Allstate Fence and Rail

We had hired this company because it was on Angi, and assumed it to be reputable. Our request was to install a new vinyl fence on our property. They required a 50% down payment to begin the work. We paid with a Bank Cashier's Check from Chase Ban in the amount of $1896.50. The check was dropped off at their company office and work was to commence on July 27th. We have not been able to get in touch with anyone from the company since giving them the down payment. No one answers the phone or emails any longer and the voicemail box is full. We have visited the office where the check was dropped off, and the door has been locked and they seem to be closed down. We would just like our down payment money returned. Thank you. We contracted to purchase a home from DR Horton and prior to closing obtained a copy of the survey so we could get fence quotes. Prior to closing we contracted with Allstate Fence for the installation, cost was $2771. Upon closing DRH gave us a survey in with our closing documents, no one advised us that our property lines had been changed from the original survey. Allstate Fence did not obtain a survey from Orange County when they pulled the permit. They did not look for pin placement when they installed the fence. Our fence was installed 1’7” onto our neighbors property on one side and 1’ inside our property on the back. Allstate Fence is charging $1200 to move both sides. They were supposed to come move the fence on 03/05. They did not call or show up. I called and they re-scheduled us for 03/11. They sent me an invoice and advised I had to pay before the installer would do any work. The invoice included the wrong instructions for where the fence should be. I advised via email and phone call that the instructions were incorrect. The installer came out to move the fence. He still had the wrong instructions and when he was done had only moved the one side and had no idea he was supposed to move the back as well. I gave him a check for $650 (for 3 hours of labor, no materials) as that was what they had quoted for moving just the side that was on the neighbor’s property. I would NOT recommend Allstate Fence and Rail, 25924 CR 561, Unit C, Astalula, FL 34705 and would suggest you find a different company to do business with.
