The "tech" came and did an excellent job of checking our system and servicing it. He made some recommendations that we intend to follow between now and early next year and overall it was a very good experience.
Description of Work: They did a routine service that included a service contract that extends into 2016 as well as replacing and providing perfect fit AC filters. These filters last up to a year and cost around $50 or more each which is why the cost of service was as high as it was.

When I called this company, a real person answered the phone, scheduled an appointment for a technician to come to our house to assess the need for the UV light and discuss the other issues. The appointment was within a few days, the tech was on time, prepared, and discussed our needs for the UV light. We elected to have one installed and he was able to do it that day. He fixed loose wires in our AC unit we weren't aware of and will return in October to have the vent sealed and to contain wires in the AC unit in a conduit and seal areas that are open now. We had been in contact with at least two other AC companies who did not return phone calls so our experience with Larry Pearson Air Conditioning was a welcome change.
Description of Work: Installed a UV light in my AC unit. Will be sealing off an AC vent to my lanai and fixing wiring issues in my AC unit in October

Provider showed up on time, explain everything he did and even provided some recommendations. He wasn't pushy with the other products his company provides, which I liked a lot.

.Gave us deal on both units although they were only obligated to do it on one. It was easy to schedule appointment, and the technician arrived on time and did the work. Like all of these contractors they do try to sell you on adding options to your system, but he was not pushy about it and did not try to get you to make a decision on the spot.. He just left information and pricing options for us to look at and discuss.

Jim was the initial tech who first came out. He is extremely knowledgable and very nice. He went through many different options with me and came back on multiple occasions to re evaluate and answer my questions. The installers were also nice and cleaned up nicely

They took a lot of time to explain the issues, no pressure at all to go with their recommended fixes. I'm a fairly skeptical person but it made sense to follow their recommendations and the pricing they charged seemed fair for what was done. I had just moved into this house a few months before and the inspector had pointed out the return air issue at that time.
Description of Work: Installed a new filter grille and filter on the original ceiling air return (the original installer had put in a jury rigged filter that wasn't properly filtering the return air to the furnace). Also needed to replace a capacitor and disconnect switch that was testing poorly.

They just came out and did an air conditioning check. The service was okay but I wanted a price on a new air conditioning system and the guy wouldn't give it to me. He said that unless I committed to it, he didn't want to take the time to give me a quote. That was really strange because the next day I went and another guy gave me what I wanted and I bought one He just said it would take him a couple of hours to work it out and it was too much work to do. That was really the only thing so I told him, "Okay goodbye." I just bought a new system from another company and it's all because they gave me a quote and I bought it on the spot. They came out probably in the middle of May, probably 15th. They had a special, for $29 they would come and check your air conditioning system and I paid them $29 and they came and checked everything. I knew my system was old and I just bought this place so I wanted a professional's opinion. They gave me their opinion and they said it needed to be replaced but I was disappointed because I wanted a quote but the guy just didn't want to bother with it. If I was going to buy it right there, I would say I need a quote first. I am not going to buy it from you if I don't know how much it's going to be. He said it was just too much work and I said, "Okay, goodbye." They put those specials so they can come and do some cheap inspection and I was a prime candidate. The guys I ended up using did a great job. They did the work they said they would do but they didn't help me with what I wanted. In less then 24 hours later I got another contractor and they had the same equipment, the same everything that the Pearson had. The Pearson guy just didn't take that extra step. I probably would have bought it from them if the guy had taken the time to give me the quote. I wasn't going to argue with him. Their price was fine. That was a very good price to check out the system. for what he did, that was fine. They were prompt. The lady in the office was really nice. In fact they were going to be a little late so she called me and told me they were running about an hour late and I appreciated that so everything went great until I wanted the price. They were on time, they did exactly what they said they were going to do and everything was fine. It was just a strange, strange deal. I thought that was very unprofessional because he kind of argued with me. I was the customer and he just wouldn't give me what I wanted. His attitude came across that way of, "I just don't have time for this." What he said would take him a couple of hours, the next guy who came took about 20 minutes to determine the size of the air conditioner and the stuff I needed. It didn't take him a few hours. Within two hours we had a contract fine in everything. I read their reviews after my incidence and there was a couple of reviews that are just like mine. Some people were not happy and they mentioned him by name so I think it's just an issue with this one person that works for Pearson.

Sean originally came out to just do a maintenance check on our current system through a special price through Angie's list. Even though our system is 13 years old, and not near as effecient as a new one would be, he said that everything looked good and didn't really need replaced yet. Because we knew we would be replacing it in the near future, and after talking with him, we decided to go with a new system. Never did he pressure us into buying a new system, or tell us things that were wrong with ours. It is very hard to find honest business people these days. We were the ones who asked for an estimate. He did not force us into anything. How refreshing that is. Two people came out the very next day to install the unit. They were both very professional, courteous, and cleaned up when they were done. So far, everything is running smoothly. They also made us feel that if we had any questions at all to not hesitate to call. I did have one question for Sean-called him on his cell phone-he answered the phone and answered my question. Too often, these servicemen let their phone go to voicemail and then take forever to return your call. I also find this very professional. I would not hesitate to call them in the future, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for the services they provide.

Rich arrived on time and was very courteous. He performed the routine maintenance check on our HVAC system. He then checked our air ducts and told us that we did not need to have them cleaned. I was disappointed as our house is dusty and thought this would be the answer to our problem. However he saved us a lot of money and certainly appreciated his honesty.

Replaced the central air conditioner system and replaced the platform the air handler sets on. Very professional and quality workmanship in all aspects. The installers arrived on time and spent most of the day performing the replacement. Communication with the company before, during and after the installation was excellent. The installers did not take away the old concrete platform the day of the installation. The next day, I called the office to report that the platform had not been taken away, and LPAC removed it the same day.

All went great they called me up to schedule a appointment. They arrived on time, actually called stating how close they were before arriving. Very professional my technician was very knowledgeable and very professional. He went in the attic and check out the air handler, actually removed a filter for me. He then came down and cleaned the outside airconditioner and mentioned if I wanted to cover the airconditioner they could put a cover on or I could just get some chicken wire and do it myself. He wasn't out to sell me anything. If I have any problems I will call them first. He actually adjusted something for me for a better flow of the air.
Description of Work: I had a special coupon, they checked my air handler in the attic and the air conditioner out side.

Larry Pearson Air Conditioning used ?Angies list? to provided a coupon to its customers, a $29 AC tune up. I purchased the coupon and scheduled 3 months later for routine 6 month service. I have 2 A/C systems so granted the cost was than doubled once they arrive to service the system. $58.00, No problem makes sense. From there it goes south. Told tech i only wanted the maximum freon that the coupon ?included? which he agreed was 1 lb per unit. He charged me for 3.5 lbs or approx. $90 more than the coupon provided. 2) He provided me with a quote to replace one fan motor, contact, and one dual capacitor approx. $560. I declined. 3) i asked him how the filters looked in the 2 A/C air handlers in garage and he said they looked fine no problem. Because i didnt feel good about the service call and charges i than called ?Cool Today? because of their reputation on Google reviews (not Angies list). 1 week after Larry Pearson?s service call, and After testing system, the tech from ?Cool Today? did a No charge inspection of all systems, than showed me the results. 1) One of the A/c condensers was overfilled on freon approx. 2 lbs. (therefore LPAC overcharged) 2) The fan motor and contact were tested for amps/voltage and operation of both was fine. The dual capacitor was bad, so they replaced it at $149. (I saved $300 over LPAC total charges) 3) The filters were removed from AC air handlers by Cool Today which he showed me, both were completely black. Everything Cool Today did was perfectly explained, fair, and trustworthy. Everything LPAC did or did not do was incorrect, and frankly dishonest. Learn from our mistakes and do not trust Angies list to provide an ?incentivized? coupon from vendors as being a recommended contractor. Use other sources like Cool Today- Sarasota, who are being reviewed independently of what others are paying Angies list to provide coupons/services. Kevin Bradenton, FL

Our technician was under the impression that the prior service provider had missed the system issues on a previous visit, that you were dissatisfied with them and were going to contact them. Perhaps that is the company your mention that did the repairs? We apologize for any actual wrong doing by LPAC, if it occurred. Had you simply called our office, we would have welcomed the chance to make any adjustments that were necessary. Dozens of Angie's List users agree that LPAC is pretty darn good! The estimator worked up a price for replacement of all components including the duct work. My gut feeling is that they are on the expensive end of the price spectrum, but I could be wrong. I did not get competing offers based on the glowing Angie's List evaluations of LPAC. I was pleased with their quality of workmanship and professionalism and am confident that I made a good choice. In sum, a class operation :)

technician was nice, polite and on time and this was Sunday. a power outage had kicked off the breaker for the fan motor and as there were two other breakers for the unit, I missed that one. I was happy to pay the $110.00 service charge for the 10 or so minutes it took to repair. I pointed out that one of the connectors to the capacitor was partially burned (still working) and asked if the tech had a connector. He said he did but would have to charge if he put it on. I agreed thinking how much could a connector be ($.25 at home depot). imagine my surprise to be charged $189.00 for that part. When I called on Monday morning and spoke to Carol, the office manager and expressed my dismay about the inflated charge, I was told that was the way it was, and there would be no conversation about it. When I said I would have to find another company in the future, it did not seem to matter to Carol, I guess that this company already has too many customers and does not need more
