Description of Work: ECM was called because we have an annual service contract with them & our hot water tank was leaking. We were told the Expansion tank was the problem & needed to be replaced. Our contract did not cover this because our contract was less than 1 year old. We agreed to the charge of $225 & the work was done. The next morning the leak remained & ECM was called & now we were told that the hot water heater must be replaced at an additional charge of @ $790. We asked if the original $225 was going to be deducted from this charge & if there was a discount/rebate offered. They said "NO". We said we would get back to them. Meanwhile we contacted a local plumber who took care of the problem the next day & provided excellent service. We called ECM to return the Expansion Tank they replaced but have not heard from them. Their service dept. was unresponsive & could not care less. We will not do business with this company again.

Description of Work: My Refrigerator was not as cold as it should be in the refrigerator or freezer unless i raised the coldness to highest level. They air blew the dust from at the back bottom of the refrigerator and the motor. That corrected the problem.

Description of Work: ECM is great. I have the service contract. Just call them when i have a problem and they come fix it. No hassles. Took two other AC companies to "fix" my AC. Someone from ECM came out and fixed the problem in one visit. They charged about $200 more than other quotes to replace the water heater but havent had a problem Highly recommend

Description of Work: I bought a new A/C unit along with a whole home maint plan with ECM. On the few occasions we needed items that were suppose to be covered under our agreement, we were told that there were exclusions in our agreement that prohibited them from fixing the items under our warranty. The latest was my washer that I ended up replacing because it took them 1.5 weeks and 3 trips out and 2 different repairmen to determine that. I still haven't received a good answer with what the issue was. I did however receive a call to renew my contract which expires on 8/19. Of course I had the great pleasure of telling them to kiss my a**! This company is a disaster. I fought with them every time I needed something done. I would highly recommend staying away from them for anything! Seriously.

They said no problem They came and spent five minutes and said every thing wAS OKAY, hOWEVER i NEEEDED A $800,00 uv LIGHT. sUBSQUENTLY i HAD ANOTHER TECHNICIAN IN WHO CHARGED ME 60.OO AND CLEANED THE ENTIRE UNITAND DID NOT FEEL THAT 800.00 WAS NECESSARRY. ECM IS A SCAM aLSO WHEN YOU CALL ECM YOU CANNOT GET A RESPONSE. THEY ARE A FRAUD

Description of Work: I called them to check out the ac units on a home I recently purchased. They offer an inexpensive ac check so I figured it would be a good idea since I wanted a few opinions and they are a large company. The technician they sent was less than impressive, and claimed I had mold in both of my units and that they needed to be replaced. He also claimed there was a lot of mold in my AC ducts (although I he never appeared to check them) and they needed to be cleaned. Despite having told him that I was getting freeze overs on one of my units, he claimed they were properly charged and operating properly. Anyway, 2 days later one unit completely froze over, and another AC technician stopped by and fixed it with a small charge of refrigerant. He also showed me where my ECM tech would have needed to check in order to claim the mold and other issues, and I am certain he never did. I was equally disturbed when ECM sent another technician to measure and estimate replacement of my units, and this tech told me there wasn't any mold and my ducts were fine. The estimates they provided were straighforward and reasonable, unfortunately they weren't necessary.

Description of Work: I paid almost $800 for a service contract which covered a mulitude of household issues. One thing that was covered was my oven. I had paid an upcharge to have coverage for appliances that had been discontinued.. My oven had an issue where the control panel was no longer legible. All the LED lights had faded and it was impossible to read and set the proper temperature. ECM took the panal out to get it fixed or replaced. They could do neither becuase the oven and the panel had been discontinued. According to my contract, if that happened, they were suppose to replace the aplliance. I had to take them to court. It took over one year to get compensated for a replacement oven. I did not have the use of my oven for the entire year!
