Three guys worked diligently but needed a lot of direction, seemed not to know much about trees, had no suggestions to make or observations about what was needed. Cleaned up debris, hauled most of it away that day but some was left to be picked up by another truck two days later. My impression was that their experience was mostly mowing lawns, not landscaping as I would define it. De-mossing oak tree was not done completely, did not use a tall ladder so mostly worked on what could be reached from the ground or by standing on one of the big mowers. I was glad to get a lot of heavy pruning done however so I consider it a good deal, since it included removal as well. Next time I think I would look for someone with more tree experience, maybe an arborist even.

I’ve been using them almost a year. They’re easy to deal with, and I like supporting a local, woman-owned business. The yard looks good.

She was fantastic, came and took her time, gave us a thorough estimate and a design. I will be using her as time permits. I called a couple other companies that were not helpful. She was fabulous. She also had great ideas and was very knowledgeable.

After reading Melanie's rude and unprofessional comment in response to my honest and detailed review, I decided to update my original review! She & her crew not only lied and did a horrible job with my landscaping that would not be called decent much less "professional", they also insult "the customer" as you see below, she calls me "crazy" making a personal attack in a strictly business-related situation. I didn't make it a personal business insulting her personally. I just commented on their service. So, you can judge these people by the way that show themselves in their own words. I don't believe that paying good money for a very small yard with straight forward landscaping while receiving service that lacks punctuality, reliability, proper care of the mowing equipment so they don't bald patches their large and heavy lawn mower turns because they are speeding thru your lawn, dragging the cut grass onto your driveway and leaving all kinds of grass and dirt marks which they don't clean up and leave for you to clean up, missing on every aspect of the job every week because they think that cutting the grass is the only thing you care about and the rest of their tasks can be forgotten, would define me as "crazy". They forgot to remove yellow or dry plant leaves regularly. They would skip spraying the weeds and hardly ever would pull the ones that needed to be pulled unless I personally stepped out and reminded them and bent down to do it with them. Well, suffice it to say, they missed something major every time. I had to call her every week to point out the part or task they missed and send her pictures. Every time, she would make an excuse or dismiss my complaints, arguing but finally would say that she would remind her crew, which also included her husband but she never did. When they would come next time and I would see that they are missing or skipping the same things as the week before, I would step out and ask them if Melanie had told reminded about such and such being missed the prior week and reminded them not to miss it this week, they would say that Melanie didn't tell them anything! So, I got a lot of lip service which mounted to nothing but not any good landscape maintenance service!. After two months of poor and unacceptable service, she announced to me that that would be their last month of service at my house. Since I wasn't happy with them anyways, I didn't ask her "why". When their crew including her husband showed up that week, I was outside so I got to chat with them a bit and her husband said that Melanie decided to end their service based on their work routes and the amount of gas consumption for travel and it wasn't anything personal! He said that their business had grown more in other areas of the city so it was a stretch for them to service my lawn. How rude and unprofessional but it didn't surprise me at all. It fit their profile and performance up to that point. I didn't really respond to him but my intuition told me that he wasn't being hones with me, giving me lip service and saving face! I was sure that she had discontinued their service because she got tired of me pointing out all the things that they consistently missed or skipped every week. So, instead of correcting their shortcomings and providing good service, they just lied and moved on. I have been seeing them regularly with at least 2 of their trucks/trailers/crews around Greenbrook Village part of Lakewood Ranch where we live. They themselves live in this part of Lakewood Ranch so they couldn't provide reliable and satisfactory service in their own neighborhood. She was going to charge me $600 to remove 2 small Eureka palms inside of my lanai only on top, leaving their roots in place. They were supposed to come every Wednesday but they ended up not showing up or coming the next day or not even on Friday at times which then they completely skipped service for a week and come the following week, this is during the only 2 month in Summer I had them. If they can't keep on time and regular in only 2 weeks, how do you think they will perform over long term? They didn't fulfill the commitment and promises they made and they lied very easily to my face and as you see, she has insulted my intelligence in her so called "professional response" to my review. In my book, these traits make a service provider extremely "unprofessional" and "antisocial".

I hired Emerald Green for lawn mowing service. They are out weekly/biweekly depending on the season. They do a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I couldn't be happier. Everything turned out wonderful! I don't think we could have gotten anything nicer for cheaper. They worked even through bad weather. In fact, it was so good that one of our neighbors hired them for landscaping and that's beautiful as well.

Their initial response was quick, and their quote was fair. They worked with our schedule and arrived as promised. They arrived on time, worked promptly, and cleaned up once they were done. This job may have been smaller than what they normally do, but we appreciate that they were able to help us out. We'll definitely be using them again with any bigger projects. We highly recommend them.

We will continue to use Emerald Green because we trust they will continue to do a good job and provide what we request. It is hard to find contractors or other home service people that we can trust will do a good job and respect our property while doing the service. Emerald Green has shown they can be trusted to do a very good job.

Not very well, they did not pay attention to details, I had weeds taller than my plants. I erected curbing around my flower beds ask their advise on filling the bed, I got bad advise and when it rained the beds flooded. I hired another company and they solved my problem.

We had to postpone due to family issues, and they were very patient and available when we were able to continue. Did a great job. We are hiring them to complete more work.

I did get a quick sketch of a couple of planting areas. But for $50 (and especially a $150 landscape design) I was very disappointed with the simple drawing I received. I was expecting a more detailed landscape design and even discussed with the owner prior to buying the special about a complete design. Which I was assured it would be if that is what I wanted. I even gave her a drawing I did in five minutes that showed a three phase project and other then what could be done right now, the rest was not shown. I wrote her after receiving her sketch and proposal to do the work about the lack of a good drawing and her response was I must not have opened the attachment. I let it drop after that as it was getting to be time consuming. What she did lay out as far as plants was what we talked about and the pricing seemed fair but any work is yet to be decided on.

It’s good service. They respond to any requests that I make. Everything has turned out very well. Their prices are reasonable. It varies on how often they come out. I would recommend them.

They were great! The workers were wonderful. They did exactly what we wanted them to do. Everything went smooth.

Provider was very professional and prompt. She was timely in her estimate which was detailed and specific. It was also reflective and accurate to the discussion during the estimate. I decided not to go with this company purely based on cost. I feel that the estimate was slightly high but fair. I did not have the work done by another company.

They were prompt and worked very efficiently. They removed some of the old stones and shells and placed red mulch over it. The plants they brought were very healthy looking and just what Melanie and I decided upon. They work was done very quickly and the clean-up was through. They did leave tire marks in my driveway and the weight of the truck collapsed part of it just a little, however Melanie (the owner) was the one who actually pointed it out and offered to pay for the repair. I had other work done to my house and used businesses recommended by Melanie. All of the names of the people she gave me were excellent! They also went to another house of mine and cleaned up the yard. It was horrifically over-grown and they made it look like a new house. I would recommend this company to anyone. They are up-front, hardworking and honest. That is a difficult combination to find these days.

They have been very nice. They haven’t finished yet so we don’t know the end cost. The quality looks good so far.

The cost was about $2,000 for the mulching and landscaping. I feel the price is fair. I like the personnel. They are very friendly and attentive, but at the same time professional. We have been utilizing their services since November 2012.

big crew. they could not located existing irrigation system. Not all their fault. Said they would remove existing grass but only sprayed it and now it is coming through the mulch. Plant knowledge was a little weak. Easy to deal with.

We are completely disappointed and feel that we paid $49 to Angies list for a consultation and design we never received. After Melanie's "sales pitch" we called a couple other local landscape companies. Each one responded quickly telling us this is the slow time of the year for them. Each came to our home for FREE, walked the yard, could easily name plants, provide "better" suggestions and we received a design, suggested plants and a price tag for the complete job, not just an estimate for the initial clean up. The other companies did all this for FREE not a $49 charge like we paid to Angie's List! We emailed Melanie at Emerald Green of Bradenton, told her we were not interested in their clean up and stated the reasons for our disappointment. We respectfully requested a refund. Melanie emailed us back saying that she told us she would hand draw a design following the clean up and that we we had agreed. Neither of us remember this conversation and although that may have been Melanie's intent, it was never brought up or agreed. In our opinion, we only received a sales pitch and not a consultation. Although Melanie is very pleasant, she proved herself not to be knowledgeable about plants and landscape offering no ideas and unable to name a variety of plants. We certainly did not feel like we were working with someone interested in redesigning our landscape. In Melanie's email response she told us that she did not receive any payment from Angie's List and that if we desired a refund for the consultation and design we did not receive that we needed to contact Angie's List ourselves. We have no idea of the quality of this company's work. They might do a great job for all we know. However, when we pay money for something others are willing to do for free and do not even receive the consultation and design we paid for we feel disappointed and duped by this Angie's List Big Deal. We ask that Angie's List refund the $49 paid and seriously consider that a value should not be placed on a service which is offered for free by most, if not all, other local companies.

I needed my lawn mode and edged as well as the shrubs and palms on the property trimmed on a weekly basis. They made a bunch of promises they never kept when they came out. They said they were experts in trimming the shrubs. Every week i had to ask them to get something they missed. They came and went in ten minutes every time they came. They smoked on the property and left cigarette butts on the ground. When they blew the back yard they blew debris all over the lawn furniture. they don't pick up anything. They just blow it into the shrubs and corners of the house and leave it there. They would not edge unless i asked them about it and then had an attitude when I did. They replace some sod and were obviously not qualified to do so. They are lawn mowers at best and have no experience win any kind of planting or landscaping. when I resolved to get rid of them, I tried to get them to trim some of the overgrown shrubs prior to telling them. they failed to do it. when I asked them about it they got angry, quit the job and left me hanging. When I took issue with their office they were paid in advance for the month and they still had some work to complete as per our verbal contract, I got a call from the crew manager and he threatened me and said he was going to come to the house and inferred he would do me physical harm. I called the office back and told them I was putting a bad review on Angie's list they said they would just refute the claim and made up some story that I was threatening their workers physical harm. I am a business professional and manage hundreds of people. I know how to motivate people through encouragement. These people are Neanderthals at best. Do not hire this company!

Although the provider shared insights and recommendations, what I needed was a computer-generated printout with pictures of the proposed layout. They do not have the software needed to generate this type of report. Initial response was speedy. However, follow-up has not occurred in nearly a week.
