Nightmare!! Good salesman to get the job but horrible production, lies, shows when they want and they had no clue how to install tile. I was tortured for 7 weeks watching his unskilled workers butchering my deck and pool. Laying tile and then removing it cause it kept getting done wrong. No common sense in the workers. They cover clearly opened deck jets and junction box on deck with concrete and tile. They were doing the same thing 2 to 3 times. Dumped concrete in the canal and left it there. Broke 2 gates. Cut the electrical to a new led light that I provided, they never replaced or fixed it and continued tileing. Nothing was an issue to them. They did what they wanted. They delayed my move in date, delayed other subs from working. After not showing up on Monday and Friday I fired Tucker design build and am suing. This is no way an isolated 1 in a thousand mistake that happened to me. It's apparent this is how they operate. You have been informed!

I think their customer service policy agreement that we had in place should have been respected. The workmanship was a B. They could have done it a little bit better. They tried to cut corners there. Overall, the project was good. It was just not great but it was good. The pricing was okay.
Description of Work: We had pools and ponds installed in our backyard. We used Tucker Design Build.

I hired Bruce with the hopes of having him design and install the backyard of a house I am building. This was to include the pool, fence, landscaping and lighting. Although my house was not going to be ready until December, our first meeting was in the middle of June in the hopes of being able to have a firm grasp on the design and expense of my project so that I could coordinate with other items on my wishlist. In what would become common practice, Bruce was not timely to the meeting. In the meeting, Bruce told me that the money paid for the design, would act like a credit towards the installation of the project and that he was confident he could design me something that I would love and would fit in my budget. The budget was well known and was in no way insignificant. Although I expressed my desire to have the project move forward expeditiously, it took roughly 2 months before Bruce was able to show me anything. When he did finally show me, he had designed something that was so outside of my budget that in his words, "there is no chance this could be done even close to your budget..." After telling him that it was not acceptable, Bruce had a designer come meet with me and my wife to discuss what we wanted. This of course took roughly 2-3 weeks to schedule. The second design was given to us in a meeting with the designer, not with Bruce and not until the middle of October, roughly 4 months after I had first hired Bruce. Because we liked the second plan, I asked Bruce to provide me with a proposal of the cost. Bruce told me he would get it to me in a day or two and it took over a week. When the proposal finally arrived, the cost of just the pool alone was roughly 65% more than he had told me it would be in our first meeting and the proposal did not even include the cost of roughly 500 lineal feet of fencing. When i called to complain, Bruce reconfigured the numbers and miraculously the cost dropped $25,000 AND included the fence. I called Bruce for an explanation of why the project could all of a sudden cost $25,000 less and include a $10,000 fence and he did not give me a real explanation. Furthermore, I expressed my displeasure with the customer service i had received over the past 4 months and he offered no apology other than to say that it happened and that he felt good about the prospects of his business going forward. He could not even give me an assurance that it would change. After thinking about it, I decided that I could not go forward using Bruce for the installation of my project because he was so unreliable. I informed him of my decision and expressed that I did not believe the service he provided was worth $3000, especially in light of the fact that it would not be applied to an install. Once again he did not care. He told me he spent 80 hours working on my project and did not profit at all. He was not interested in refunding me any money. I find it very hard to believe that he spent 80 hours on my project and even if he did, he spent considerable amount of time working on a design which was not anywhere within budget. The time spent on that design was in no way for my benefit and to suggest that entitled to payment for that time is crazy. Not too mention, his designer provided me a reconciliation of his time which only amounted to 46 hours, so it is clear that there is no possible way Bruce actually spent 80 hours on my project. Just another instance of Bruce being untruthful. Overall, Bruce was dismissive, unresponsive, untruthful and seemingly tried to take advantage of the situation and charge me an exponentially high fee. Worst of all, he showed no remorse at all. Not only would i not recommend him, but i would strongly recommend against him.

--Update: Since the initial review, we have had some problems with the various plants. None of these problems were Bruce's fault, but when I contacted him for follow-up he was not very responsive. I'm a little disappointed in that lack of follow up.-- First Bruce came to the house to look over our backyard. He listened to what we were looking for, looked for himself, and pretty much formed his own idea of what to do. He warned us that his proposal would be a lot, and that we should not be afraid to cut down on it if we didn't want that much. His first proposal was for five palms (including two taller ones) four Cassia trees, five fishtail palms, four fruit trees and more. Total cost was about $10,000, which was a lot more than we wanted to spend. We whittled it down to a smaller number of trees, thinking we might add more in the future. The total ended up, when we were all done, at $3200 which was a little more than we wanted to spend. What happened next blew us away. They were at our house in a day or two, got most of the work done the first day and finished the next. Bruce had a team that worked like a whirlwind. It looks great! We can see that adding some of the other items he suggested might add more, but we want to wait and see how it looks in a year and then we might do more. I shopped around a little bit on the internet for pricing, and I'm pretty sure we could get the various plants for significantly less money. But it was worth it because the price included Bruce's design, and their delivery and work. The palms are rather large and the cost of delivering them must be substantial. If you're looking for the cheapest, Bruce is probably not the guy. But if you want quality and are willing to pay a reasonable price for it, Bruce is the guy.
Description of Work: Landscape design and execution, including planting three Mayapan Palms, two Cassia, a Clementine tree, about 20 Hibiscus, and a few ground cover plants.

Buried pipe was found then cut and capped off by Tucker's tech. The result was that the vibration coupling to my home was dramatically reduced.
Description of Work: Remediate problem with ground-coupled vibration coming from neighbor's pool motor and coupling through the ground to the outside wall in my home. This was setting up a disturbing hum throughout the master suite in my home making it impossible to get rest while the pool pump was activated. Representative (Charlie) responded to my plea for assistance even though the $ amount of work to be done was relatively insignificant. Site was surveyed and a solution was proposed (dig up ground and look for buried pipes physically connecting pool motor to my house foundation). When connecting mechanism is found Tucker would cut it and cap it off.

He was fantastic. He was very efficient and very creative in the landscaping where to put bushes and plants. He got the job finished in good time, didn't take as long as he thought it would. He was fantastic about cleaning up when he finished. I would highly recommend this company.
