My parents that live in The Villages are 89(Mom) and 91(Dad) years old and have been married 68 years. Over the last few weeks my Dad health has been drastically declining, he had been bed ridden, under Hospice care with 24x7 CNAs monitoring. This past Tuesday(Feb 26th) the AC System stopped working. We called Perfect Air Systems (License #CAC058419) for an estimate. Obviously, we told them about my Dad and the Technician that came out saw my Dad laying on the hospital bed in their living room. To us we needed this fixed ASAP so that my parents and the CNAs could be in comfort during this difficult time. The Perfect Air Systems Technician gave us an estimate of $5800 saying: There was no freon in the system, the condenser was burnt out, that the Fan motor was no longer working and that the Air Handler bearings were going. Thus, both the Air Handler and the AC Unit needed to be replaced. They were schedule to perform the installation on February 27th. Unfortunately, my Dad had past away earlier in the morning of Feb 27th. So we postponed the installation for obvious reasons. When I arrived at my parents house, in The Villages, I reviewed the Invoice. The Perfect Air Systems invoice also included a charge for a new cement pad (that's what the AC Unit sits on) and had made a notation that the homeowner was under Hospice Care. So I called another AC company to get a 2nd opinion. Turns out my parents AC System only needed a $110 Capacitor + another $90 for the service charge. Yes, that means they "only" paid $190 to get their AC System running without issue. The new Technician said it did not need to add any freon, the cement pad was not cracked nor in need of replacement and that nothing was wrong with the Air Handlers bearings or condenser. I was extremely upset that Perfect Air Systems (License #CAC058419) was going to take advantage of my parents/family's situation. I did call Perfect Air Systems and spoke to the owner (Mike ?). He apologized and said he would have a talk with his technician. Where is the humanity? Is their no compassion for the elderly and dying? Perhaps their license needs to be revoked!!!

Excellent !!!!!!!!!!!! Scott,Scott Junior, and Art were very nice and very professional. Art has ten years experience and he didn't mind us asking as many questions as we wanted. Mike the owner came out to check on things which was very nice.
Description of Work: Scott came out to the house 07/05/2011 to check to make sure the duct system was not leaking and large enough to carry the air from a 3 ton condenser and air handler by going up the stairs in the garage into the roof. He said there were leaks in the duct system. I went up to see for myself and he was right. You could feel a small amount of air coming out in several places. Sealing these leaks is included in the price of the installation and units. Then he went to the circuit breaker box to see if it would take the amount of electricity needed for the larger units which was fine. We sat down and he explained the cost for a new larger 3 ton 15 seer trane. I decided on the middle model which I found out was the most popular model; cost was $ 5,645.58. Next day 07/06/2011 Art and scott junior came in and installed my new units. Scott junior installed the hurricane pad and the outdoor condenser and heat pump and ran new copper tubing to the air handler. As Art was installing the air handler he showed me the black mold that should not be there. He had to make a larger air return and new copper tubing. I had been sneezing a lot so I had them clean out the ducts and put in a blue uv light to take care of any mold which cost $792.00. Just cleaning the ducts would cost $400.00 which is what other companies charge. Art put in a water censor incase the condensation pvc tubing clogs and backs up the air-conditioner will shut off automatically. Scott junior went up in the roof and put a white putty on all the leaks and told me it would dry like a cast on a broken limb. They clean the ducts by removing the metal vents and cleaning them; then running a round brush hooked to a large vaccum house and pushing to each junction box. The ducts needed cleaning after 15 years.
