The only reason I did not give the Tile Installation Experts (and Troy, the owner) F's across the board is because when he did show up to do work, the quality of his tile installation work was good. However, he was extremely unreliable. He quoted the job and said it should take him 2-3 weeks. We had a tight timeline and had to be out of our apartment and into the new house in 4 weeks. Well, we were going on the 8th week and he was still not even close to being done. On top of that he was barely showing up even though he was well aware that we were going to have to pay additional costs to stay in our apartment until the job was finished. He would come a day or two and do some work (enough to get another payment from us I am realizing now) and then not show up for another few days. We found out later he was going to work other jobs. Ultimately, everything he promised he could not deliver. He said he could do a 1/8 grout line but then when he began installing he had to do a wider grout line due to the clip system he used. He needed more materials than he originally estimated driving up the cost of the job, mostly because he was so wasteful. (He would let thinset dry and go to waste in buckets when he stopped after just a few hours of work instead of laying tile until the thinset he had mixed was used up for that day.) But the main issue was his lack of reliability. He didn't even come close to his projected completion timeline of 2 to 3 weeks. We were more than understanding with him, even asking him when it became obvious he wasn't going to be done with the entire house by move in date, that he at least finish one side of the house first so we could move into that part and he couldn't do that. He kept promising to get a portion done but then wouldn't show up and work. Finally, at week 8 we ended up firing him and hiring someone else to come in and complete the job. Of course this also cost us additional money but we really needed the job finished at that point and wanted the nightmare project to be over with. I highly recommend looking elsewhere, especially if you need your work done at all in a timely manner.

Response from Tile Installation Expert
Please add all the facts. 2 of 5 pallets that showed from lowes were wrong color. You advised we get paid when done so once wasn't any more tile and 2 pallets were in transit we said we would cone back then. What else could we of done?? So 2 weeks go by still no tile. So we did other work? We lost all those days because of lowes mistake. We had to take another project and sorry couldn't just drop everything to one back. We do excellent work as you stated, BUT what else could we of done? We couldn't just drop what we were doing to come back 3 weeks later so yes you hired my helpers I have no clue why or even how. In result you wanted to save money which cost more time and aggravation. In reality if lowes didnt mess up would this review even exist? We both know that answer. Sorry.
