Use Caution: The only thing the technician they sent was qualified to do is sell you a product or service. He first tried to sell me a new &12k unit plus $4k duct cleaning. When I declined, next was a $6k evaporator coil replacement and the $4k duct cleaning. When I refused, he next peddled $2k evaporator coil cleaning and $4k duct cleaning. He continued trying to sell me a lower priced solution to the problems he found with the HVAC system. His last attempt was to sell me an annual service contract for $240 and he was successful. However, the lies he told to accomplish this were extremely deceitful. He produced pictures showing the system low on freon (4lbs) and his leak detector reading 99% leak detected. He would be graciosos and put 2lbs of freon in the system if I purchased the maintenance contract. He stated that my system would only work for a week before the freon leaked back out. (1 Week Later) Concerned called a different HVAC company to service my system (Tropic Aire). The technician checked the system from the compressor to the atic. The only thing he suggested was to have the outside compressor enclosue debris cleaned out. No leaks, freon at 100%, and no problems with the ductwork. Do not believe their people, they will miss lead you and destroy your HVAC system.

I hold of on calling other people just for you to call us back on Sunday right before the appt and raise your fee from the 89 you told me to 195 Sunday fee all the sudden. Very disrespectful and unethical. It is called bait, illegal in florida. They made me wait 2 days and then use my need to raise the prize. AC Tech sounded very entitled, I don't owe them anything.

Technician (salesman?) arrived on time, calling ahead, and had a pleasant and professional demeanor. That's about the only good I can say about my experience. Salesman could not come up with any better proposed location for an air handler than inside a bedroom closet, rendering it useless as a closet, which is absurd--per the property appraiser, it no longer is a bedroom if you do that! It was up to me to suggest a package unit--located outside--as a much more sensible solution. He also advised not to condition the upstairs bedrooms ("I wouldn't bother if it was me, just use window units"). The "quote" was a few handwritten figures on a blank sheet of yellow lined paper with little detail. The price was--by six thousand dollars--the highest out of 6 different quotes I obtained. Keep in mind as well, this was for a system that could do only the lower half of the house. Every other company I had out here quoted me a price for a unit and ducting capable of conditioning the entire house, both upper and lower floors, for thousands of dollars less! He informed me that their official "season" was was to begin in May and the price would go even higher then, by another $2000. Sensing a ploy to get me to sign a contract without shopping around, I got him off my property politely but quickly. Buyer beware this company...you have been warned!

I feel I must relate my experience with One Hour Air in the hope that consumers like I can avoid the costly mistake of choosing this company. I am unsure whether Angie's List or Home Advisor was the referring source but I would also hope that both will no longer refer this firm. I hired One Hour Air to rework the HVAC ductwork order a mobile home we use as a getaway place. This was to include expanding four floor outlets and adding one floor return. The total cost was $4,000. Problems surfaced immediately? The materials sent with the technicians were incorrect. This caused the technicians to try and hand make some of the venting and to leave the first day with open holes in the floor. On the second day some of the materials were still incorrect, but were modified to fit. Then, the coverings for the floor vents were actually the cheapest of wall grates, not even registers. I pointed out that using cheap ceiling grates instead of floor registers was quite dangerous since stepping on a ceiling grate causes it to collapse and could easily result in injury, and liability. They ordered floor vents, but not registers, which are more expensive. They ordered floor grates which do not allow for adjustment of the air flow. Worse, some still didn't fit as it seems that the holes are a bit too large. I have purchased the correctly sized floor registers and installed them myself at a cost of approximately $200.00. While installing the venting, a technician told me that the “hurricane straps” under the mobile home were rusting out and I immediately contacted a mobile home service to replace these. One of the workers came to me and told me that one of the return ducts had fallen off, but he had put it up again. I thanked him and thought nothing of it. On Saturday, August 19th, when we visited the mobile home it was very warm. I assumed the problem was with the unit and called the company which installed the unit. Emergency weekend service is not inexpensive. The initial diagnosis was the blower motor which was working but very little air came out. This was replaced under warranty. No change in flow. Today, under the guidance of the service manager, the young technician went under the mobile home only to find the main supply duct had come loose, which he repaired. Crawling out, he bumped the other return duct and it fell off, which he repaired. I understand that ALL of the ducts were attached with ONE Zip Tie and nothing else! Remember, these hang from floor vents. This company does not do duct installation or replacement which is why I called One Hour Air. Total cost for this service, $300.00 I now need to hire someone to repair the shoddy work of One Hour Air. Cost, who knows. I would expect that my minimum cost to correct the work of One Hour Air will exceed $1,000.00! I strongly recommend that everyone avoid One Hour Air.

I purchased my A/C unit from them. They're the only company that offers a 10-year parts and labor warranty. They've made sure to do whatever was needed to get the unit working and have gotten the parts and come out to fix it at no additional cost since I'm part of their "Comfort Club".

I had them out inspecting our old HVAC system and they gave us the option of performing service on the old unit or starting fresh with a whole new one. Everything went well. It took a couple of days to get the unit and a couple of days to install. Everyone was very nice so overall it was a good experience. The techs that did the install were the most personable and down to earth people I've experienced and worked with. They spoke politely to each other and to us while in our home and were total gentlemen the entire time. They did give us a veterans discount which was helpful.

The Tech scheduled the repair, and gave us a 12:00 to 7:00 time window. After multiple calls to get a closer ETA, and being told he was "on his way", he finally showed up at 5:30PM but within the promised time frame so that met the on-time promise. The tech struggled to repair this large duct by himself. I thought it was a two person job. He told me he didn't want to pick up a helper as it would put him home late. He finally left our home at 7:30 (on a Friday night) so much for our evening plans. We have been having problems with our system and have recently had multiple HVAC companies to our home to figure out an odor problem and have gotten proposals for repair. During the course of these other opinions, we got a good critique on One Hour Air's, workmanship, which is not good. It turns out that they spliced a 20 inch return duct on to the existing 22 inch duct thereby restricting air return to the system. In addition, the duct was not properly insulated which will cause condensation problems in the system. (During the repair, the tech bragged that he was using a piece of duct that he had at the shop, I had no idea it was the wrong size) The same tech also relocated a UV light that another tech had installed on the system several months ago. (The light was originally placed on the door above the a - frame, bad location when the door needs to come off, but above the coils is correct) This tech moved the UV light to the intake side of the coils, above the filter. We discovered that the UV light caused a 90-day pleated filter to disintegrate within 3 weeks, big holes in it!. While this tech was moving the UV light, he told me in no uncertain terms that the other tech had not done it right. Our house has a 5-ton condenser, mis-matched to a 4-ton air handler and is not properly handling humidity in the house. None of the OHA techs noticed this mis-match over the course of 4 visits to our house, all other HVAC companies were quick point out this serious issue. (As a result we are having the entire system replaced including some major work on the duct system) I did have the One Hour Air's service manager come to our house during this process to get a proposal for the fix. Mr. Eddy walked around the attic and must have noticed the duct, but never mentioned it. When I showed him the UV light was disintegrating the filter, he had no reaction, never offer to fix it or anything. At the end of his inspection, he said he would call me to propose a fix, that was over 10 days ago, I didn't expect to hear from him! No way will One Hour Air ever come back into my house. Time will tell if I can get a refund for the work that must be redone, or the balance remaining on the annual contract. We were not on Angie's list when we called them....our mistake.
Description of Work: We moved to this area 7 months ago and have been using One Hour Air to service our A/C system since July, we even have a service contract for semi-annual check-ups. We called OHA to check on a sound coming from our return. During the visit the tech pointed out that our main return duct was crushed where it bent to hook into the air handler and would need to be repaired. One Hour Air replaced a 20 foot section of the main return air duct in January. They have also serviced our system 3 other time since July 2010.

Placed a service call into One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating becuase our Air Conditioner was not cooling properly. We had used them once before for routine maintenance. The phone staff is always very nice and they are able to schedule services quickly. In this particular case they sent a gentleman out who told my wife we needed a new fan motor, a cleaning and freon, and that this service would cost $700. When my wife told me this I was a bit concerned becuase they had just been out a few months earlier to perform maintenace in which they cleaned our unit and added freon. So the fact that they wanted to clean and add freon again so soon without listing a possilbe leak was a warning sign to me as well as the fact that fan motors don't cost $600. We paid the service tech the $99 diagnostic fee. I decided to get another estimate as I was concerned about the findings of theOne Hour technician. The other service provider came out and discovered that a wire was corroded, replaced the wire and the whole issue was fixed for the diagnostic fee. I called One Hour to complain about the issue and the fact that I felt like we had been decieved and I was told the general manager would call me. I have not heard from the general manager yet, and I am starting to believe that I won't. I would not recommend anyone to do business with this company.

I have just not been happy with them. It seems like every time they come to fix something, something else breaks. They have to come back. I think that they were actually pretty good with the price.

During the semi-annual check, one of my units was found to have a problem which caused it not to operate properly. I was given options from fixing it to replacing the unit. After researching the best option, I decided to have the unit fixed. They came back and fixed the unit and it has been operating just fine.
Description of Work: Started using this company in March 2008 to service my HVAC equipment. I have been very satisfied with their work. Most recently they found a problem with one of my 3 units and were to able to fix it rather than replacing.
