Paul Ewing was very responsive and professional from the first contact. I called several locksmiths close to me listed in Angie's list. Paul gave me a free estimate and offered a 10% military or senior discount. His prices were the same or lower than the others I called. He was able to do the work the next day, showed up on time, provided a wealth of knowledge about maintaining locks in the Florida humidity, and completed the work quickly and efficiently. I will call A1 Agent Locksmith for any future locksmith needs I may have and recommend them to anyone looking for a locksmith.

I called Paul because 2 years ago I contacted A1 and was happy with the service. He said he would be there around 2:30-3PM, and I asked him to call me when he was on his way. Never called. Around 6 pm I called again and left a message on his voicemail. So far, almost 24 hours later, I still haven't heard from him. Hiring a different locksmith.

Scheduled appt. with Paul for Saturday afternoon at a new home I needed to drive over and meet him at. Contacted Paul late morning Saturday to gauge timing, he indicated he was about 1.5 to 2 hours out. Drove over to wait for him, called him back 3 hours later to determine arrival time...he said he misunderstood another customers' need and would be at least 1-2 more hours and mentioned the possibility of rescheduling to the next morning. This was early evening so I confirmed that he did work on Sunday as I really needed this complete. He assured me he did and would call around 10:30 - 11am Sunday morning prior to heading over. I again drove over around this time to wait for him... around 1pm I called him again to determine if he was on his way... received his voice message and he NEVER CALLED BACK. I ended up having to call another locksmith now at a Sunday premium charge to complete the job. Common business courtesy, don't agree to work you do not have time to do and keep your customer informed! Had I been advised when I made the appt. he was not available that weekend, I could have scheduled another locksmith minus the now emergency fees!

We bought a new house in Bradenton and called A-1 after the closing to change the locks. Paul did a great job. Scheduled him for Friday, he did not show up at the appointed hour - called two hours later -- he was in a bad car accident. Someone ran a light and totaled his service van with him in it. He left the hospital and immediately called all of his scheduled clients -- offered to come out that evening. I rescheduled for the next day. He arrived on time (despite the island traffic going through Bradenton). He did a great job -- replaced all of the locks (some of them had been installed incorrectly by the prior owner). Keyed upper and lower locks on four doors to use the same key and made duplicate keys for us. He worked quickly, got everything done in about 45 minutes - he worked quickly and cleanly -- despite not even having his primary service vehicle (which had been crunched in the prior day's accident). Would highly recommend him.

But there were no complaints about poor workmanship so far.

They showed up right on time and did just as promised. They offered good advice.

Paul wss really professional and when the keys were hard to turn, he fixed the problem at no charge.

I just bought a new home and needed the locks re-keyed. Paul came out and did all seven locks, made us five keys, and even tightened up a couple of loose doorknobs that he found. He was fast and very professional. I would definitely use this company again and will recommend them to anyone I know who needs their services.
