Terrible. The second the owner Bruce stepped in the door he was very negative. The only thing we had said so far, was "Hello." As soon as he stepped in the door, he immediately started telling us that he probably wouldn't get everything moved that day, and that it was supposed to rain that day, so if it the job went past 1pm and it started raining, that they were going to close the doors to the truck and that they would stop work. He also said that he was going on vacation so all our stuff would have to stay on the truck until the end of next week and that we would be charged rent $100 a day. They would not move any pictures, mirrors or what they deemed fragile or flimsy items. He seemed annoyed that he was going to have to take a bed frame apart to make it fit in the truck, and that the top of the dining table would have to be removed before they could move it. (I'm sorry -- that's WHY we hired you -- because we can't do that by ourselves!! You get paid by the hour, and you seemed ****** that you have to do work that is going to take a little bit more time!! I just don't get it...and it didn't even take that long.) We did one trip to the storage unit first, and the whole time, he just kept telling me that the whole move would probably not be done that day and that if it started raining, they were done for the day. I brought up the radar on my phone and it said it wouldn't rain the area until about 4-5pm and I said I thought we would be fine -- he just shook his head and said "I'm just saying...." Also, this moving date was booked for a month and we told them that we had A LOT of stuff and might need two trucks. His response? Well....a lot of stuff for one person isn't the same as the next.... Really?! So, long story short, my husband and I started helping move things out to the back of the truck to help move things along so we could do the whole move in one day. He said that he might not be able to bring all our boxes and we could just do that ourselves another day. Unbelievable. In the end, MOST (but not all) of the stuff got moved to the other house, but not before they BROKE our 6-month old 60" television (see photos). Let me stress that they used their own television moving boxes. They loaded them in the boxes themselves and unloaded them. Of course, we only discovered this AFTER they left, so I guess that just sucks for us. Overall, this was an extremely stressful and horrible moving experience. The only positive thing I can say is that the two younger guys that did all of the heavy lifting worked very hard. The owner though, was a cranky, negative man and I would NEVER in a million years recommend this company to anyone I cared about. I was so angry at how he was acting and now we still have to rent a trailer to move ourselves many of the items that he wouldn't take. Oh -- one more thing -- guess what? It didn't rain until about 7pm that night. There was no rain -- at all -- until about 2 hours after the move was over. MY RECOMMENDATION: DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. 6 hours of work. 6 hours of frustration. Residual anger.....timer hasn't stopped yet.
Description of Work: We were moving from Lake County to Orange County - about 20 miles away. We needed some of the furniture moved into a storage unit and the rest of the furniture and the house contents moved to another house.
