We Move On Demand

Company is set up for smaller moving jobs which they probably are very competent for. However I had to move furniture curios with glass. They came with a trailer which would of resulted in all the glass being broke. They needed to return with a truck with a minimum charge to me of $500. This all delayed the move. For small jobs they're probably good.

Met with Arthur for estimate about 3 weeks prior to the move. He was the only mover I called that said he needed to see the house and furniture to give an estimate. Gave me some confidence the price quoted would match the invoice. Seemed very professional and competent during the estimate. Unfortunately, the date of the move quoted was not what I requested. Both of us are at fault here, he wrote the wrong date (different than what I told him) and I signed off on the estimate. Come moving day, I called him to inquire as to where they were, the mixup was discovered. Since all my belongs were already packed, was not possible to move another day. He managed to get a crew together for later that day. Nice work there. Once the crew arrived the troubles began. Neighbor across the street came to complain that they damaged her property while maneuvering the truck. I put her in contact with Arthur to resolve it, but every time since the move I have visited the old property, that neighbor has complained. As far as I know, this issue is still not resolved. The crew managed to move the furniture quickly and efficiently. Even the sleeper sofa upstairs was no trouble for them. Got the truck loaded in about 4 hours and off they went to the new property. This is when problem #2 came up. As I left to drive to the new house, could not find my wallet. I left it in a specific location to ensure it did not get packed, but at this point I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and just assumed I accidentally packed it. Now 13 days later, I can safely say it was not accidentally packed and can only assume one of the moving crew got a real nice tip that day. I contacted Arthur about this 2 days later when I was certain it was missing, and he was of no help. The crew arrived at the new property, got everything unpacked, and reassembled the furniture in under 3 hours. Unfortunately, not everything actually made it in the transfer from property 1 to property 2. Included in the move was the process of switching the kitchen appliances between the two homes. Unfortunately, one of the legs from the stove got lost along the way. At first, Arthur offered to find a replacement part for me, even asked for the stove model number, adding that "We really are not responsible for this". Not responsible for it? Your entire job was to move contents of one home to another! Still, have not heard back from him since giving the model number. The final problem revealed itself late in the day. The entrance at the new home is a raised step with ceramic tile on it. I had the tile in the home cleaned just the day before the move, so I know there was no chips or other damage to it. Yet after the moving truck was emptied, there was damage there. I pointed it out to the crew immediately upon noticing it, their response was "we didn't do it". Yet this was the area receiving the most foot and hand truck traffic. Explained the issue to Arthur and he said he would send a tile guy out to fix it. Still waiting on that call. I had originally trusted Move on Demand based on their reputation here. Even chose them over some word of mouth recommendations from others. Needless to say, they will not be receiving my recommendation. Had they made good on resolving some of the problems that came up, I would have at least given them a mediocre review. Given the number of problems and lack of resolution, I have no choice but to give them Fs on everything but price.

The men arrived on time and began working right away. They were very professional, in fact we were amazed at the extreme care they took wrapping and padding the furniture. They didn't mind taking instruction from us when we had any. The men brought 3 bedrooms full of heavy furniture up a flight of stairs, and treated my very delicate antique dinning room set with the utmost care. None of my fragile china or glassware was broken. They were truly amazing and I highly recommend them.

We had an overall really good experience with this company. Arthur was great to work with and makes you feel like you'll be taken care of. Our first move got off to a rough start when the guys were over an hour late. (Due to heavy traffic) After they arrived, though, things went very well. The team they sent worked well together and were very efficient and careful with our things, including my piano. The second move went well, too. Everything arrived safely and they were courteous and careful with our belongings. I would definitely recommend them!

Let me start by saying that we were very pleased with PickUp On Demand. With the exception of two issues everything went very well. Arthur came and did the estimate at our house. He looked at everything and offered us a reasonable hourly rate with an estimate of how many hours it would take. We gave him a $200 dollar credit card deposit and confirmed our date. The first hitch came when he called us the day before our move and told us he could not move our pool table even though earlier he said he could. To be honest I was surprised when he said he could move it, since moving a pool table is no small task. If we had been on a tighter schedule this would have been a major problem as we would have had only one day to find a person who could move our pool table. As it was we had a few days to find somebody else and we did. On the moving day the movers showed up at 9:15 AM. They were scheduled for 9:00AM. On this day by 9:15AM it was already in the 90s outside. It was probably over 100 by noon. So they knew they had a long hot day ahead of them. But this did not stop them from working very very quickly. These guys were definitely giving me my money's worth since I was paying by the hour. They worked very very hard to get things packed quickly and efficiently. They handled all my items with respect and care. Despite the weather and some very heavy items that needed to be moved they kept a very positive attitude and nothing seemed to phase them. The small 2nd issue came when they went to disassemble a large bed and they realized they forgot their tools. I had already packed mine so I offered to run up to the local store and buy a screw driver. It was no big deal and they were appreciative. At the new house they got everything to the rooms it needed to be in and they were accommodating to my neighbors who's driveways we sometimes blocked. Overall I had a very positive experience with this move. I know the two glitches I mentioned might seem big. But I don't think there was any malice or bad intentions in either. It was just a mistake and the quality of the rest of their work more then made up for the issues. They actually made moving day almost seem painless which is not an easy task!!!

Great experience. Had one problem with a broken shreder and the owner has agreed to buy me a new one. These guys are the best don't even consider using anyone else. I will use them again whenever I have to move.

I was not satisfied with them. The owner (Yale) didn't provide water or food for their employees. They drank my milk, juice, and soda, and I had to give them something to eat because nothing was provided for them. Also, the truck wasn't big enough. The owner miscalculated the size of the truck, and they packed everything way too quickly to make me feel uncomfortable (included pictures, shoes, etc.). They didn't complete the jobs that they said they would as well. They told me they would call me on the 28th (of June) to say when they would pick up their mess, but I'm still waiting (7/7/10). They took my money and didn't complete the job. They took advantage of me, and they have left me to do a lot of work that I cannot physically do at my age by myself. Do not use them.

From the beginning, Arthur has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He came to my apartment and provided me with a written estimate for my move. I did not have the exact date of my move so I had to call back to schedule a date. I have never had such a great experience with a moving company, and I have moved a lot! I thought I was going to drive Arthur crazy because I had to change the date of my move a couple of times and he was so terrific, flexible and understanding. He also brought me boxes!! The guys who did the move were very professional and they even helped me take some old furniture to the dumpser! They wrapped all the furniture so there was no damage. Thankfully, I don't think I'll be moving any time soon, but there's no question that I would be using this company again.

From the time of our first contact and estimate to the follow up phone call after our move was completed, Mr. Yale and Move on Demand made our moving experience about as trouble free as one could ask for. While moving is inherently something akin to tooth extraction, Move on Demand is a very professional well organized company. Their final price was substantially below their estimate. The four person crew were pleasant, spoke and understood English and worked through the entire moving experience with only a brief break for lunch. Mr Yale was on the premises most of the time supervising them. I would unhesitantly recommend this company if, heaven forbid, I have to move again

The movers arrived about 45 minutes to an hour late, due mostly to an extremely heavy rainfall that morning during a trip during rush hour from Boynton Beach to Plantation, so we felt the delay was quite reasonable. The whole move appeared to go well. No complaints from either my daughter or my husband, who was with her, and both felt everyone knew their job and performed it well. Apparently there was some difficulty in setting up a king-size bed frame which was rocking unevenly, but the movers tried to fix the problem although they hadn't caused it. Altogether, the event was much more painless -- albeit in pouring rain throughout the day -- than I would've anticipated, and we were all happy and satisfied at the conclusion. Price turned out to be within the estimated figure... even a bit lower. I'd definitely do business with them again. Oh, and by the way: Arthur said, on the day of the estimate, that "it's good luck to move in the rain." Hope he's right!

We needed to make a local move and downsize. The movers and company showed up on time and were extremely professional. They made what I thought would be a very difficult move so much easier as I had a lot of heavy furniture and it had to fit into a smaller place. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything did which really took a load off my mind. In addition, they were very courteous, friendly, fast and kept everything clean. They definatlely cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave any type of mess behind. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for the potentially stressful experience of moving to be turned into a pleasant, worry-free experience! Very impressed overall! Thanks again so much!

We moved from one townhouse to the one next door in the same building. Me moved a lot of our stuff ourselves (we just had to walk it next door), but needed help with furniture and other large items. I saw good reviews of Move On Demand/Pickup On Demand posted here, so I decided to try them. Arthur came by to give me an estimate, but his partner Bruce was there on move day because Arthur was away. I was very happy with the work -- the guys were professional, careful and didn't break or damage anything. The stairways in both townhouses are narrow and have turns, but the guys managed to get all our furniture down and up again without incident. Everything was carried from one townhouse to the other, so there was no moving truck involved. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.

From start to finish it was a pleasure dealing with Arthur, & Move on Demand. Bruce from the company came initially to look over our belongs and give us a quote. He then followed up afterwards by sending me the company's licenses, contract, etc.. and then we confirmed a moving date. Because of finding this company on Angie's list they brought over to us approximately a week before the move a package of boxes for no charge , which came in very handy! Arthur and two men showed up as promised on the moving day and worked very hard getting all of our things loaded and delivered in a timely fashion to our new home in Ft. Lauderdale with a stop at our storage facility. They delivered the service they said they would at the price promised, which these days is very much appreciated. I don't think I would ever say I enjoy moving (!) but having Arthur and his people there with us made it relatively painless! I would definitely recommend this company.

They were punctual, carefull and very fast. They wrapped all the furniture. My 2 complaints were one that the whole crew did not speak english, and apparently not even rudimentary english. I would try and tell them where to put stuff and they didn't understand me. The head mover was a great guy and did understand and speak english. Unfortunately he didn't seem to be able to communicate effectively with them either as they packed stuff into the truck that I and he specifically asked not be packed as it was going to goodwill. They also dropped a containter that was not taped shut (a scrapbook box) and they didn't tell me. I found scrapbooking pieces blowing around my yard and the box was not as I had packed it. Everything has just been shoved back into the box. This was my fault for not taping the box, but I would have appreciated being told so that I could see if there was any damage. Movers are movers and overall these guys were better than most I've used. I would use them again.

Arthur, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction throughout the process. The company reacted very well when they realized they had underestimated the time and truck size needed, immediately bringing in another truck and worker without additional charge. They worked diligently and thoroughly, taking great care with all our furnishings. The company owners were present throughout the entire move, efficiently directing their workers and making certain this big day went as smoothly as possible. We can't say enough about their professionalism and customer service, and while we hope we won't be moving again for a long time, we will happily be referring them to friends!

This is the moving company everyone dreams about, but never finds... Excellent work.. Professionalism you don't find too often... If you need a mover call them....

I thought the pricing was really good for the service they provided. They have plenty of resources and they sent plenty of people. The owners of the business both arrived to supervise as well as assist at no additional charge.

The crew arrived on time, worked hard for about 12 hours and got the job done. Everyone was pleasant and professional. It rained much of the day. They put extra effort into keeping our stuff our stuff as dry as possible. This is our fourth time hiring movers, 3rd time that the movers actually showed up. This was a much better experience than the other moves. We will definitely hire these folks the next time around.

Amazing from the first phone call. Extremely professional, both by the owner and staff. The owner was on site for the majority of the move. They showed up on time and work diligently from beginning to end. Not a single piece of furniture was damaged. They took meticulous care of our belongings, as if they were moving their own. I was so pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful moving company. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Great job!

Very good experience. Company packed my kitchen the day before the move. I was moving from a 2 story townhouse and had heavy furniture that needed to be taken down a u-shaped stairwell. The men (4 of them ) were very professional. They were able to move the furniture without damage to the furniture or the walls. I was impressed. They worked hard from start to finish. The job was estimated for 6 hours and only took five so the cost was actually less then quoted. I was skeptical due to all the horror stories heard about moving but this company was professional and I was pleased with the outcome. Bruce and Arthur were easy to deal with.

Came and did estimate. Called to confirm. Arrived on time. Careful, polite workers. Arrived at other end as scheduled. Estimate was accurate.

The move went smoothly with no damage to my house or furnishings. They were punctual, polite, clean and fast. I am very happy and have recommended this company to my friends. I hope they take my advice for a good experience in moving.

I would reccomend this company and have to anyone moving. I not only used them, but have made two other reccomendations and they have used pickup on demand to their great satisfaction. The boys showed up promtly, were polite and hard working. I had a great estimate that was flat rate so NO SURPRISES! to my great relife. I have moved 32 times in my life and had a mixed bag experience with movers, this was pleasant. They were fast, efficient and I unpacked all my boxes with nothing broken. Everything was placed where I asked it to be and the company faced the extra challenge of intermittent rain (everything was dry) to my amazement. I also used a company called used cardboard boxes. They were a third the price of u-haul and the kit was complete. I only had to buy extra tape(not enough in the kit). I gotta say, the tv console I own weighs as much as a small car and the four men pick up sent were needed to move it. Picture two refrigirators strapped together and you get the idea. Not one scratch on it! I really don't have enough nice to say, and I don't give praise lightly. The price was great too, well worth it.
