+ -1 moreThe work required no more than about 20 minutes of time. Mr. Gearhiser, who was reputed to be a highly experienced computer engineer, seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He explained the whole process, making me feel very comfortable with the work he did. After popping open up the memory compartment of the laptop, he proceeded to carefully insert the two brand new memory SIMMS, one at a time. They snapped right in. He closed up the case, made some changes to the BIOS settings, then ran a diagnostic test that showed that my computer was indeed running much faster. I was delighted at the snappy performance of my computer, as I was with Mr. Gearhiser's professionalism. I'll be glad to use him in the future for all of my computer repair needs.
Description of Work: I called Mr. Gearhiser on the recommendation of a neighbor of mine who knew him and know of his computer repair service. My 3 year old HP laptop had been running a bit slow and I thought it might be time for an upgrade. I explored the option of buying a new machine, but after some reading online, realized that by upgrading the RAM memory, that my computer might run faster. I contacted Bill Gearhiser and he recommended adding RAM memory. By doubling the computer's memory he said I'd see an immediate performance improvement. I took the computer to Mr. Geahiser's shop. He examined the machine and gave me a fair estimate of the work - labor plus parts. I agreed to the terms, and Mr. Gearhiser promptly began the upgrade.
