. My furnace was not working at the time I ordered the cleaning. I knew the furnace needed cleaning so I bought the $55 cleaning special fully expecting to get the cleaning plus some additional repairs that I would have to pay separate for. When the person arrived, the did a superficial look at the furnace and determined that it needed to be replaced. They did not do the cleaning. Much to my surprise, I received a phone call saying that I had purchased the cleaning and not used it yet. They came back out to do the cleaning. The person told me that the furnace was very dirty and moldy and that the $55 charge would not cover the cleaning that was required. They went on to again tell me that the furnace was very old and that rather than cleaning it, I should replace it.

The regular guy was apparently held up so they sent a couple amateurs. They came three times and caused unbelievable grief. The first two times it still didn?t pass inspection so I had to have them come back. The delay caused all kinds of grief for the family and did not allow us to move in to the house on time. The third time it finally passed inspection.

Dear Member, More and more people shop on-line. It makes it difficult sometimes to explain to customers about the costs of doing business. Things such as building rent, utilities payroll taxes, truck leases, the cost of fuel, required workers comp. insurance, required liability insurance, office supplies, advertising, licenses, payroll fees, employee uniforms, 50/50 health insurance for employees, employee bonuses, postage, building repairs and maintenance, telephone bills, cell phone bills, and that’s just off the top of my head. Why consumers aren’t willing to recognize what all there is to be in business is really not fair. On-line vendors seldom offer any “enforceable” warranties, if any. They usually have no ability to service or install what they sell. Customers demand service after the sale and that’s what LPAC has always done and always will do. At the end of the day I truly understand why customers feel the way they do about on-line pricing. It’s simple, they have never been in the A/C business and they don’t know what overhead costs are. LPAC quoted me on a new AC system about 4 years ago. This plan came with a 10 year warranty from the dealer. 2 years later, part of the venting colapses on itself & they tell me I have to pay. I remind them of the warranty & they have the audacity to tell me that they are not the same company they were when I got my system installed, even though it was known as LPAC then & LPAC now. Different tax ID number allows them to cheat their customers legally. Larry Pearson has had his named attached to this company all along. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!

Fact: You state in your comments “venting collapses on itself”. Your contract with Rainmaker, LLC did not include any venting. Fact: My corporation is not responsible for the work that you contracted with Rainmaker, LLC D/B/A Larry Pearson Air Conditioning. I did not own it at the time of your contract. Fact: I got the trade name back that I originally sold to Rainmaker, LLC in November, 2009. Fact: You were offered service since then and you agreed to have it done. So we did it. You never complained about any of the service my company did after I took back the trade name Larry Pearson Air Conditioning. Most of these facts are public record. The rest are in your file. The fact that you don’t understand the way corporations and D/B/A’s work is the problem. My company has made every attempt to document to you and explain to you these facts. For some reason you simply ignore. I never cheated anyone in my life and never will. What have things come to when a person can make comments like yours, devoid of fact? You don’t know me and you don’t know my company. What your opinion suggests is that I take responsibility for the other company’s contract. There are no moral or legal grounds for that. Overall, the installation went very well.
Description of Work: We called LPAC to give us an evaluation of our air conditioning system. Pat Horn came and checked out our air conditioning and recommended that due to the age and condition of the system that we replace it. He was very informative regarding our different options and we decided to go with an American Standard. The installers arrived on time and were very professional. They had to work in a very confined space and were very neat. The crane operator arrived 15 minutes after the installers and lifted the compressor to the roof without any problem. The installation went very smoothly. Two days later they installed new circuits in the electrical panel. We are very satisfied with their workmanship and would recommend them.

Description of Work: Guy Norman came out to check our AC (1 year check-up). He was going to be about 15 minutes late, but he called to inform us of that. He was VERY knowledgeable, very presentable, very understandable and found a part that he was sure would fail before the summer heat. AC quit. They came right out. Fix was simple and they didn't try to make it complicated. Repairman was wonderful. I had an Angie's List coupon for a free service call, so the total cost was ZERO! I WILL be having them out next spring, ans probably every spring, for a system tune-up.
