U-HAUL

It was completely awful. The day before the move we get a phone call from U Haul saying that our reserved truck is not able to be had, and can we settle for a 10 foot truck which would be located all the way in Lehigh Acres. We live in North Naples!! We really couldn't do that size, it would have to be multiple trips, but they said you can have it with 100 miles and only 40 some cents a mile afterwards. We had no choice but to take it. We drag our two children up to Lehigh on Saturday morning to a contractor who has the UHAUL trucks to find out it was closed! And no Uhaul trucks in sight!!! After being placed on hold for over 20 minutes, my husband was told that the 10 foot is now back at the original location we were to pick up our 17 foot at Bonita Beach Road location and now we have to travel all the way back the way we came! I had to waste my time, my husband's, our children's and my gas now for an useless round trip. We get to the BBR location, husband picks up the truck for a better deal now (knew we were angry) and takes it to a store where we bought a 52 inch TV to find out. There is NO RAMP! He had to have 4 OLD men help him pick up this TV and place it in the truck. Needless to say now I had to call about that, to be told that the 10 foot trucks don't even come with a ramp. Then this new lady I was speaking with told me to hold on, she thinks a 17 foot truck (our original reserved truck) just pulled in, and she thinks she can get it for us (oh, by the way, I was also disconnected on-by their end-during this conversation). The conclusion: husband had to take the 10 foot truck back to the BBR location-TV inside, to exchange it for a 17 foot truck with a ramp, and switch the TV from one truck to another, by himself. It is now 1:14pm that I am writing this report, and we were supposed to be on the road with this moving business by 9:30. We haven't even been able to put a box in yet, and it's almost 4 hours later.
