It took a few days for an initial response from Benchmark, but once Boris got in touch with me, it was very quick to get him out for a review and an estimate. The estimate provided was valid for thirty days, and we used nearly all of that time to come to a conclusion about whether to proceed with Benchmark. My initial thoughts were that the price was a touch high, but after reviewing other Angie's List reviews, I came to the conclusion that you really do get what you pay for, and Benchmark has high ratings for a reason. After we contacted Boris to proceed, things moved very quickly. The estimate stated that it would be 2-3 days to complete all work, but the majority of the job was done on the first day, and the wrap-up was done on the second day. The workers from Benchmark did a very good job of preparing the wall, sanding down some rough spots and carefully checking the area before starting. Despite the amazing speed with which they painted, the quality of the work done was excellent- far better than anything I could have done myself. Benchmark moved furniture out of the way as needed, and they didn't hesitate to ask me questions as needed. On the one or two spots where I found issues that needed correcting, they took care of it quickly and efficiently. I would definitely use Benchmark again for a future job.

Benchmark responds in a timely and respectful manner. Because know we can rely on Martin and the folks at Benchmark, it has made the difficult task of moving into a new home a whole lot easier. What a relief!

They did good work promptly. They were courteous and professional.

Beautiful results, workers were neat, courteous and professional. Cost and completion date were a "moving target", but that was really my fault because I kept asking them to do additional repairs. Overall, I think they did a first rate job for a very fair price.

Boris came out to give me an estimate. He was running late and called which I appreciated. The original estimate was $395.00. This was not the lowest estimate that I received after contacting 2 other companies,but I thought Boris was knowledgeable and he seemed more interested in doing the job than the other companies. He arrived with 2 workers on the day we agreed at 8:30am. The original estimate was increased by $125.00 because I had changed the design since previous discussed. The new design required alot more cutting of the tile and I agreed and thought the additional amount was reasonable. Boris instructed his 2 workers regarding the installation and they worked up until 5p with only a short lunch. The job required a 2nd day and they arrived promptly at 8a the next day to finish. They cleaned up the work area and the surrounding areas by vacuuming and putting their tools away each day. They were very pleasant and hard working. I absolutely love my kitchen and have gotten many compliments on the design. I also received a 10% angies list discount. I would not hesitate to use benchmark for further projects.

Everything went well from beginning to end.....Boris Sandoval came in and went through the job with me and by that afternoon, he had emailed me an estimate...a couple of days later we finalized everything including colors...During the following week, the painting and doorway was completed. When I returned on June7th to move in.....everything was excellent......the only thing was that the doors required an additional coat of paint which was done promptly!

An employee came out to my house to give me an estimate a week ago. He stated he would email me an estimate for kitchen remodeling and interior painting within 2 days. I never received another phone call, follow up, or email with an estimate. I will not be using this company. I will be going with a company that does what they say they will do and does so in a timely manner.

It went very well. The two men Benchmark sent worked together remarkably well and were pleasant to have in the house. They got the wallpaper off with minimal damage to the wallboard, just some spots where the wallboard covering paper came off and the underlying green shows thru. They did a nice job cleaning up afterward. The job estimator, Boris Sandoval was knowledgeable and very easy to work with. We got what we wanted without any strife.

Excellent work. They did the whole job in one day, very efficient and attentive. All the furniture was pushed away from the wall and nicely covered in plastic to protect. Everything was left perfectly clean once the job was completed. I'm very picky with people who work for me, but definitely they did a GREAT job. I completely recommend them.

Martin came by and did a walk-thru with me. We went over the details and got as specific as possible. The crew was there on time the day of the start. They're prep was excellent and thorough -- sanding and caulking where necessary. A good paint job is all in the details and the crew took great pains to deliver. Roughly 1200 square feet with all interior doors and ceilings for $1800 -- the results make me feel is was well worth the money spent.

Estimator arrived Thursday. I had color swatches ready and wanted a darker color for the wall and a lighter color for the ceiling. I asked him if he needed the 2 color swatches for the painting crew, and he said the lighter color should be "50%". This ended up being a big problem and I forewarn everyone to give the painting crew the exact swatches of the colors you want and not rely on what I mistook to be the estimator's expertise. For the faux ceiling, I showed him pictures on my computer. He said he had a sample book he would bring when beginning the work. He said he would get back with an estimate Monday. I emailed a reminder on Tuesday and got the estimate on Wednesday. The estimate for $1195 included 2 paint colors (wall and ceiling) and part of the ceiling would be "venetian". I figured that meant the type of finish based on the pictures I showed him. A start date 2 weeks later was agreed upon, with 3 days to do the work. 2 weeks later, the start date was delayed for another 12 days. I found another picture with a design on the faux ceiling paint that I emailed to him, saying we could discuss this when painting began (thinking he was going to bring the sample of the Venetian painting). The 3 man crew arrived on time, but the estimator did not come to discuss the faux painting. The painting foreman said if the crew did a design there would be a change order. We agreed to just let it be the venetian painting initially discussed in the estimate because the estimator didn't bring the sample book and no one knew how to do it. When giving them the color sample, I told them the estimator had said to make the ceiling the 50% color of the wall. Unfortunately the 50% color was so dark, we could barely tell there was much difference between ceiling and wall. I called the estimator to tell him the crew would have to repaint with the color I really wanted. I feel that the 50% suggestion by the estimator was his mistake. Tuesday, the crew arrived with the much lighter color for the ceiling and the estimator came by to show us the Venetian samples. He said they used plaster in the process and with the ceiling being repainted, would have to wait until Friday to let the paint dry and arrange for scaffolding. Again, I mentioned that the 50% color was entirely too dark and that shouldn't be a suggestion he makes in the future, but rather to have the customer always provide the swatches. I also indicated that I didn't realize that Venetian meant plaster. I agreed to the faux finish as he showed me in the sample. At completion,I was presented with a "extra" change order of $105. Was this for the new paint color? The plaster? The estimator didn't come by again, so I wrote the check, because the foreman's instructions were to collect this fee. I would have the same crew paint again. They were exemplary. I would not like to work with the estimator in the future. He was pleasant, but too vague in his scheduling, communications, and estimation

I signed a proposal, but I decided not to go with them. They took out the deposit immediately and gave it back to me. I left a message and they called me back. A person came out first. I waited for a couple of days for him to come again, but I got no response. I left an email and they replied to it.

He promised it would take two weeks but after he removed the base cabinets we found a water leak and mold. By the time the association fixed the leak and replaced the drywall it ended up taking three weeks but it was not the fault of the contractor. The work was A1 the quality of the material used was excellent. The cabinets were custom made and we were given about ten names of places to shop for granite. We found the perfect slab at the second place we visited and my wife is thrilled with her choice.Over all this project went as planned and Martin is a very honest and stand up person to deal with this is the second time we have dealt with him and would not hesitate to use him again

The quality of the painting job was very good. The guy did a very good job building the accent wall. They were very professional and high quality. The only thing is that they main contact was unreliable. He didn?t come when he said he would and I had to follow up with him a lot which was annoying. The actual people who worked and did the job did a fantastic job. This contact person is the one who did the estimate and was supposed to come out and check their work but he never came. They accidentally broke a window treatment while they were here and it was no problem because he agreed to fix it. It took forever and he never came so that was frustrating.

One of our neighbors recommended Benchmark Painting. They did a great job from start to finish. They were very professional, meticulous, and made sure we were happy with the work. The project leader Endier was great. I would definitely recommend them and use them again myself.

They were okay. One part of the job they did really well and other parts they didn't show up when they were supposed to. They were scheduled several times. They didn't always do the job completely. They did a good job on the front door and I was pleased with that, but I wasn't too pleased with the work on the door frame. There was a lot of back and forth and false starts. They didn't have the right equipment or it was coming later. I would consider hiring them again depending on what I wanted done. The price was reasonable.

Overall, we felt they seemed one of the best prepared and capable of the companies that we received estimates from. They were not the cheapest but were also not the most expensive. They were patient and although they took longer than expected, they made sure they got certain things right. Boris came in on the last day and made sure things looked sharp. The guys were great and very respectful. The only suggestion is that you should have your colors picked out before you choose any company. Selecting a color is stressful and difficult but they include it in their estimate. Enjoy. Also, they insure their work. It means something.

They did a fantastic job. It went awesome from start to finish. They were in and out pretty quickly. They were clean. We will definitely work with them again. They moved the furniture and everything.

They work turned out well and were very reasonably priced. They were prompt and professional, too.

Benchmark did a terrific job from start to finish! Martin (owner)and Boris (project manager with very good/helpful ideas) contacted me immediately and hung in with me despite the Xmas holidays and my hectic work schedule. I received a professional estimate, and they stayed true to it and completed the work quickly. Juan and his team painted (used several coats of paint)and were always on time and extremely courteous and pleasant. (What super guys!) When they finished the job, they moved everything back in place and left no mess for me to struggle with. They made the whole experience so pleasant that I will definitely use them again because I need to spiffy up my kitchen cabinets + counter tops. (I originally found them on Angie's List through a friend, and now I've joined because of my good experience.)

I was exited to find a painter with such high marks. But in reality, they were slow to give me an estimate and much higher than the others I contacted. I even have to call more than once to make sure that they did not forget. To be fair, Martin was courteous and apologetic for not getting back to me within the time promise. I think I would give them another try if I need a painter again.

Crew was on time, professional and competent. Such a pleasure to work with a firm that cares about the job and cares about the customer. First rate in my book. I have remodeled and/or built 4 houses in my life time so i have some experience with construction contractors.

Excellent, as usual. This is our third time using Benchmark, and we've been very happy. Boris came for the estimate, and did the work. They are both professional and easy to work with. Our only issue was that they had to delay the job a couple of days from the original start date, but they were very easy to work with on the rescheduling. Their employees are all professional, do great work, and clean up after themselves. I will continue to use Benchmark, and I do recommend them to others.

THEIR PERFORMANCE STARTING WITH INITIAL ESTIMATE VISIT, PREPARATION, PERFORMANCE, AND CLEANUP WAS TOPNOTCH. THE 5 MAN CREW WERE PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS,& VERY NEAT. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB IN TWO DAYS( THE ESTIMATE WAS 2 OR 3 DAYS). I EXPECTED A GREAT JOB, AND IT WAS EVEN BETTER.
