Appliance King of America Inc

I was met by a maintenance worker and what appeared to be a support staff employee. The two were nice enough but after I realized how I had been ripped off by them I felt beyond taken advantage of. I showed them the problem and they told me that the dryer was full of lint. I assumed that they were right because it is their job to diagnose and correct issues regarding dryers. I was wrong. The maintenance worker cleaned out the lint from the dryer, but also blew lint EVERYWHERE in my home. This was unintentional and I was not upset, but it was an inconvenience. I was then charged $166.00 for basically someone to vacuum my dryer for 30 minutes. No parts were replaced. I am still trying to figure out how someone can charge $332.00 per hour to put a suction hose into a dryer for 30 minutes. I apparently chose the wrong career. They clearly charge whatever they want based on what they think they can get away with. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Ask the price before the work is done....

They were beyond good. The only appliance company that knows what they are doing. I would never use anybody else.

Awful! The repair man said there was "nothing wrong" with the dryer, which he determined just by pushing on the button. He said it was "the way I was pushing it" (I've had the dryer for 4 years and always pushed it the same way!). He did NO diagnostics. He said it is now under warranty with him for a month, and to call again if it got worse. For that he charged us $89.95. Of course, TWO months later (and out of warranty), it became harder to start the dryer! I called a different company, and for half the price of Appliance King they did a diagnostic test and determined that it was a faulty panel. They replaced it, crediting me the $45 toward repair. Appliance King? Morel like Appliance Dictator!

Easy to set a an appointment on the phone. Service within 24 hours. The service person Ryan showed up on time and was extremely knowledgeable in diagnosing and fixing the problem. I plan to use Appliance King of America if I need any and all appliance repairs in the future.

These people understand American-made appliances which means older appliances. They don't work on Samsung or LG which are made in Korea; you're at the mercy of the manufacturers if you buy that stuff from Home Depot or Lowes or Best Buy. I would suggest that you call Appliance King and try to hang on to your old stuff unless Appliance King tells you it's hopeless. If they can't fix it probably nobody can.

Went fine. It is a newer dishwasher (everything is electronic) and since it just passed the year old point, the warranty was expired. Ryan came out and found the problem was the power cable had become loose inside the junction box attached to the dishwasher (the initial installers rushed and did a sloppy job). I called late in the day on tuesday and Ryan came out 5;30 the next day. Ryan was a pleasure to deal with.

The person who answered the phone is short tempered when I asked her to repeat what she just said.

Couldn't be fixed during initial visit. They researched back at their office and called the next day. Would cost over $400 to fix, they recommended to buy a new machine and they did not charge the service call fee.

The installer, Morris, was on time and extremely efficient. He took about 30 minutes by himself to do the job. I called for a new microwave Monday morning and the new one was installed Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. I was very pleased. Minor quibble. No discount for Angies List or seniors.

He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes, saying that the fridge water/ice dispenser needed a new control board. (The fridge is 14 years old and this is the first repair it has needed, so I wasn't all that dismayed). He thought he might have a replacement control board on his truck, but it emerged that he didn't. He gave me an estimate of the price of the job, and asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the repair. He said he would get the part in a week or so. I confirmed I wanted the repair done and gave him my credit card number as he requested. He said that nothing would be charged to the card until the repair was completed. Only three working days later he called to say that he had received the control board -- when could he come to do the repair? He said he could come over immediately if that was okay with me. I said to come ahead, and about 45 minutes and $300. later, my fridge was as good as new. I had a coupon from Angie's List for his company, which he honored cheerfully. He also told me that he himself is a member of Angie's List, because even he has a need of a good source of locating good companies and people!

Offered to come same day to fix my 20+ year old Sub Zero refrigerator (came following day). Had the part needed in the truck and was in and out in less than 30 minutes! Great service!

Very poorly, they never came.

These guys are awesome! Called them at 12PM, they promised to arrive between 130-430PM the same day. I never expected to receive same day service. They arrived, diagnosed the problem and repaired it quickly. Would absolutely recommend them and will continue to use them for any other large appliance repairs.

Called this provider in August, 2013 on a Saturday and left message--call returned on Monday morning, with advice to replace my washing machine, rather than repair it. I appreciated the fact that he was honest and didn't come out to look at it, knowing it shouldn't be repaired, so called on Wednesday 10/3/13 to schedule a repair visit for my dishwasher(wouldn't latch shut). Got an answering machine--no return call by Thursday 11:30 a.m. Called again and got message machine again Called another vendor. THIS PROVIDER NEEDS TO HAVE SOMEONE ANSWERING THE PHONE DURING LISTED BUSINESS HOURS!

Jim arrived early and immediately determined the problem with my refrigerator and told me what it would cost to fix it. He told me he could repair it in about an hour and had the parts necessary to do so. He worked quickly and was very efficient - he also noticed a dent on my dishwasher panel and popped it out for me. He suggested I replace the water filter which I did and showed me how to do it in the future. He then took a look at my washer and dryer and suggested I change out the old hoses for stainless steel hoses. He noticed that my clothes dryer door was "backwards" and offered to reverse at no charge. He was extremely generous with his time and cleaned up where he worked. I was very pleased with Jim and would not hesitate to call him should I need his expertise.

Very courteous, professional person. The service provided was, primarily, in the form of advice. The cost of the repairs could have been more than the cost of replacement. The technician was very knowledgeable, and provided several suggestions to prolong the usefulness of the appliances.

I called on a Friday morning and I needed someone to come THAT DAY because we had just come from a vacation at the beach and we had tons of wet laundry to wash. Jim and his son had a packed day and a Marlin's game to get to...but he squeezed me into his schedule nonetheless!! He and his son are so nice; they identified the problem correctly and fixed my machine in no time. Strongly recommend them for any large appliance repair!

I’ve been using them for two years. It’s a small, family owned company. Jim is the owner and he's great.

The refrigerator/ freezer was fixed on the spot.

I contacted him on Saturday and he was out the following Monday to service my refrigerator. His pricing was very reasonable as the service call was included in the estimate. He was very honest, prompt, and a very nice man to work with. Since the repair I have not experienced any additional problems.

The repairman was on time, friendly and professional.. However, we called about a cloths dryer that wouldn't turn-off and our uninformed self diagnosis was a faulty switch.. Upon showing up, the repairman in 3 minutes or less confirmed it was a faulty switch & quoted $250.00 for new switch or $70.00 for the service call. Given the dryer is 12 years old making a $250+ repair didn't make a lot of sense..In a way I understand, everybody needs to make a living, but I felt duped of $70.00. Really, the $250.00 couldn't have been advised / estimated over the phone? ..Obviously that would have negated a $70.00 service call and now I know why he was on-time, friendly and professional. I would be too.!.. I suppose it's an industry standard, but the experience did leave me feeling fleeced.

The service was quick and professional. I was very pleased with this service provider.

I described the problem over the phone to a technician and he told me it was not a repair problem but that I needed the dryer vent in the wall cleaned out. He referred me to a company that did this so I contacted them.
