I've had to make several phone calls to GE customer service. It's been a month since my first call and the dryer is still not fixed. They have sent out 2 technicians, one of which apparently never sent in any notes since GE had no record of them and was not able to contact the technician...thus the reason they had to send out the second technician. Keep in mind, when they schedule the "repair" you will have a 4 hour window in which that technician can show up so plan to take the day off work to sit around waiting for the guy. The "repair" guy today said he would order the part and have it shipped to my home which means I'll now have a huge dryer drum sitting in my living room until they schedule the next attempt at repairing this lemon. Now I will have a 3rd technician come in to do the repair which means another 4 hour window to sit around and wait for the guy to show up. If this unit was out of warranty, I would be paying $89 service call fee for every visit on top of the repair costs. From start to finish, GE has dropped the ball on customer service. Please avoid the hassels I'm dealing with by purchasing appliances from any other company.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a new home with GE Appliances (not our choice, came with the house). In the 2 months since moving in, I've had to have the GE Profile Oven repaired and I'm still working with GE to get the dryer repaired. Since the appliances are brand new, I asked to have the dryer replaced. GE refused to replace it stating they will fix it instead. I've been waiting now for over a month and the dryer is still not repaired. GE makes an inferior product and will not stand by what they make. Please do not purchase GE appliances unless you are looking for this type of service.
