Sunset Moving & Storage

This was the first time I was using this company since my usual guy was not available. They were hired to move our brand new 5'8" grand piano. They were very professional and took great care of everything. From making sure the piano was secured properly to the little details as providing new floor bases when we arrived at our new home. I was super impressed with the level of care. I will continue using them from now on and would recommend them to anyone.

Found Sunset Moving & Storage (an agent for Atlas Van Lines) on Angie's List and gave them a call. Sean Moore came out to my home and gave me an estimate for the move. The move was from Pompano Beach to the Tampa Bay area. Once I decided to use their services, we did the paperwork and I had a FINAL price for the move. We set the move up so they would pack the truck on Tuesday and deliver it the next day (Wednesday). They provided hanging clothes boxes for free. I went to their office and picked them up. I packed everything up myself and they came the day of the move and packed the truck. The movers were on time and were very nice. The lead mover was good at his job. The other two movers were good too but they were on their mobile phones a lot. All three were very careful with making sure not to damage any of the walls, doors, etc. along with keeping my belongings safe. On Wednesday I got a call that the truck had broken down on I75 (Alligator Alley). They had to wait for a tow truck to bring them back to their Pompano Beach office. At the Office they would transfer my items from the broken truck to a new truck. My belongings were delivered on Thursday instead. There were two movers on Thursday since it was a ground floor with no upstairs. They did a good job protecting the carpeting, walls, doors, etc. They made sure everything was placed where I wanted it and put together any items that were disassembled on Tuesday for the move. Note: I have moved many times over the years so I have some experience with movers. With moving companies, you get what you pay for so don't let the cost of the move be the only deciding factor. Sunset Moving & Storage, overall, were professional and did a very good job. I would use them again.

Called and left a message on Mon, no return call, called again on Tues was told the person I needed to speak too would call me back. He called me on Wed, I explained I had a few pieces of furniture to move 4 blocks down the road, he quoted me a price said he had availability this week to move me. I confirmed with my husband, called the man I had spoken with back within the hr, left a message said I was ready to set it up, and he never returned my call.

Excellent experiance. Company confirmed the time and the method of payment before the move. The movers showed up on time with the promised number of wardrobe boxes. The 4 movers were very pleasant, hard working and had us out of 1 house and into the other on the same day. I would highly recommend this company

Everything went very well. They did some packing for us and hauled all of our belongings. From the initial contact that we had with them, to the last person unloading the truck, all interactions were good.

A representative came to our home to give us a quote. He arrived on time and provided a prompt quote. Once arranged, the movers arrived on time, packed our furniture with care and it was delivered at its destination across the state the same day. We are very satisfied with the experience.

The movers were fabulous. They were non-stop workers, courteous and very careful with my property. I have moved twice before, and this was my best move thusfar. I have stored my belongings with the company and anticipate a good ending to this transaction.

No one returned my first call, so I called again/ left a message to get a quote. They were a bit higher than average with a rate of $135 per hour plus $15 fuel charge for 3 guys with a truck. The deal breaker was that they do not offer insurance coverage if you provide your own moving boxes. We already have already purchased all of our moving boxes and supplies and were simply in need of labor.

Sunset was very professional from the get-go, the move went very well and the estimate was right on target. An easy stress free move.

I was satisfied with the mover, but I was going to call the mover herself and tell her that she needs to change her listing. I looked her up on the list and did not see anything about interstate moving, so I was looking to call up American Movers because I used them a couple of time and I was happy. I found out that they were handling all the business that American Movers would have handled in that area, but I lucked into that. They were prompt, reliable, and efficient, and we had almost no breakage. They took a long time to handle the claim, but were very pleasant about it.

We received a very reasonable estimate, and were impressed with the company's customer service on the phone prior to the move. On moving day, the movers arrived an hour late. They were personable, worked hard, and seemed to know what they were doing. We were very impressed by the fact that they padded every piece of furniture. I drew one mover's attention to a hand-carved wooden rocking horse that my husband made decades ago, and he wrapped it in a pad and assured me he would be particularly careful with it. He was in charge of packing and placing everything on the truck. The next day, two different movers drove the truck and unloaded it in our townhome. They, too, worked very hard in humid, miserable weather. As they unwrappd the furniture, they showed us that a 7-inch piece of the rocker on the rocking horse had split off; and the back of an antique wooden chair was also splintered, with a small piece missing. We were stunned and very upset, as both things had great sentimental value. We had moved both items six times before, including across the country, and they never suffered any damage. We could have understood glass breaking, but not wood. The mover told me to write down what the damage was on the side of the manifest, which I did. I expected that he would show it to someone at the company, who would be in touch immediately. After hearing nothing for a couple of weeks, I emailed the manager, told her what happened, included photos. Still, we got no response. About a week later, I emailed again and asked if she was planning to reply. She emailed immediately, said she hadn't gotten the original email, and asked me to resend it. I did, and she called immediately, apologized for the damage, and the fact that she knew nothing about the damage. Apparently, the movers said nothing ... and no one bothered to read my comments on the manifest. She said that if we were still in the area, she would have sent a handyman to fix the damage. My husband had already re-glued the rocking horse, but the chair will never be completely reparable because of the missing wood. She said she would send us a check. A week later we received a check for $100. I would have expected it to be accompanied by a letter, reiterating the apology and reinforcing their commitment to customer service, but it was just a check in an envelope. Better than nothing, I guess.

My brother and I were emptying our father's home. We needed a company that could pack and ship to two locations. The office staff were extremely efficient. They set up a time for the estimate. That went well and we received a discount for being a member of AAA. The company was ready to come out the following day to pack and take the shipment. The driver, John Gillen, and his assistant, Mark, were on time, careful with the breakables, and very professional and personable. The shipments arrived at their final destinations in perfect condition and on time.

He did not actually come out, but was able to provide an estimate over the phone.

I thought everything went fine for the most part, except there was an issue with inventory. I was not aware that they were not required to keep a count on all of the things they transported for me, but we were able to get everything safely unloaded and accounted for. I thought that their rates were good. I paid about 2,200 for their moving services plus another 300 for an insurance policy that they recommended.

Simply put: Wonderful. I have moved a lot in the past and have never had such a great experience. They showed up on time, were very friendly, got right to work and helped me finish up the last minute things. At the new house everything was put in the right place. I almost didn't need to be there. The entire move took less than three hours. Well worth every penny.

The men and truck arrived on time and worked pretty steadily until the job was completed. I bought them lunch and they took a short break to eat. It was a big job and they worked hard and mostly had a good attitude. Moving is always stressful, but this company helped to alleviate some of that stress. Compared to some of the nightmares I've read about, this move went smoothly and there were no unpleasant surprises.

My overall experience was excellent. They moved everything in a timely fashion and there was no breakage whatsoever. My only complaint was that the third man was a bit slow and seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time folding blankets in the truck instead of helping move the smaller items while the two other younger movers were handling the big stuff. Also, the truck itself was driven at an extremely slow pace no more than 15 or 20 miles per hour. These two things, combined with the fact that they wanted to stop for lunch in the middle of the move after just two hours of working, made the final bill about $50.00 higher than I think it should of been. However, this is petty compared to the excellent overall job they did and I would definitely recommend them wholeheartedly as they were good dependable workers and a very dependable conscientious company to work with.

The man who came to give me a price estimate was on time, gave detailed information along with a price. The 2 men who moved my furniture were early, very polite, very careful with my furniture, worked hard, did not take breaks.

The office personnel, especially Cindy, were very cheerful and helpful and always provided excellent service. They were especially flexible with my ever changing moving schedule. The moving rep that came out to do the estimate was also very professional and helpful. The estimate was not the lowest I received, but was certainly fair. The moving team arrived on time and got right to work. It was amazing how fast they moved. When moving in to new house, they made sure to lay down blankets to protect carpet. They were very receptive to where I said I wanted things placed. Even though they expressed doubts about a couch fitting in to a certain room, I asked them to try, they did without complaint and put the couch right where I wanted it. 1 or 2 items damaged, but nothing major. Nothing I wouldn't expect from a normal move. Overall they took great care with items. Moving team was clean and professional. Would definitely recommend Sunset Moving and Storage.
