We Move On Demand

First let me begin by saying the service we received was exceptional & worth every cent. Contacted Arthur Yale at Move on Demand based upon reading of prior Angie's List reviews. We had a apartment with appoximately $ 80,000 worth of furniture, accessories, musical instruments and electronics in Tallahassee that we had to move within a two week time frame to Miami, along with a forty year old classic car that could only make the trip on a flatbed trailer. When I spoke to Mr. Yale I explained that I was very concerned that everything make the trip south without getting damaged and he put my mind at ease by explaining that Move on Demand had lots of experience and would treat our belongings with tender loving care and blanket wrap everything. Mr. Yale was very kind & patient as I contacted him over the next two weeks by email and phone calls to make sure that every detail of the move was properly planned, (did I mention that I am a picky person & that Arthur is a Saint !) To complicate matters from our side, my husband had just had surgery and was unable to lift anything, but the gentlemen that Move On Demand sent to do our move were amazing. They were extremely professional, courteous, fast and clean. I can not recommend this company more highly! They are awesome! Everything arrived in Miami in the same shape it left Tallahassee and they even accommodated us by allowing two different unloading locations Miami. This is the first time that we were totally satisfied with our moving company, having moved 10 times within the last 20 years due to business transfers.. We were visited at our home on Thursday and received a fair and firm price for our move on Monday. The team showed up on time and were super careful handling our belongings. The truck was immaculate and the movers were consummate professionals. The price was the most reasonable and the service was the best we have ever received.from all the movers we have ever dealt with. We would not hesitate to use them again.

The men were gracious but lacked experience in dealing with problems that can occur in moving furniture.

Excited about the purchase of our new home we knew that it would not be a easy task having a moving company move us at the time we wanted which was a few days before christmas. We called around to a few different mover to get pricing and availability and there were a few that did not even have the man power to get the job done so we could be in our new home for the holidays. After taking a recomendation from a friend I reached out to Mr. Arthur Yale and his team at Move On Demand. Arthur impressed me right away as he was the only company who actually came out to my house to see exactly what the job was all about. I have moved myself many times over the years and this was my first experience actualy hiring movers. Arthur was very upfront with me about the process and pricing and even made some recomendations to help prep for the move and he assured me that getting my family into our new home would not be a issue by the date that we wanted. He even offered me additional days to choose from. When the day came his crew arrived 15 minutes early and I was not embarresed by having some beat up truck parked infront of my house as we moved into the new neighborhood. His crew was very professional and courteous and genuinely cared about the items they were moving. All and all my experiance with the company was top knotch from the begininng of the process when we met Mr. Yale to the very end when the last piece of furniture was unpacked and the crew was making sure there was no debris left on the floor. Hopefully this will be my last move for a while, but if I do I will certainly call on Move On Demand. Thank you Arthur!

We've had prior bad experiences with movers. Move on Demand was great, and we'd use them again in a heartbeat. The moving guys are friendly and fast. They took good care of our items, even though we only moved a short distance within the same town. The end price was somewhat lower than was estimated, which was a bonus. They took apart our large bed, and put it together again quickly, and made sure all our items were where we had asked. We'd recommend the company again, to be sure.

He worked with me when my closing date changed, and patiently answered my questions and always got back to me in a timely manner. His team showed up on time the day of the move. The carefully and efficiently packed my home into the truck and showed the same care when they delivered the next day in Gainesville.I highly recommend Move on Demand for price and professionalism...I don't think you can get better service.

Arrived on time. 3 men did an excellent job of wrapping and protecting furniture from the old house. Move took 7 hours which was between the 6-8 hours estimated. Also moved some furniture from storage unit on a separate trip. This furniture they did not wrap or protect and I was not happy about this, after I specifically requested they wrap the furniture. I was accidentally double charged but the owner called the next day to apologize and promptly refunded the charge to my credit card. Overall we were satisfied with the move. The only items damaged was the drain hose on a washing machine because it was extremely heavy and they were carrying it up the stairs and it became too heavy and they dropped it. It was near the end of the hose so just cutting off the end solved the problem. And some paint was transferred to the foot board of a bed because it was not wrapped. during the move from the storage unit. Fortunately the paint came off with some Pledge and no perm. damage was done. I did complain to the owner about his workers constantly being on their cell phones or texting while they were on the job. He promised this would not happen again. We would use Move on Demand again.

The problem I had was that was I talked with the manager who arranged the whole thing, he said that was all routine and no problem, don't worry about it. I even called the day before, to make sure that they knew about 30% of my kitchen was packet. When I guys came in they seemed kind of surprise. They guy who packet my kitchen, never marked one box. Some of the guy don't speak english, so it was hard to communicate with them. The way they loaded the truck to me was kind of chaotic. They never got everything in the truck. They left a ton of stuff in my house. This was a fifty mile move, I had to come back to clean it because we were selling it. When they started driving away I noticed that the had a big piece of furniture in the truck that wasn't our. They hadn't even gotten all of my stuff in the truck. They were unloading the truck till 11 at night. Then I found a box of our stuff in the truck. I was missing the two medal piece that go to my dresser. He had asked my before we left what are these medal pieces, that was the last I ever saw of them. I called them, after looking for them. The house was a mess, so disorganized, I ended up leave a lot of the stuff at the old house. This is suppose to be a professional moving company and they left my rug there and that huge and I can't lift it. And what is the first thing you put down when you move into a place? The rug, no its in a storage room. I called them, they said that they could come on Monday, I said thats to late. And they left boxes and trash at my old house in the front, I had to call waste management to come and pick it up. I was going to get find from my home owners association. They said it wasn't theirs. They only thing I can say about them is that in the new house I have light colored carpet, they did not damage the carpet.

Fantastic experience!!! I will definitely use Move on Demand the next time we move. We had called the company only a few days before we had to move. Arthur, the owner, came over the very next morning to give us our rate which was very reasonable. On our moving day, the three movers - Eduardo, Marcus, and Rafael, showed up exactly on time, actually a few minutes early. They were extremely professional and unbelievably fast. Not only were they fast, but they also took great care in handling our furniture. When they arrived at our new place, they asked where to place everything and did an exceptional job. We have a sectional sofa that did not fit into the elevator, nor would it fit in the stairwell (although we live on the 14th floor, so never even thought that would be an option). I was ready to give up on the sofa and pay them to bring it to a Goodwill store. Eduardo, Marcus, and Rafael did not give up. Marcus asked the building management if there was another stairwell. There was, and the sofa would fit, barely. I was absolutely amazed that they carried the sofa up through the stairwell to the 14th floor. They performed magic. The only way we'll ever get it out of the building is with there help - so we will definitely be using them again! Their work ethic was second to none. They exceeded all expectations and went way above and beyond, and always with a smile. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Also, Arthur called us the night of our move after the movers had left because he had accidentally overcharged us $200 (we had given him a deposit and that had not been subtracted from the final bill) and let us know that we would be reimbursed on our credit card the very next morning. We had not even realized the overcharge. This just demonstrates how honest he is.

Found this company on Angie's list. Arthur came to our condo and was very professional and friendly. We have had some unpleasant experiences with various companies since first moving here over a year ago. I'm happy to report that everything with this move went very well. We also had items stored in a storage facility and we were moving into a larger town home, requiring pick up at two locations and moving into one. Although the movers were unable to fit everything into their truck and trailer, they contacted Arthur and he agreed to credit us with the time required to return to pick up the rest. We had no issues with any missing items or damage, and his team was very professional and worked quickly. After the movers left, we were unable to locate the bolts for our bed frame. I called the number and Arthur answered, even though it was fairly late in the evening. He made a call to the moving team who told me where they place the bolts while I was still on the phone. Needless to say we were very happy to have our bed on this evening after a long day. All in all, I highly recommend Move On Demand and will definitely use them again for any future local moves.

good but i did not get my computer hooked up or returned my box of tape--i did tip them for a good job everything else

They were very good and we were very satisfied with the whole process. Their pricing was reasonable. It was a lot less than the bigger companies.

Due to some unforeseen things that had happened, I waited until almost the last minute to schedule the move and was extremely happy and relieved that Move On Demand was able to schedule the move on the day that I needed. The guys were great. They worked quickly as a team and were courteous and accomondating. I have one very delicate, valuable Tiffany stained glass lamp that has great sentimental value for me and I told the guys that was the one thing that they must be extra careful with. One of them held it in his lap during the drive from the apt to the condo, and then handed it to me at the condo, so I would know it had made the trip safely. We did have one mishap. Somehow, my glass dining room table top got broken. 4 working days later, I had a new glass top that was a heavier, thicker glass and has an ogee edge, which is an upgrade from the standard beveled edge that the table originally had. This sounds terrible for me to say, but I'm glad the top got broken. Thanks, Move On Demand.

Arthur from Move On Demand visited our home a few weeks prior to the move in order to give us a more accurate estimate and guarantee that the final prince would not be above the estimate. Move On Demand was excellent in their responsiveness and professionalism. Our move had to be rescheduled to a different date twice at the last minute and Move On Demand was extremely flexible in accommodating the situation. I would use Move On Demand again and highly recommend them.

The movers were swift and professional. They even helped me clean up at the end and rearrange furniture in my new place. Although my husband and I were extremely nervous about the move they really put us at ease. Big thank you to the Brazilian Boys!

Mr. Arthur was very good when it came to explaining things. We do have an ongoing dispute with them that he's trying to settle. We have a lot of furniture and when we moved one of the pieces was lost. It didn't show up as far as the move was concerned. It is a two-piece table. One piece came out of the truck unwrapped, and I asked them when to wrap it. One of the taller legs was in with two of the shorter legs. Also, when they delivered we had a rug that wasn't ours. He is doing everything he could about it, but it is just so odd because the two pieces that are missing are a tabletop and a set of legs. He is a good person and his people are excellent. They are really good movers. At this point he's checking with the other insurance to see what he can do, but we really want him to make good on the table.

We had our moving truck arrive earlier than expected. I called the Company, and they went the extra mile to accommodate us with only two hours notice. And, they were very booked up, but took care of our unloading. The movers sent were excellent, great attitude, hard workers, courteous, and went out of their way to take care of us. They were careful, and considerate from beginning to end. Two pieces were very difficult to handle, but they did a great job.

i called and immediately spoke to the owner of Move On Demand, Arthur was so nice and so professional that I immediately felt comfortable talking to him, We set up an appointment for an estimate for the next day. Arthur came to my home, shook my hand and immediately we started talking about what my expectations were, He was so accomidating , I did not feel like it was a business transaction..I felt like I was talking to my uncle and that he was looking out for my best interest. Before the move i was contacted again by Arthur to confirm everything and assure me that things would go quickly and smoothly and that he would come by during the move and check how things were going, which he did do!!!!! On the day of the move, he was there on time with 3 very respectful and courteous young men, who made the whole experience, which is usually stressful, a very easy move...when all my things were loaded onto the truck at the old address Arthur's staff did a sweep of the apartment to make sure that nothing was left behind and we then continued onto the new townhouse. When we arrived, I had packed up some of the smaller items into my minivan, I have a disorder called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome which affects the way i use my hands and arms....needless to say these 3 men watched me struggling and asked if they could help to get the things out of my van and without hesitation, completely took over unloading for me........so humane and so very sweet and going above and beyond what their requirements were! A total of 5.5 hours is what I was told the move would take, and guess what?????? It took five and a half hours. Not one thing broken, not one thing left behind....not a peice of paper was harmed during my move. I have never, ever had such a fantastic experience with any mover like this!!!!!! Bar none...the best experience ever!!!!!! NOT ONLY WOULD I USE MOVE ONDEMAND AGAIN, BUT I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A MOVER WITHOUT EVEN A BREATHE TO HESITATE....TOP OF MY LIST, TIP OF MY TONGUE....MOVE ON DEMAND!!!!!!! We were moving from an upstairs condo, and decided that we would hire a company for both packing and moving service. After 3 spine surgeries in the past 4 years, with one within 4 months of the move, any do-it-yourself move was just not possible for me. Arthur came and gave an estimate, but did not take a detailed inventory. We informed him that we also had a lot of stuff in our 1 car garage, but he told us not to worry about the details and gave us a flat rate of $700 for the packing and told us it would be about $1000 for the moving (think it was $500 for the 1st 3 hours and $100 per hour after that). So we figured on about $1700. Arthur seemed like a nice enough guy, so we went with it. The workers were prompt on both days and worked their tails off. But for the packing, they should have sent more than just 2 guys. They worked almost 12 hours, did not have enough boxes, and my husband and I had to pack our master bedroom, bath and closet ourselves or there was not way we were going to finish. On top of that, the young men did not stop for lunch until we felt so guilty that we offered to go out and bring something back for them. They were very nice and appreciative of the food. The next day, 4 young men showed up promptly in the morning. They brought some more boxes so we could finish packing while the truck was being loaded. Arthur did show up briefly and we let him know there weren't enough boxes, and also how late the guys had to stay to do the packing the night before. We were also concerned that the truck they brought wasn't big enough to hold everything. Again, the guys didn't stop for lunch until we went out and bought something for them. By late afternoon, it was clear that everything wasn't going to fit into the truck. They said they could go get a trailer to pull behind the truck to hold the rest, and we really had no choice but to agree. This added another hour to the job that we had to pay for. By the time they got the trailer loaded and everything over to the new house it was after 8p.m. Everyone was so tired that many of the last boxes never got labeled or were labeled in Spanish. Nothing important was broken or damaged, and they did help my husband get the beds set up, but the boxes were piled everywhere and it wasn't well organized. They weren't the worst movers, and we got the job done with no real damage. But they didn't send enough people or supplies to get the job done even close to the estimate, so big points off for that. We didn't expect to have to pack 20 boxes ourselves, so some more off for that. But the main reason I would never use again is because we had a kitten we kept in a bathroom with the door closed during the move, and gave instructions (to the one of the 4 who spoke English) to only use the other bath so the kitten wouldn't get out. At some point I found the door standing open with the kitten nowhere in sight. Fortunately he was so scared by the move he was hiding under a box in the bathtub, but after that I had to stand guard at the door for the remainder of the day. Response from customer on 28, 2011: Arthur did suggest that we do some pre-packing of around 10 boxes, but never delivered prior to the move as promised. We packed the wardrobes ourselves due to amount of time it was taking to get the house packed, in addition to about 20 boxes between my husband and myself. And there were not enough boxes provided to pack everything the first day. My point is that 2 men and boxes provided was not enough resources to pack the house in a day. Also, we did not expect it to take 12 hours and it was very h****** everyone. Agree that the $700 flat rate you quoted was what you charged, but that was a flat rate for the day so extra hours could not be charged. There was no break on the hourly moving day charges and this is what brought our bill $500 over the estimate, including an hour to get a trailer to add to the truck. I think that if Arthur would have spent a little more time taking an accurate inventory prior to the move, his estimates would be closer to the final bill, and we could have had enough boxes and more importantly, a big enough truck, to do the move much more efficiently. It would also be nice to know that he was paying his workers enough that they could afford to stop for lunch. No one should work a 12 hour day without eating. In my opinion Arthur is spending too much time worrying about his Angie's List ranking, and too little overseeing what is going on with the moves. Just some basic changes, and he could have a decent moving company that we would be able to recommend.

Arthur and his crew were AMAZING ! Arrived on time, and worked tirelessly till the job was done. I can not say enough positive things about this company, they cared for my belongings as if they were their own. We had a very stressful move, we were supposed to move on Thursday and at the last minute the date needed to be changed, I called Arthur and he made it happen. The day of the move the person we were buying from would not let us in until after the close, and Arthur dealt with it, no problem, he saved my sanity. My husband and I managed to close on two houses, and moved in the same day, this was only possible with Arthur and his crew. Arthur was at the job the entire time, but his guys did not need to be given direction, they were all self motivated and knew what had to be done. I have heard some moving horror stories and we were very concern but no need to worry with MOVE ON DEMAND.

I guess Arthur is doing OK because he never called back.

Was given a quote but went with another company.

They were bad enough that I hired a different company to move me from the storage unit to my new home. There were a lot of things that broke but they didn’t offer me insurance in advance. They could have improved their efficiency. He seemed like a nice guy but I gave a number that I could absolutely not go over and, sure enough, the total was that amount. His guys were taking one box at a time down the elevator. All of the reviews say that he was there but he wasn’t at my move. I can’t prove it, but I felt like they stretched the time to get to the max. They broke a coffee table and they broke my kitchen table but they wouldn’t admit to it until push came to shove. I just didn’t feel comfortable with them and I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend.

The movers arrived in a rental truck that was too small for the job. One of the crew (of two) had to leave to get a larger truck which caused them not to have the job loaded until 3:30PM on Saturday. Authur informed me that it was too late for his crew to drive to Orlando and that he would not deliver the furniture until Monday. I even offered to pay for a hotel room for the crew if they would deliver the furniture as scheduled, but Authur refused. I suspect he did not want to pay his crew overtime wages. As a result, we had to get a hotel room for two nights and buy additional clothing because everything was in the truck. They delivered the furniture on Monday (two days late) in good shape.
